Circa Survivor Report: Week 17

Circa Survivor Report: Week 17 CIRCA SURVIVOR WEEK 17: DOUBLE WEEK KO’s 60% OF FIELD Week 17 of Circa’s $14 million Survivor contest, which was broken down to 17A & 17B, proved too difficult to navigate, ending the hopes of 60% of the remaining field. The Christmas Day double-header and the Thursday night game, which were their own week (17A), eliminated 11 entries after the Bears, Steelers, and Texans all suffered losses. Heading into the weekend, 34 contestants remained alive for Week 17B. The slate, which started on Saturday, saw favorites go 13-1 Straight-up (SU). However, that “one” had a major impact on the contest. 16 entrants were confident that Indianapolis would beat a struggling two-win Giants squad with their AFC playoff hopes on the line. The ONLY underdog of 6 pts or more to win outright in December was the Drew Lock-led New York Giants against the Colts 🔥 pic.twitter.com/AYhH8kcy4r — br_betting (@br_betting) December 30, 2024 However, their hopes of surviving to the final week of this season were dashed when Drew Lock upset the Colts, 45-33. For the first time since Week 12, the most chosen selection came up short. That knocked out 47.1% of the remaining pool. The Colts go down against the Giants eliminating 16 entries and setting the overall entries at 18. This is the first time since Week 12 in this Circa Survivor contest that the number 1 selected team has taken a loss. If you made it this far and got eliminated on the Colts,… pic.twitter.com/il0D9Rz4dG — Survivor Sweat (@SurvivorSweat) December 29, 2024 In Week 17, favorites also posted a very lucrative 11-3 Against The Spread (ATS) mark (with two pick’em games). After seeing 27 entrants eliminated over the split week, only 18 of the starting 14,266 entries remain alive! The Circa Survivor contest is a grueling contest that forces entrants to pick one winner every week, with no spread with one pivotal caveat. Entrants CAN NOT use the same team more than once during the season. With the 2024 NFL season down to the last week of gridiron action, pursuing the biggest $14,266,000 prize only requires one more winning selection. Contestants (who still have them available) will heavily lean on Baltimore (-18) vs. Cleveland, Tampa Bay (-13) vs. New Orleans, Denver (-10) vs. Kansas City, and Green Bay (-9) vs. Green Bay. From a full betting perspective, favorites hold a sizable 180-71 SU (71.7%) (5 Pick’ems) and 133-112-6 ATS (54.3%) edge. Home teams hold a slim 132-119 SU (52.6%) advantage (five international games) while road teams hold the coveted 127-118-6 ATS (51.8%) edge. Our best guess is a committee led by Mike Boone, but hard to trust anything in this backfield. Raheem Blackshear, Velus Jones, and Emani Bailey will also get touches. CeeDee Lamb (WR) Dallas Cowboys – Placed on IR. David Njoku (TE) Cleveland Browns Jalen Hurts (QB) Philadelphia Eagles – Did not clear concussion protocol. Kenny Pickett will start. Nick Folk (PK) Tennessee Titans Cedric Tillman (WR) Cleveland Browns Dyami Brown (WR) Washington Commanders Questionable Issac Guerendo (RB) San Francisco 49ers – The Niners play on Monday, so Saturday’s practice will be telling. Chirs Olave (WR) New Orleans Saints – Apparently the Saints are considering activating Olave. However, the move doesn’t make much sense in a lost season. Anthony Richardson (QB) Indianapolis Colts – Has not practiced all week. However, there is optimism that he will start. Tyreek Hill (WR) Miami Dolphins Jaylen Waddle (WR) Miami Dolphins Jalen Tolbert (WR) Dallas Cowboys Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers Tony Pollard (RB) Tennessee Titans Tyler Boyd (WR) Tennessee Titans EXPECTED TO PLAY A.J. Brown (WR) Philadelphia Eagles Tee Higgins (WR) Cleveland Browns Malik Nabers (WR) New York Giants Drake London (WR) Atlanta Falcons J.K. Dobbins (RB) Los Angeles Chargers James Conner (RB) Arizona Cardinals – Will play but is not 100% healthy. Davante Adams (WR) New York Jets – Chasing 1,000 yards. Alec Pierce (WR) Indianapolis Colts Bryce Young (QB) Carolina Panthers ENTER OUR WEEK 17 DRAFT CONTEST! How it Works: Firstly, draft your team using our On-Demand Simulator. Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 17

