Circa Survivor Report: Week 5

Kyler Murray

Circa Survivor Report: Week 5 CIRCA SURVIVOR WEEK 5: UPSETS LEAVE LESS 2% OF POOL ALIVE The madness ruling the NFL landscape continued in Week 5, as the ultimate ‘kiss of death’ of choosing the most popular selections KO’d 51.2% of the remaining Circa Survivor NFL $1,000 entry fee contest. Overall, 233 entrants were eliminated from winning a share of the life-changing prize. Contestants heavily invested in both touchdown-plus home favorites Seattle and San Francisco. However, for the fourth time in five weeks, the most-selected choice was a bad move as Seattle was upset to the dismay of 160 entrants.   Seahawks suffer their second consecutive loss at the hands of the Giants! pic.twitter.com/kyw4h7tDn5 — FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) October 6, 2024   Playing without both starting WR Malik Nabers and RB Devin Singletary, 33.3% of the pool faded a struggling Giants squad. However, the extremely short-handed Giants went into Lumen Field and shocked Geno Smith and the Seahawks 29-20. San Francisco was the second-most selected team as 86 entries selected Brock Purdy and the 49ers to beat Arizona at home.   The @AZCardinals stun the 49ers on the road! 😤 pic.twitter.com/qQCQY9hnbE — FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) October 6, 2024   However, the 49ers allowed James Conner and Kyler Murray to run for 169 yards and a touchdown on the ground, dashing the dreams of 17.9% of contestants. After being pummeled 42-14 last week by Washington, Arizona rebounded for a 24-23 come-from-behind win, proving once again that parity is the story of the 2024 NFL. After five weeks, only 221 (0.15%) of the starting 14,266 entries remain alive.’   Kansas City wins against New Orleans so nothing changes in the Circa Survivor contest! That officially concludes Week 5. 259 entries total got clipped this week putting the pool at just 221 entries #CircaSports #CircaSurvivor #SurvivorSweat pic.twitter.com/a1aOiweKd7 — Survivor Sweat (@SurvivorSweat) October 8, 2024   The anxiety will ratchet up to another level in Week 6 for the surviving entrants as Kansas City, Los Angeles Rams, Miami, and Minnesota are on bye.  The Circa Survivor contest is a grueling contest which forces entrants to pick one winner every week, with no spread with one pivotal caveat. Entrants CAN NOT use the same team more than once during the course of the season.  In the race for $14,266,000 – the biggest Survivor prize in history – those who will be competing in Week 6 will likely be heavily backing: Houston (-7) at New England and Philadelphia (-9) vs Cleveland.  If those teams are unavailable to be used, things could get very tricky as 10 of the 14 games (71.4%) on the slate have a point spread of 4.5 points or less. We could potentially be looking at less than 1% of the pool alive after just six weeks of NFL action – something no one could ever have imagined. Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 5

