Circa Survivor Report: Week 9

Circa Survivor Report: Week 9 SAY IT ‘AINT-SO’ NEW ORLEANS! As favorites dominated Week 9 in the NFL, the biggest road chalk of the slate proved to be the death blow for a large contingent in Circa’s Survivor contest. Our Circa Survivor Report: Week 9 recaps the carnage! Firstly, favorites went 14-1 straight-up (SU) & 10-5 against the spread (ATS) in Week 9. Upon a deeper dive over the last month, favorites have been extremely profitable to invest in, posting marks of 47-12 (SU) (79.7%) and 37-22 (ATS) (62.7%). In Week 9, nearly a quarter of the remaining 191 contestants backed the full-touchdown road favorite Saints to get past the dreadful Panthers. The second most-selected choice eliminated 40 contestants when Carolina earned a 23-22 upset victory. Panthers on top!@Ticketmaster | #KeepPounding pic.twitter.com/nSBxFHX2AK — Carolina Panthers (@Panthers) November 3, 2024 After taking a 22-17 early in the fourth quarter, 20.9% of the pool was left in shock when Carolina’s Chuba Hubbard capped off a 64-yard drive by scoring his second touchdown of the game with only 2:24 remaining in the game. Following their seventh straight loss, New Orleans fired head coach Dennis Allen. Little consolation to the 40 entrants who watched their dream for the life-changing prize come to a crashing end. Cincinnati, which was the most-most selected team, delivered a comfortable 24-point win as 8-point home favorites over Las Vegas. “I’m not 🤬 leaving!”#RuleTheJungle pic.twitter.com/Uiw8lWNecJ — Cincinnati Bengals (@Bengals) November 4, 2024 Joe Burrow, who tied a career-high with five touchdown passes, piloted a dynamic air attack while Chase Brown rushed for a career-best 120 yards and a touchdown in the 42-17 rout of the Raiders. The Bengals earned their first home win (1-4), and improved to 4-5 on the season. The also kept their slim playoff hopes alive. For those of you picked Minnesota, nice play! 40 entries got eliminated today. 151 remain. We’ll check back in with you guys after the Kansas City game tomorrow! #CircaSurvivor #CircaSports #SurvivorSweat pic.twitter.com/hd9gXbSEee — Survivor Sweat (@SurvivorSweat) November 4, 2024 The Circa Survivor contest is a grueling contest which forces entrants to pick one winner every week, with no spread with one pivotal caveat. Entrants CAN NOT use the same team more than once during the course of the season. In the quest for the biggest Survivor prize in history ($14,266,000), contestants in Week 10 will likely be heavily backing: Kansas City (-9.5) vs Denver, LA Chargers (-8) vs Tennessee, San Francisco (-6.5) at Tampa Bay, Philadelphia (-6.5) at Dallas and Chicago (-6.5) vs New England. From a betting perspective, favorites hold a sizable 96-42 SU (69.6%) and 74-60-2 ATS (55.2%) edge. Home teams hold a slim 70-64 SU (52.2%) advantage (four international games) while road teams hold the coveted 74-60-4 ATS (55.2%) edge. After nine weeks, 151 of the starting 14,266 entries remain alive and continue to dream! Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 9

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 9 Welcome to our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 9! Whether you’re looking to maximize matchups or avoid pitfalls, this week’s list has you covered. From quarterbacks in high-stakes showdowns to running backs poised for big performances, each call here is geared to keep your fantasy team competitive. Subsequently, our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 8 will help you navigate that turbulence to pick a winning lineup this week. Additionally, FullTime Fantasy has some of the top tools of the trade and accurate rankings. Quarterbacks Start ‘Em Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys Kirk Cousins has been a bit of a roller coaster for fantasy managers this season. His performance has been inconsistent with three games inside the top-10 but five outside the top-20. His Pro Football Focus passing grade isn’t quite where it used to be, but he remains among the league’s top 12 quarterbacks. For a passer like Cousins, who’s effective but doesn’t rely on his legs, the key to a top-12 fantasy finish is all about multiple touchdowns. If he can score twice, he’s likely to give you a strong finish. Facing a Dallas defense that has given up the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, Cousins has a great chance. The Cowboys have allowed six passing touchdowns over