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 17 Welcome to Championship Week, where Week 17 could crown you king or leave you in the dust. Let’s dive into the lineup decisions that could define your season! Our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 17 will help you make informed decisions to win that title. Subsequently, our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 16 will help you navigate that turbulence to pick a winning lineup this week. Additionally, FullTime Fantasy has some of the top tools of the trade and accurate rankings. Quarterbacks Start ‘Em Jared Goff, Detroit Lions vs San Francisco 49ers Goff proved he’s a weather warrior with 336 yards and three scores in chilly Chicago last week. Heading into another outdoor game, but this time with kinder conditions, Goff has posted an average of 29.5 fantasy points in his last three games. His arm has been on fire with 11 total touchdown passes in that span. Despite the 49ers presenting a challenge on paper, Goff’s consistency makes him a no-brainer start in championship week. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Bucs vs Carolina Panthers After a disappointing outing against these same Panthers in Week 13, Mayfield has turned it around, amassing at least 25 fantasy points in his last three games. Hosting the Carolina Panthers at home this week, where they’ve been generous to opposing QBs, expect Mayfield to keep the heat on and deliver another strong performance. Check out where Baker Mayfield ranks in our Week 17 QB Rankings Sit ‘Em Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals vs LA Rams Murray managed a decent fantasy output against the Panthers, but his reliance on rushing for points has been inconsistent. The Rams have transformed into a defensive fortress since their last meeting with the Cardinals, making this a matchup to avoid for Murray. Running Backs Start ‘Em Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Irving is eating up defenses with his versatility, both running and catching. He’s scored at least 13 fantasy points in five of his last six games, and with the Panthers giving up the most rushing yards and touchdowns to running backs, he’s a must-start with championship-winning potential. Tyrone Tracy, NY Giants vs Indianapolis Colts Assuming Tracy shakes off his ankle injury, he’s a solid RB2 start. He’s been a dual-threat contributor with Drew Lock at QB, and the Colts have been leaky against the run, setting Tracy up for another productive game. Devin Singletary would also be a fine replacement if Tracy is held out. Sit ‘Em Brian Robinson, Washington Commanders vs Atlanta Falcons Robinson was sidelined by game script last week, and the Falcons defense has been surprisingly stingy against running backs, making him a risky play this week. Additionally, recent turnover struggles make Robinson a riskier proposition than we’d like to see on Championship Week. Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles Dowdle’s performance has waned, and facing an Eagles defense that’s been one of the stingiest against the run, coupled with competition from Ezekiel Elliott at the goalline, suggests leaving him on the bench. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings With Christian Watson out, Jayden Reed could see an uptick in targets against a Vikings secondary that’s been generous to wide receivers. He’s a start this week with potential upside. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos vs Cincinnati Bengals Sutton’s last couple of games were lackluster, but he’s due for a rebound. The Bengals have been vulnerable to receivers, setting up Sutton for a potentially big week. Sit ‘Em Amari Cooper, Buffalo Bills vs NY Jets Cooper’s involvement has drastically dropped in recent games, and the New York Jets defense has been a fortress against receivers, making him a high-risk start for your championship lineup. Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns vs Miami Dolphins With Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center, Jeudy’s production has tanked. The Dolphins’ defense against receivers is formidable, making Jeudy a sit in most scenarios. Tight Ends Start ‘Em Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Chargers Despite last week’s TD coming in garbage time, Henry has been a reliable option for fantasy managers, particularly in the red zone. His consistent floor makes him a start. Payne Durham, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Cade Otton has been ruled out. Durham will nab the start in his place and gets a superlative matchup. Facing the Panthers, who’ve been the second-most generous to tight ends, he’s a strong start in championship lineups. Also, he can be readily added off of waiver wires everywhere. Sit ‘Em Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons vs Washington Commanders Pitts has been a fantasy letdown, with his recent performances not justifying a start. Even against a middle-of-the-pack defense like Washington, the risk outweighs the potential reward. Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions vs San Francisco 49ers Despite recent success, the 49ers have been tough on tight ends, particularly at home. With the championship on the line, it might be wise to look elsewhere, even if it means making a tough call on LaPorta. ENTER OUR WEEK 17 DRAFT CONTEST! Injury Report: Week 17 Happy Holidays and congratulations on advancing to the final week. Jalen Hurts (QB) Philadelphia Eagles – Hurts was forced to exit last week’s loss early with a concussion. The average NFL player misses 1-2 weeks with a head injury, so Hurts is 50/50 at best to suit up in the finals. James Conner (RB) Arizona Cardinals – Moderately good news on James Conner’s knee. It sounds like there is at least a modest chance he will play in Week 17. However, Arizona plays on Saturday, which shortens Conner’s recovery time. Trey Benson and Michael Carter are priority waiver targets. “We’ll see how it goes throughout the week. I know he wants to play.” Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon with the latest on RB James Conner. The good news, Conner’s knee injury doesn’t sound serious. @PHNX_Cardinals pic.twitter.com/hksEGIBRjj — Bo Brack (@BoBrack) December 23, 2024 Alvin Kamara (RB) New Orleans Saints – Kamara missed Monday’s loss with a groin injury. The Saints have nothing to play for, so chances are that Kamara will not suit up again. However, he is only 50 rushing yards away from surpassing 1,000 yards for the first time, so that may be an objective important to him and the team to achieve this week or next. We are assuming Kamara will not play this week and have downgraded his Week 17 projections. CeeDee Lamb (WR) Dallas Cowboys – It appears Lamb aggravated that troublesome AC joint on a long catch versus the Bucs. His snaps were limited after the play. It’s a pain-tolerance issue, so Lamb could play through it this week. However, with the Cowboys’ season over, there is also a chance that the team rests their star wideout. We’ll have updates later in the week. Drake London (WR) Atlanta Falcons – Dealing with a hamstring injury that isn’t considered serious. However, all hamstring injuries are culpable of reoccurrence without proper rest. For now, London is more likely to play this week but his practice participation will need to be watched closely. George Pickens (WR) Pittsburgh Steelers – The bad news is that the hamstring injury that occurred in practice has now cost Pickens three games. However, the good news is that Pickens is expected to return this week in a crucial game against the Chiefs. Kenneth Walker III (RB) Seattle Seahawks – Walker (ankle) was unable to practice on Monday. Seattle faces Chicago on Thursday, which gives Walker very little time to heal. We expect him to miss this game, putting Zach Charbonnet in a position to compete for RB1/2 numbers. J.K. Dobbins (RB) Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers opened Dobbins’s 21-day window. If Dobbins is activated from IR, he’ll be an RB2 in New England. Cade Otton (TE) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Missed Week 16 with a knee injury. Tyrone Tracy (RB) New York Giants – Tracy re-aggravated an ankle injury and did not practice Tuesday. Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers – Green Bay’s oft-injured wideout exited Monday Night Football with a quad/hamstring injury. The Packers had the game well in hand at the time, so it’s possible that Watson’s absence was merely precautionary. His Week 17 practice status will be telling. Aaron Rodgers (QB) New York Jets – Dealing with an injured knee and potential high-ankle sprain. Tank Dell (WR) Houston Texans – A friendly-fire hit resulted in Dell suffering a dislocated knee and tearing multiple ligaments. Unfortunately, this is a devastating injury that not only ends Dell’s 2024 season but could result in him missing all of next year too. Issac Guerendo (RB) San Francisco 49ers – Missed last week due to a hamstring injury. San Francisco has nothing to play for, but reports indicate the rookie is trending in the right direction. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR) New Orleans Saints – MVS sat out Monday’s loss with a chest injury and illness. Even if he’s recovered in time for Week 17 action, having Spencer Rattler under center effectively neutralizes all New Orleans pass-catchers. Concussion Protocol Justice Hill (RB) Baltimore Ravens – Ruled OUT. Alec Pierce (WR) Indianapolis Colts – ENTER OUR WEEK 17 DRAFT CONTEST!