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 5 Bye weeks have arrived to complicate matter for fantasy managers. Additionally, Week 4 brought the latest crop of injuries in what is shaping up to be a disastrous season. Our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 5 will help you determine which players make good fill-ins, and which ones to avoid. Subsequently, our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 5 will help you navigate that turbulence to pick a winning lineup this week. Additionally, FullTime Fantasy has some of the top tools of the trade and accurate rankings. Quarterbacks  Start ‘Em Justin Fields (Chicago Bears) vs. Carolina Panthers  Justin Fields delivered a massive 32 fantasy points in his last game, the highest for any quarterback this season. He ranks seventh among his peers with a strong 78.1 PFF passing grade. This week, Fields is up against the Dallas Cowboys, which may not be the most favorable matchup, but his recent performances have solidified him as a must-start QB in fantasy lineups moving forward. Deshaun Watson (Cleveland Browns) at Washington Commanders The Commanders have been a goldmine for opposing quarterbacks, allowing the most fantasy points to the position. Watson has underwhelmed in three of his four outings this year, failing to surpass 15.4 fantasy points in those contests, including a low 14.2 points against Las Vegas in Week 4. However, Week 5 presents a juicy opportunity against Washington, where quarterbacks are averaging 25.8 fantasy points per game. If the Browns can keep Watson upright—he’s been sacked 19 times already—he could be a sneaky starter in one-QB leagues. Sit ‘Em Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. New Orleans Saints Mahomes has been struggling from a fantasy perspective, surpassing 20 points just once in his last nine regular-season games. You’d have to go back to Week 7 of last season to find the last time he hit 25 fantasy points. Now, with Rashee Rice out, his top receiver, it’s hard to trust Mahomes in one-QB leagues. Despite his incredible talent, he seems more focused on winning than padding stats, and the Saints have been tough on opposing QBs, allowing no more than 15.2 fantasy points in a game this season. Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets) at Minnesota Vikings What year is this that I am recommending to sit Mahomes AND Rodgers? Rodgers has only posted one top-10 fantasy finish in the past three seasons. This week, he faces a Vikings’ defense that ranks sixth in the NFL, allowing just 4.4 adjusted net yards per pass attempt. On top of that, Rodgers is dealing with a knee injury and was limited in practice. It’s hard to recommend starting him in this tough matchup. Running Backs Start ‘Em Najee Harris (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Dallas Cowboys Harris disappointed last week, managing 73 scoreless yards in a loss to the Colts. But don’t overlook his high usage rates. He logged a season-high 69% snap rate, ran routes on 62% of passing plays, claimed 65% of the team’s RB carries, and secured a 17.6% target share—also a season high. With Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson potentially sidelined for Week 5, Harris is primed for another heavy workload against a Cowboys defense that had been vulnerable to the run before facing the Giants last week. Jerome Ford (Cleveland Browns) at Washington Commanders Jerome Ford has quietly tied Alvin Kamara for third-most targets among running backs, making him a reliable fantasy option. He’s posted double-digit fantasy points in all but one game, twice surpassing the 15-point mark. This week, Ford faces a Commanders’ defense that has allowed explosive runs (10+ yards) on 22% of opposing rushes, the highest in the league. With such a favorable matchup, Ford has the potential to put up a huge game. Sit ‘Em Zack Moss (Cincinnati Bengals) vs. Baltimore Ravens Moss came through for fantasy managers last week, but there are red flags. He split carries with Chase Brown and even saw Brown take over goal-line duties. To make matters worse, the Bengals face the Ravens in Week 5, a defense that’s been stellar against the run. Baltimore has allowed the fewest rushing yards to RBs this season and hasn’t given up an explosive run in four games. Avoid Moss if you can. Rico Dowdle (Dallas Cowboys) at Pittsburgh Steelers Dowdle had his best performance of the year in Week 4, putting up 13.1 PPR points. While he should be rostered, especially if he takes over more of the Cowboys’ backfield, Week 5 isn’t the time to start him. The Steelers have been stingy against running backs, allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to the position and only one touchdown to RBs all season. Subsequently, Dowdle is a risky flex option at best. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Dontayvion Wicks (Green Bay Packers) at Los Angeles Rams I’ve been high on Wicks since the offseason, and he’s delivered on a per-route basis in his first 2 NFL seasons. With Christian Watson out, Wicks is set to see a significant increase in snaps. The Packers face the Rams this week, whose defense ranks 27th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Wicks will be running most of their routes on the outside, where the Rams have struggled the most. Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders) vs. Cleveland Browns McLaurin has amassed 50.1 fantasy points this season, placing him 25th among wide receivers. The Browns, McLaurin’s Week 5 opponents, have the eighth-lowest team coverage grade this season, even though they’ve been solid in coverage for much of 2023. Therefore, McLaurin could exploit this weakness if the game script favors Washington’s passing attack. Sit ‘Em Jaylen Waddle (Miami Dolphins) at New England Patriots Waddle has been nearly invisible in the Dolphins’ offense since Tua Tagovailoa went down with an injury. Over the past two weeks, he’s managed just 8 catches for 62 yards. With Miami likely to lean on their running game against the Patriots’ shaky run defense, Waddle could see another low-target day. Therefore, he’s not a must-start this

Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 5

Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 4

In Week 3, the AFC East let us down with a non-competitive drubbing. This week, things have more potential with the Dallas Cowboys traveling to New Jersey to face the Giants. Hopefully, the second week in a row in this venue has more scoring. The FullTime Fantasy Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 4 looks at all the fantasy-relevant players to forecast the game.

It’s always entertaining to watch these two NFC East rivals square off. The Cowboys are reeling after dropping two straight home games. Conversely, they had won their previous 17 at AT&T Stadium. Therefore, they’re probably welcoming a change of scenery. And a game against a foe they’ve defeated in 11 of their last 12 matchups.