the past three games, and their secondary is banged up, with cornerbacks DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs missing practices early in the week. The odds favor Cousins reaching pay dirt more than once, so he’s a smart start. Matthew Stafford, LA Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Matthew Stafford is heating up after putting up over 32 fantasy points in Week 8 against the Vikings. With both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp on the field, Stafford’s ceiling is notably higher. Now he gets the Seahawks, who have allowed four of their past five opposing quarterbacks to score at least 23 fantasy points. Given the matchup, Stafford looks like a solid top-10 option this week. Sit ‘Em Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Mayfield’s value took a hit with key receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin sidelined due to injuries. Although he compensated last week with 50 passing attempts, his Week 9 matchup against Kansas City is tough. The Chiefs haven’t allowed a single quarterback to throw three touchdowns in a game this season, making Mayfield a risky start. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills Tagovailoa was decent in his Week 8 return but only managed 16 fantasy points. He now faces a Buffalo defense that has kept him under 16 fantasy points in five of his last six matchups. The Bills rank sixth in limiting fantasy points to quarterbacks, making Tagovailoa a tough start this week. Running Backs Start ‘Em Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans vs. New England Patriots Pollard has been a reliable fantasy option, securing top-20 finishes in five games this season, even when Tyjae Spears has been active. The only time Pollard fell out of that range was when the Titans were down by a wide margin, yet he still managed some production in recent outings. The Patriots have been a favorable matchup for running backs, ranking fourth in ease of production allowed. Pollard did appear on the injury report with a foot issue this week, so if he sits, Spears could step into a significant role. D’Andre Swift, Chicago Bears vs. Arizona Cardinals Swift exploded last week with a season-high 129 yards and a touchdown, running for a solid 73% of Chicago’s offensive snaps. Now he faces the Arizona Cardinals, who have allowed the fifth-most rushing yards to running backs and are missing tackles at a league-high rate. With Swift thriving on yards after contact, this matchup seems tailor-made for him to deliver. Sit ‘Em Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens has established himself as the Broncos’ lead back, but he hasn’t been productive in games where Denver trails. This week, the Broncos are heavy underdogs to the Baltimore Ravens, who allow just 3.3 yards per carry. It’s hard to envision Williams finding much success against Baltimore’s stout run defense, making him a sit candidate. Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns vs. Los Angeles Chargers Chubb showed improvement in Week 8 but still hasn’t fully shaken off the rust from his injury. Facing the Chargers, who rank sixth in fewest rushing yards allowed to running backs, makes Chubb a risky play. Once he’s back to full form, he’ll be a stronger start, but patience is key here. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings Downs has been one of the most consistent fantasy receivers, with nine receptions in four of his last five games and 60+ yards in those games, finding the end zone in three of them. His productivity has been steady when Gardner Minshew is under center. With a matchup against the Vikings, who have allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers, Downs looks primed for a strong outing. Despite nursing a toe injury, Downs has played well through it, making him a start-worthy option in Week 9. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens Sutton is coming off a productive Week 8, where he caught eight passes for 100 yards on 11 targets. He’s had at least six targets in five games this season, converting them into 13.8+ PPR points in four games. Baltimore has allowed seven receivers to reach at least 12.9 PPR points over their last four games, making Sutton a solid WR2 option for Week 9. Sit ‘Em Keenan Allen, Chicago Bears vs. Arizona Cardinals Allen has struggled to produce in the Bears’ offense, with only one top-10 fantasy finish. Facing a Cardinals team that’s been solid against slot receivers, Allen might have a tough time making an impact, especially given the Bears’ inconsistency in the passing game. Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos Flowers faces a tough matchup against Denver, especially if Patrick Surtain II shadows him. Top receivers