Conversely, the Giants are coming off of an upset win in Cleveland. New York’s offense has been more competent after their opener. With some momentum, they’re trying to get to 500 while simultaneously delivering a knockout punch to their hated rivals.

This game opened with Dallas favored by four. However, the line quickly jumped up to Dallas -6. The total stands at 45, up a meager half-point from its opening total.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
Dallas Cowboys 9 1 30 16 6
New York Giants 22 21 19 25 29

The Dallas offensive ranks look good on paper. However, a big chunk of that production came in futile comeback attempts in their past two losses. The lack of balance and inability to run the ball has hurt the Cowboys.

Additionally, the Dallas defense has crumbled.

The Cowboys currently rank 28th in overall defense and have allowed the third-most points. Dallas ranks dead last against the run and has allowed 28-plus points in every game.

New York is surrendering 318 yards of offense per game, which is middle of the pack. However, only three teams have scored fewer points. Look for the Giants to try to slow things down and exploit that struggling defense.

On defense, the Giants rank 13th against the pass. They’re worst against the run (23rd) but don’t expect Dallas to be able to exploit that.

The real question here is can the Cowboys stop the bleeding to cool off Mike McCarthy’s hot seat?

Dallas Offense

Dak Prescott leads the league with 851 passing yards. However, touchdowns have been hard to come by. Prescott has only thrown…

Week 5 Sleepers & Emerging Players

AllenWeek 5 Sleepers, Potential-Emergent Players, and Opportunistic Plays This article is contributed by Brad Kruse This column is NOT intended to provide Week 5 waiver claims lists. Instead, the purpose is to look at young players whose opportunity could emerge and should be monitored. I will also look at potential injury replacement players, but I will try not to focus on the obvious choices for this week’s slate of games as that is covered elsewhere on the sight. My goal is to help look around corners for the season which might give some ideas for pre-emptive adds to your roster.  Now that we have four weeks in the books, I can start extrapolating on statistics a bit more reliably. Young Running Backs and Their Opportunity Status Bucky Irving: The story with Irving continued into Week 4. Irving and Rachaad White both had 10 carries for 49 yards in this game. Irving had the lone RB TD. White out-targeted Irving 2:1 in the game. Irving is earning snaps and opportunities in this offense. White hasn’t gone away but he’s used far less than last season. Irving can be put into lineups during the byes. Chase Brown: Brown did get the 50/50 split with RB carries in Week 4 that has been indicated as the plan since the off-season. Brown’s fantasy day was much larger with 80 yards on 15 carries plus two rushing touchdowns to go along with two receptions for 12 yards. Brown might be the back to own in this offense going forward, but Zack Moss is still playing well. Brown’s speed does jump out at you and Moss seems to be the preferred back in passing situations. Moss received all snaps in the two-minute drill and 60% of the third down action.  Carson Steele: This might have been a short-lived lead-back role for Steele. After a fumble in the first quarter, Kareem Hunt led the way from the 2nd quarter through the end of the game. He played well enough for the offense to operate. Samaje Perine was still the preferred third down and two-minute drill back. That didn’t leave a whole lot of action for Steele. You might hold him if you can afford to for another week to see if he can reprise his role or if the fumble gave way to an opportunity that Hunt seized.  Ray Davis: Davis again received some garbage time action in week 4. He’s not in the rotation enough to trust in your lineups and is strictly a handcuff right now who could split time with Ty Johnson if an injury happens to James Cook.  Braelon Allen: The Jets seem to have a problem, although a good problem. They have two good running backs. Breece Hall is struggling running the ball this year averaging only 3.11 yards per carry. Allen is averaging a robust 4.81 and seems to be getting used more each game. Allen is averaging 9.4 ppg and would be huge if Hall were to get injured. He’s useable during bye weeks and a premium handcuff for fantasy managers.  Roschon Johnson: The Bears have shrunk their three-headed running back committee to two backs. Johnson has gone from the outside looking in at the crowded running back rotation to part of the two-person committee. He didn’t have the break-out day many were hoping for as signals were coming in saying he would be used more. Johnson did get the majority of third-down work, he got a goal-line carry. But he ceded most of the two-minute snaps to D’Andre Swift who had a huge fantasy day. Johnson’s usage was encouraging despite the modest fantasy output despite the touchdown. He appears to be the current backup to Swift as he took about 25% of the early down work plus got the majority of third-down activity and one of the two goal-line touches.  Jaylen Wright: With both Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson OUT, Wright continued to earn opportunities. His usage excluded short yardage and goal line – all of those went to De’Von Achane, other than that he was used on early downs, third down, and even in the two-minute drill. He hasn’t yielded a fantasy day yet and the Dolphins offense is struggling without Tua. If he can carve out a role good things could happen once Tua Tagovaioa returns. However, he could also disappear once Mostert returns. Tank Bigsby: Bigsby played a fair number of snaps in week 4, but D’Ernest Johnson picked up 4 third-down snaps to Bigsby’s one. Bigsby again demonstrated his proficiency in running the ball with 90 yards on seven carries. Unfortunately, he didn’t receive any targets in the passing game, nor did he score a TD. He carries premium handcuff appeal as well as being usable during byes, but if Travis Etienne were to go down, the passing down work would like to go to Johnson. Breakout Wide Receivers Sophomore Wideouts Jayden Reed: Reed has continued with strong performances after his rookie breakout campaign. The crowded receiver room made many drafters nervous. But Reed’s talent has come to the forefront. He’s only run 72.6% of routes but is securing a decent, if underwhelming 18% target share. His yards per route run of 3.43 is elite. The Packers need to get him the ball more. Rashee Rice: Another rookie year breakout that looked to have a secondary breakout this year. Going into week 4, Rice was participating in 76.9% of routes and had an outstanding 31% target share from Mahomes. His yards per route run of 3.60 was looking to provide league-winning numbers for those who drafted him. However, in week 4 he looked to have suffered a significant knee injury. Many have speculated it was a season-ending torn ACL. At the time of this writing, however, they have yet to confirm that and provide any timeline. Hopefully, we will learn in the next day or two so fantasy managers can make appropriate lineup decisions. Dontayvion Wicks: Wicks got his QB back and, unfortunately, Watson

Injury Report: Week 5

Anthony Richardson

Injury Report: Week 5 2024 will be remembered as a season filled with attrition. Another week is in the books and another round of injuries will impact lineups. Our Injury Report: Week 5 catches you up on the latest in the never-ending run of ailments. Also, a great starting point for staying updated on the latest injuries is to bookmark our NFL Injury Report. Finally, FullTime Fantasy Members will get the latest NFL injury news and advice live each Sunday and Thursday in the FullTime Fantasy Discord. Click below to join us today! Rachee Rice (WR) Kansas City Chiefs – Only in a season as cruel as 2024 could a star wideout be injured by his own QB’s errant tackle. It was immediately feared that Rice suffered a torn ACL. However, the fact that an MRI was ordered is a good sign. Still, we’re looking at a multi-week absence.   “There’s a glimmer of hope open for the season,” @profootballdoc explains why the Chiefs not confirming a Rashee Rice ACL tear on Monday could be good news for the WR. #chiefskingdom ▶️https://t.co/ayUZWb8aWE pic.twitter.com/kYlvFPkVzB — Sports Injury Central (@SICscore) October 1, 2024 Anthony Richardson (QB) Indianapolis Colts – Separate hip and oblique injuries forced Richardson out of Indy’s Week 4 win. That victory was led by Joe Flacco, whose presence could cause Colts’ management to give their sophomore signal caller more time off to heal. For now, Richardson is day-to-day. Jonathan Taylor (RB) Indianapolis Colts – The Colts could also be missing RB Jonathan Taylor, who is dealing with an ankle injury. We will monitor his practice status this week and adjust projections accordingly.   Jonathan Taylor – Late game right ankle sprain. Fits a potential high ankle mechanism, he had it taped up but didn’t return (remained standing on the sideline). Main concern: past history of right ankle injury. We’ll see if he practices on Wednesday. pic.twitter.com/YHoCE1hNMY — Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT (@jmthrivept) September 29, 2024   Malik Nabers (WR) New York Giants – Nabers exited Thursday’s loss with a concussion. The good news is Nabers has an extra two days to clear the league’s concussion protocol. Davante Adams (WR) Las Vegas Raiders – A hamstring injury suffered in practice kept Adams out for Week 4. Then, because…Raiders…. head coach Antonio Pierce allegedly liked an Instagram post that opined that Adams had played his last down for the team. This is leading to wild trade speculation. Additionally, some are questioning the validity of the hamstring ailment versus Adams simply being at odds with the staff. This remains a day-to-day situation we’ll have to monitor.   More on this to come: A league source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the @Raiders are growing open to the idea of trading Davante Adams. The source said the club has begun reaching out to teams to gauge interest in the veteran wide receiver. — Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) October 1, 2024 Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers – A “mild” high-ankle sprain will keep Watson out for 2-3 weeks. Dontayvious Wicks warrants immediate WR3 status while Watson is sidelined. Bijan Robinson (RB) Atlanta Falcons – Robinson is dealing with a hamstring injury and may not practice on a short week. We have downgraded his Week 5 projections. Christian McCaffrey (RB) San Francisco 49ers – The latest reports are McCaffrey has Achilles tendinitis in both legs. However, the team said that McCaffrey could begin light running duty soon. If those reports of tendinitis are correct, it’s doubtful CMC will be back anytime soon. Additionally, Jordan Mason is second in the NFL in rushing. Raheem Mostert (RB) Miami Dolphins – Mostert (chest) was close to playing on Monday. He’s questionable for Week 5 but trending in a positive direction. Will Levis (QB) Tennessee Titans – Levis hurt his shoulder on Monday. He was replaced by Mason Rudolph. Levis did not return. We will monitor his status this week and update Discord. David Njoku (TE) Cleveland Browns – Njoku (knee) will return to practice, putting him in position to play Week 5. Nick Chubb (RB) Cleveland Browns – The Browns opened the 21-day practice window for Nick Chubb. That means Chubb can practice and come off the PUP list. However, he’s not in the clear, but this is positive progress. Evan Engram (TE) Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jaguars could get Engram (hamstring) back in Week 5. Jonathon Brooks (RB) Carolina Panthers – Carolina did NOT open Brooks’s 21-day practice window.   ENTER OUR WEEK 5 DRAFT CONTEST! How it Works: Firstly, draft your team using our On-Demand Simulator. Waiver Wire: Week 5