Week 9 Sleepers & Emerging Players

Week 9 Sleepers, Potential-Emergent Players, and Opportunistic Plays This article is contributed by Brad Kruse This column is NOT intended to provide Week 9 Waiver Wire picks. Instead, the purpose is to look at young players whose opportunity could emerge and should be monitored. I will also look at potential injury replacement players, but I will try not to focus on the obvious choices for this week’s slate of games as that is covered elsewhere on the sight. My goal with Week 9 Sleepers & Emerging Players is to help look around corners for the season which might give some ideas for pre-emptive adds to your roster. As we enter week 9, the playoffs are starting to close in. Some teams are finding themselves mathematically out of it, others need to make some aggressive moves to get into the playoffs. Others are positioning themselves for the playoffs. This week I’ll focus exclusively on the young receivers and review how they’ve performed using targets per route run and yards per route run metrics. Young Breakout Receivers The above table looks at all first and second-year WRs who have at least a 15% targets per route run (TPRR) and 1.5 Yards per route run (YPRR) through eight weeks this year. Below are some comments on players who stood out in Week 8. Second-Year Players Josh Downs: Downs is averaging 17.7 ppg without Anthony Richardson this year and 12.7 ppg with Richardson as his starting QB. For at least Week 9, Downs gets Joe Flacco under center. With a 31% TPRR and over 2.0 yards per route run, he’s a must-start this week. Tank Dell: Dell caught all four of his targets for 35 yards and a touchdown this week. Nico Collins is on track to return, by the latest reports, in Week 9. Stefon Diggs also suffered a torn ACL ending his season. Dell’s targets should pick up going forward, and he should be getting healthier coming off his off-season surgery. There’s hope we could see a return to his 2023 form and hopefully longer aDOT. But, for now, he’s a flex play in good matchups. Demario Douglas: Douglas played limited snaps in Week 7 due to his illness and followed that up with an unproductive Week 8 while having his starting quarterback be knocked out of the game. Douglas is a borderline waiting for more consistency to develop. Cedric Tillman: Tillman is coming onto the scene after the trade of Amari Cooper. Over the last two weeks, Tillman only trails Jerry Jeudy in route participation but leads all Browns pass catchers in targets, yards, and touchdowns. His targets per route run of 26% and Yards per route run of 2.22 would qualify him in the top category of the table above had he been able to perform to that level all season. But, with his new role, he projects to be a key piece in this offense with Jameis Winston at the helm. Rookies Jordan Whittington: Whittington has been productive in the brief stint without both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua in the lineup; however, they are both back so Whittington is only a stash play hoping for an opportunity. Ladd McConkey: McConkey had a huge game this past week with six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. McConkey has had at least six targets in the last in all games but one this year. This is the first week he broke 67 yards receiving and found the end zone multiple times. He’s now averaging 13.1 points per game. He’s a flex consideration play going forward. Devaughn Vele: Vele’s targets have dropped to three targets in each of the last two games after collecting 14 in his first two games. He’s probably on the outside looking in with his declining participation combined with his low draft capital. Adonai Mitchell: Mitchell gets some recognition this week due to the change at quarterback. Mitchell’s impressive 36% targets per route run this year is impressive. His low catch percentage contributes to his sub-standard 1.4 yards per route run. For the year, Mitchell has only caught about 25% of his targets from Richardson. This increases to 55% under Flacco. He’s a risky start any given week, but his prospects increase with Flacco under center. Xavier Legette: With Diontae Johnson traded, each of the receivers on the team move up the pecking order. Legette, Carolina’s first-round draft in 2024, would seem to benefit. He is not likely to be a huge difference maker in the Panther’s offense, but his 21% targets per route run and catching touchdowns in successive weeks could lead to playable weeks for this rookie receiver. Injury Report: Week 9 Also, a great starting point for staying updated on the latest injuries is to bookmark our NFL Injury Report. Finally, FullTime Fantasy Members will get the latest NFL injury news and advice live each Sunday and Thursday in the FullTime Fantasy Discord. Click below to join us today! Stefon Diggs (WR) Houston Texans – Diggs tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season. Another top-level wideout is lost. The good news for the Texans is Nico Collins will be back in Week 10. Jordan Love (QB) Green Bay Packers – Love is questionable with a “mild” groin strain. If he sits, the entire Green Bay offense must be downgraded. Tee Higgins (WR) Cincinnati Bengals – Higgins is week-to-week with a quad injury. Unfortunately, the injury occurred at last Friday’s practice, causing Higgins to miss Week 8. Also, there is a chance it will carry over into this week. We will monitor his practice participation. T.J. Hockenson (TE) Minnesota Vikings – There’s a very good chance the Vikings will welcome Hockenson back to the fold for his 2024 debut. However, he may be on a snap count. TJ Hockenson will be added to the active roster pic.twitter.com/dhWj3j7RHl — Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) October 25, 2024 Brian Thomas Jr. (WR) Jacksonville Jaguars – Thomas has a chest contusion. However, he should be able to play through it albeit there is a chance he will be limited. We will update Discord as news develops. Meanwhile, teammate Gabe Davis is dealing with a shoulder ailment but it is not considered serious. Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB) New York Giants – Tracy is in the NFL concussion protocol and will have to clear five steps before he can return. Consider him very questionable for Week 9. Christian Kirk (WR) Jacksonville Jaguars – Kirk broke his clavicle and will miss the rest of the season. Derek Carr (QB) New Orleans Saints – There is optimism that Carr (oblique) will return this week. If he does, it will be a huge boost for a Saints’ squad that has lost six straight. Drake Maye (QB) New England Patriots – New England’s rookie signal-caller is also in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The average recovery time is 8-10 days, so Maye will have a tough time clearing it for Week 9. Jacoby Brissett is next man up. Allen Lazard (WR) New York Jets – After missing last week, Lazard (chest) is week-to-week. Jonathon Brooks (RB) Carolina Panthers – There is a good chance Brooks will make his NFL debut this week. However, the Panthers are going nowhere and Brooks is going to be on a snap count. That makes him a very risky play, even if he’s active. Bub Means (WR) New Orleans Saints – A high-ankle sprain will sideline Means for 2-4 weeks. ENTER OUR WEEK 9 DRAFT CONTEST! How it Works: Firstly, draft your team using our On-Demand Simulator. FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 9

Points were at a premium during Week 9 of the 2023 Fulltime Fantasy Football regular season. With some high-scoring teams on a BYE, plus 7 of 14 games totaling 37 points or less, we had our lowest-scoring week of the season. Here is a look at the Top 20 Leaderboards across the four Major FFWC XI Tournaments in our FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 9. Fantasy Football World Championship Missing the fantasy firepower of the Lions, Jaguars, and 49ers, plus several dismal QB performances, scoring was down in the race to claim the $150K FFWC XI Grand Prize. After a season-high 90,053.45 points were scored last week, the total fell to 76,963.00 combined points this week. Five new teams joined the FTF World Championship Top 20 Leaderboard following Week 9 action. Including the overall leader, just three positions in the Top 20 went unchanged week-over-week. For the eighth straight week, Just(in) Time (6-3) continues as the FFWC XI overall leader. Partly due to a down week for QB Justin Herbert, plus missing RB Christian McCaffrey due to a BYE, Simeon Yarbrough and Brian Marzorini posted a season-low 119.90 points. That helped draw the top ten teams