Hard to believe we’re already into the second month of the 2024 fantasy football season. Week 4 had its share of highlights, injuries, and non-productive tight ends. The Waiver Wire: Week 5 will catch you up on the latest crop of low-rostered players to target for reinforcements.

Along with knowing who to pick up, FullTime Fantasy‘s Matchup Analyzer Tool will help you get the most out of your lineup.

Here are the low-rostered players you should consider adding before the season’s fifth week.

circa

Dontayvion Wicks (WR) Green Bay Packers – After Christian Watson went down with a high-ankle sprain, Wicks played 58 snaps and absorbed a career-high 13(!) targets. Of course, we can’t count on that sort of fantasy-friendly game script each week. However, Watson is a candidate to miss multiple weeks, putting Wicks in position to be a WR3 or better for the foreseeable future. A healthy bid of 30-plus percent of your FAAB may be required. Teammate Romeo Doubs would be a solid consolation prize for those who miss out on Wicks.

Kareem Hunt (RB) Kansas City Chiefs – Hunt is most likely rostered in your league. However, an…

FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 5

FFWC XI

Week 5, of the 2023 Fulltime Fantasy Football season, is now complete. It started with a gravy train of fantasy points, posted during Thursday Night Football, and ended with a fantasy dud during Monday Night Football. Our FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 5 covers all the action. Here is a look at the Top 20 Leaderboards across the four Major FTF Tournaments. FFWC XI World Championship Tournament Following Week 5 action, the race to claim the $150K FFWC XI Grand Prize has tightened at the top. Heading into Week 6, the FTF World Championship Top 20 Leaderboard is populated by ten new teams. After there was just one last week, there are now four same-league battles within the Top 20 teams. Make it a 4-Peat for Just(in) Time as they continue as the FFWC XI overall leader for a fourth straight week. However, Simeon Yarbrough and Brian Marzorini slipped slightly, with 144.4 points, and their record fell to 4-1. The good news is they still lead their WC SLOW 4 league by 78.5 points. After sitting 302nd overall after Week 1, Mr Yellow Stickers (4-1) has been making a steady climb. Mike Schlissberg’s WC Circa Hybrid squad moved to 102nd after Week 2, then 12th, then ninth, and is now second overall. Sitting 64.20 points out of first place, heading into Week 5, Mr Yellow Stickers posted 189.20 points and is now just 21.30 off the pace. Moving up eleven spots, from 14th to third, Zefurs IV (5-0) is another steady riser. Up from 93rd, back in Week 2, KJ Duke’s WC 9/3 9 PM ET squad scored 199.35 points. That moved Zefurs IV from 76.5 to just 21.55 points out of first place. Zefurs IV has averaged 192.3 points, over the last three weeks. Climbing into the FFWC XI Top 20, for the first time this season, Chi-Town Bully 4 moved from 24th to fourth place overall. Racking up 185.2 points, Chris Lajawa’s squad moved from 95.3 to just 54.50 points out of the top spot. Chi-Town (5-0) is the last undefeated team in the FFWC 8/13 7 PM ET league. Rounding out the Top 5, Team Schinker jumped from 12th to fifth overall. Now averaging 170.15 points per week, Chris Schinker’s squad posted 164.20 points during Week 5. Hooked into the very competitive 8/18 WC GrindTime league, Team Schinker has a slim 14.0 lead over Coyotes Miscreants (3-2) who sit 13th on the overall Top 20 leaderboard. For the second straight week, our FFWC XI “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Coyote Miscreants (WC 8/9 9 PM ET) who piled up a Week 5 high 230.90 points. After racking up 233.35 points last week, that team now owns the top two weekly high scores. They have moved from 521st after Week 3, to 140th after Week 4, to 15th overall heading into Week 6. Down from 53 teams, at 4-0 after Week 4 action, 30 FFWC XI squads still own a perfect 5-0 record. Just six of those teams are in the current Top 20 overall. After 13 squads posted at least 200 points last week, that number jumped to 21 during Week 5. Ten of those totals are now on the Top 17 weekly high score list. Circa Las Vegas Fantasy Championship Week 5 action brought a boatload of changes to the inaugural FullTime Fantasy Circa LVFC Tournament. Four new teams occupy the top four overall positions, and nine new squads entered the Top 20 list.  For the fifth straight week, we have a new FTF Circa LVFC leader as Team LOB (5-0) moved from seventh to first overall. Mark Deming’s Circa LVFC 7/16 10:00 PM ET squad posted 203.85 points. While that’s an impressive total, it was just the 21st-highest Week 5 score. That team is now averaging 183.4 points per week and is the first Circe LVFC squad to eclipse 900 points. Moving up ten spots, Team 2 Bros DP jumped from 12th to second place overall. Robert Dinges’ Circa LVFC SLOW 5 squad posted 196.40 points. 2 Bros DP has made an impressive climb up the leaderboard as they were in 510th place after Week 1 action.  After beginning the year in 260th overall, then climbing to 29th place, Team Miller has now spent the last three weeks in the top six overall. Jason Miller’s squad posted 179.45 points and moved from sixth to third. Team Miller (5-0) is the last undefeated team and has a 128.0-point lead in the Circa LVFC 8/27 5 PM ET league. Another steady climber, after scoring 125.30 points and sitting 548th overall in Week 1, Team Leave It In (3-2) has jumped into fourth place. Michael Scherneck’s Circa LVFC 9/6 10 PM ET squad has been a model of consistency with 187.00, 182.85, 196.25, and 183.95 points posted over the last four weeks. Tumbling five spots, our Week 4 leader slipped from first to fifth overall. After posting 194.75 points last week, Team Taylor (3-2) dipped to 136.50 points during Week 5 action. Charlie Taylor’s squad still leads the Circa LVFC 6/16 10:30 PM ET league by 36.85 points. Our FTF Circa LVFC “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Team D in the Circa LVFC Beat Dr. Roto Act II league. Marcos Diaz’s squad racked up 257.05 points, which is the second-highest LVFC weekly score this season. Miss New Booty III still holds the top mark with 265.50 points scored back in Week 3. Making a huge leap, Team D moved from 219th to ninth place overall. Up just one, from 19 squads last week, 20 teams surpassed the 200-point plateau during Week 5 action. Four of those totals are now on the Top 12 weekly high score list. After 86 teams entered Week 4 with a perfect 4-0 record, just 40 of the 1,056 Circa LVFC teams are still undefeated. Week 5 DFS: Wide Receiver Report

From 2020 to 2022, eight wide receivers averaged more than 20.00 fantasy points in PPR formats. Half of these outcomes came from Tyreek Hill (20.57 and 20.43) and Davante Adams (22.46 and 20.25). After four weeks this season, eight wideouts stand tall in the land of elite outcomes compared to four running backs. The highest average for a tight end in 2023 is 14.08 fantasy by T.J. Hockenson.