closer together. Down from 86.50 points last week, the gap is now 58.70 points. With the most points in FFWC SLOW 4, Just(in) Time sits in the #2 playoff spot. Sitting with a 9-0 record, House of Orange owns the #1 playoff spot. Moving up two spots, from fourth to second, Team Honeycutt sits just 13.25 points out of first overall. Steve Honeycutt‘s FFWC Online 8/22 9 PM ET squad posted 154.10 points. C.J. Stroud, a $360 Week 4 FAAB acquisition, led the way with 46.50 points. Steve’s squad leads his league by 152.35 points and sits tied at 8-1 with Team Meyer. Those two squads battle H2H in two weeks. Slipping one spot, Zefurs went from second to third overall. Despite posting a season-low 107.40 points, KJ Duke’s (8-1) won his H2H match with Cobb Nation (7-2). Zefurs now has the Best Record, and the Most Points, in FFWC 9/3 9 PM ET. With five weeks to go, KJ has moved into a $10K Dominator position. New to the top five, Zefurs II (7-2) has moved from 34th back in Week 6, to 15th, then sixth, and now fourth overall. KJ Dukes FFWC Online 9/3 1 PM ET team posted 147.50 points. He now sits just 9.00 points behind his third-place squad. He also closed the gap from 64.15 to 36.55 points in the race for first place overall. Rounding out the top five, Mr Yellow Stickers (7-2) slipped from third to fifth place. Mike Schlissberg’s crew posted 104.9 points and sits 45.85 points out of the top spot. Based on the current standings, Mike leads the Most Points race by 214.35 in his FFWC CIRCA 9/9 3 PM PT league. His lead is over Surf n Turf who, despite a 2-7 record, has 1255.10 points and currently holds the Most Points #2 playoff position. Our FFWC XI “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Nugget 10 (4-5) who posted a FFWC Week 9 high 195.20 points. Justin Herron’s FFWC Online 9/2 1 PM ET squad moved from 306th to 150th overall and into a playoff position. Nugget 10 moved into the Most Points #1 playoff position in his league. The Most Points #2 playoff position belongs to Team Meyer (3-6) who is just 24.70 points back. Justin defeated William 195.20 to 160.05 in their H2H matchup last week. After 14 teams posted at least 200 points last week, no one reached that plateau during Week 9 action. Down slightly from 22.48 last week, if the playoffs started this week, just 18.40 points would separate the Top 100 FFWC XI teams. The undefeated number dropped, from seven teams at 8-0 last week, to five heading into Week 10. Miss New Booty VII (6th OA), Angels Envy (15th), House of Orange I (28th), Team Stanton (51st), and Team Salamone (82nd) are still perfect with a 9-0 record Circa Las Vegas Fantasy Championship Our inaugural FullTime Fantasy Circa LVFC Tournament went from season-high scoring last week to the lowest-scoring week of the year. After 158,114.20 combined points were scored in Week 8, the total slipped to 134,042.00 during Week 9 action. Four new teams entered the Top 20 Leaderboard and the Top 5 overall shifted slightly. Similar to the FFWC XI Tournament, many of the Circa LVFC leaders stumbled last week as well. Team Leave It In posted 122.95 points and retained first overall for a third straight week. Mike Moore and Mike Scherneck’s Circa LVFC 9/6 10 PM ET team pushed their record to 7-2. They currently sit in the Most Points #1 playoff position in their league, and trail Team Two From the Q (8-1) by one game. Moving up three spots, Team Reece (7-2) went from fifth to second overall. Dustin Reece’s Circa LVFC 8/5 11:45 PM ET squad posted 141.25 points. During a low-scoring week, that was the highest total of the current top seven teams. After entering the week 46.60 off the lead, Dustin is now 28.30 points out of first overall. Retaining third place, for a second straight week, Team Mitchell 2 (9-0) stumbled along with the rest of the leaders. Mark Mitchell’s LVFC 7/15/23 squad posted 126.35 points but remains as one of just four undefeated teams. Mark sits 34.35 points out of first place and leads his league by 151.55 points. Team 2 Bros DP (6-3) slipped from second to fourth overall. Robbie Dinges and Pat Evevard’s Circa LVFC SLOW 5 squad posted 119.05 points. Team 2 Bros DP are 37.10 points out of first and lead their league by 154.60 points. Robbie and Pat face a BYE quagmire that will test the depth of their squad during Week 10 action. Appearing in the Top 5, for the first time this season, Team Two From the Q moved from sixth to fifth place. Bob Campanella’s squad