In Week 4, A.J. Brown (38.50), Stefon Diggs (36.00), Nico Collins (35.80), and Puka Nacua (31.30) posted impact games, pushing the season total for wide receivers with more than 30.00 fantasy points to 12 (eight over the past two weeks). Five other wideouts scored between 20.00 and 30.00 fantasy points last week.

Here’s a look at the five scoring wide receivers heading into Week 5:

  • Justin Jefferson (104.30)
  • Keenan Allen (103.45)
  • Tyreek Hill (100.40)
  • Puka Nacua (95.50)
  • Stefon Diggs (94.90)

Tyreek Hill, MIA (DK – $9,000/FD – $9,400)

Hill saw his three-game scoring streak end last week against Buffalo while seeing only five targets (3/72). In his two starts vs. division opponents, he had eight catches for 122 yards on 14 targets compared to two elite games (11/215/2 and 9/157/1) in his other two matchups. I mentioned in another Hill profile this year that he started 2022 with a rhythm of an elite outcome every other week over the first eight games (8/94, 11/190/2, 2/33, 10/160, 7/47, 12/177, 7/72, and 12/188), something that has repeated out of the gate this season.

The Giants rank better than expected vs. wide receivers (12th – 41/540/4 on 64 targets) over the first month of the season, considering they allow more than 30 points a game with 14 touchdowns. Deebo Samuel (6/129/1) is the only wideout to gain more than 100 yards receiving. Miami will look to take advantage of CB Adoree Jackson (16/236/1 on 24 targets – 14.8 yards per catch per PFF) in this matchup.

Hill brings the explosiveness to the table, and the success of Miami’s run game only helps with his spacing in the secondary. He should bounce back in this game, but follow-through in the second half could be an issue if New York doesn’t put up a fight on the scoreboard. It’s a winning matchup where at least one long touchdown should be expected…

Week 5 DFS: Running Back Report

Christian McCaffrey (48.70 fantasy points) was the best running back in the land in Week 4, thanks to 186 combined yards with four touchdowns and seven catches. David Montgomery climbed off the injury mat to post an exceptional day (32/121/3 with two catches for 20 yards). There was a tight battle between Josh Jacobs (27.90), Kyren Williams (27.70), and De’Von Achane (27.00) for the bronze medal for the week. Four other backs scored between 21.00 and 25.00 fantasy points in PPR formats, followed by 13 running backs with 10.00 to 20.00 fantasy points.

The Dolphins have two of the top four scoring backs, with both players (Raheem Mostert – 22.60 and De’Von Achane – 20.05) averaging more than 20.00 fantasy points. Here’s a look at the top five running backs after Week 4:

  • Christian McCaffrey (120.00)
  • Raheem Mostert (90.40)
  • Kyren Williams (81.60)
  • De’Von Achane (80.20 – 97.3% of his scoring came in his last two games).
  • Kenneth Walker (73.60)

Christian McCaffrey, SF (DK – $9,400/FD – $10,700)

I bumped up McCaffrey’s projections late last week after Elijah Mitchell was trending toward a scratch on Sunday. The added touches cleared the hurdle for a potential second score and more production in yards and catches. He finished with an impact day, one needed to win in the DFS market. His success raised his season average to 32.25 fantasy points in DraftKings scoring. The 49ers had him on the field for 85% of their plays, leading to a season-high in touches (27 – averaging 24.5 chances).

Dallas leads the NFL in fantasy running back defense (12.90 FPPG). Despite their success, the Cowboys allow 4.6 yards per rush (70/306/2 to running backs). They’ve faced four subpar offenses (NYG, NYJ, ARI, and NE) while playing from the lead in three matchups. Backs only have 15 catches for 65 yards on 21 targets. In 2022, Dallas had the second-best defense (18.08 FPPG) vs. running backs, with no team scoring more than 30.50 fantasy points in PPR leagues.

Mitchell didn’t practice this week, suggesting McCaffrey will be on the field for most snaps again in Week 5. He is an electric back who can score fantasy points in all facets of the game. His top-shelf salary and matchup invite lower ownership, along with…
