NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/19

Today’s slate locks at 4:00 PM EST CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Patrice Bergeron (BOS) Elias Pettersson (VAN) Brad Marchand (BOS) Brendan Gallagher (MTL) Shea Weber (MTL) Dougie Hamilton (CAR) MID $ Bo Horvat (VAN) Nazem Kadri (COL) Taylor Hall (ARI) Brock Boeser (VAN) David Perron (STL) Quinn Hughes (VAN) Torey Krug (BOS) VALUE $ David Krejci (BOS) Nick Suzuki (MTL) Derek Stepan (ARI) Clayton Keller (ARI) Jake Debrusk (BOS) Jonathan Drouin (MTL) Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) Shayne Gostisbehere (PHI) Justin Faulk (STL)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. Vancouver Canucks Miller – Pettersson – Boeser Montreal Canadiens Tatar – Suzuki – Gallagher   Value Line Stack Boston Bruins Debrusk – Krejci – Kase Arizona Coyotes Hall – Stepan – Keller   Top Goalies Darcy Kuemper (ARI) – Kuemper and the Yotes had their brains beaten in last time out but that too me was just a blip for this strong defensive team. Kuemper has been seeing a ton of shots, his salary is still low, and the upside that comes with him is immense. Jacob Markstrom (VAN) – Markstrom has been strong and has been dealt two tough-luck losses in a row. Markstrom has stopped at least 34 shots in each of his last three games and at $7600 he’s in a great position to pay off. Carey Price (MTL) – It’s do or die for Montreal as the Habs have gone scoreless in each of their last two games. Price hasn’t seen a lot of work in each of his last two outings but that could change tonight assuming the Montreal plays with a little bit more urgency in the neutral zone and offensive zone making the pace here a little more up and down. GOOD LUCK!!

NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/16

Today’s slate locks at 6:30 PM EST CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Bo Horvat (VAN) William Karlsson (VGK) Max Pacioretty (VGK) Patrick Kane (CHI) Shea Theodore (VGK) Shea Weber (MTL) MID $ Jonathan Toews (CHI) Brendan Gallagher (MTL) Jonathan Marchessault (VGK) Brock Boeser (VAN) Quinn Hughes (VAN) Jeff Petry (MTL) Nate Schmidt (VGK) VALUE $ Nick Suzuki (MTL) Kirby Dach (CHI) Dylan Strome (CHI) Alex Debrincat (CHI) Jonathan Drouin (MTL) Duncan Keith (CHI) Justin Faulk (STL) Chris Tanev (VAN)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. Montreal Canadiens Tatar – Suzuki – Gallagher Vegas Golden Knights Marchessault – Karlsson – Smith Vancouver Canucks Miller – Pettersson – Boeser   Value Line Stack Montreal Canadiens Drouin – Kotkaniemi – Armia Vancouver Canucks Pearson – Horvat – Eriksson   Top Goalies Carey Price (MTL) – As the playoffs roll on and this series continues, Price comes in off a 30-save shutout last time out and he looked like he could’ve stopped 50 if given the chance. Pure dominance from Price and with a friendly salary still, I look for his strong play to continue. Jacob Markstrom (VAN) – Speaking of confidence, Markstrom has been solid between the pipes winning two in a row against the defending cup champions. On the other side, St. Louis has all kinds of questions going on in their net and doesn’t look like the same team we saw come on last season. GOOD LUCK!!

NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/15

Today’s slate locks at 3:00 PM EST CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Nathan MacKinnon (COL) William Karlsson (VGK) Mark Stone (VGK) Patrick Kane (CHI) Jonathan Marchessault (VGK) Shea Theodore (VGK) MID $ Pierre-Luc Dubois (CBJ) Paul Stastny (VGK) Oliver Bjorkstrand (CBJ) Phil Kessel (ARI) Seth Jones (CBJ) VALUE $ Boone Jenner (CBJ) Kirby Dach (CHI) Clayton Keller (ARI) Alex Tuch (VGK) Nick Foligno (CBJ) Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) Connor Murphy (CHI) Brayden McNabb (VGK)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. Vegas Golden Knights Pacioretty (check on status, if OUT, Chandler Stephenson should replace) – Karlsson – Stone Arizona Coyotes Hall – Stepan – Keller   Value Line Stack Columbus Blue Jackets Texier – Dubois – Bjorkstrand   Top Goalies Joonas Korpisalo (CBJ) – Everyone is going to go Tampa and Vegas on this slate. On such a short slate, being different is going to be paramount and in this case, Korpi and the Jackets are playing with a ton of confidence right now after a big win in game two and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Columbus comes in ready to roll. Robin Lehner (VGK) – We’re not getting Lehner at any kind of discount here as DK has priced him up to $8400. With that said, I don’t think Chicago has what it takes on the ice or behind the bench to come back in this series against an, in my opinion, far superior Golden Knights unit.   GOOD LUCK!!

NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/12

CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Nathan MacKinnon (COL) Elias Pettersson (VAN) Alex Ovechkin (WSH)   Alex Pietrangelo (STL) Shea Weber (MTL) Alex Edler (VAN) MID $ Bo Horvat (VAN) Nazem Kadri (COL) Brendan Gallagher (MTL) Taylor Hall (ARI) Vlad Tarasenko (STL) Quinn Hughes (VAN) Jeff Petry (MTL) VALUE $ Brayden Schenn (STL) Nick Suzuki (MTL) Jean-Gabriel Pageau (NYI) Jakub Vrana (WSH) Jonathan Drouin (MTL) Clayton Keller (ARI) Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) Justin Faulk (STL) Ian Cole (COL)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. New York Islanders Lee – Barzal – Eberle St. Louis Blues Schwartz – Schenn – Tarasenko Montreal Canadiens Tatar – Suzuki – Gallagher   Value Line Stacks Arizona Coyotes Garland – Stepan – Keller Washington Capitals Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie   Top Goalies Carey Price (MTL) – As Price goes, the Canadiens go and he was dominant in the qualifying series against Pittsburgh. We’ve seen it time and time again in the playoffs if you can get a hot goaltender you have a very good chance to go far and that’s what the Habs have right now. Jordan Binnington (STL) – Much like most of the other teams during the round-robin, St. Louis basically sleepwalked through three games and Binnington was not good. Plain and simple. I expect him and the Blues to be much better as they’ve clearly been battle-tested while the younger Canucks might not be quite ready. Semyon Varlamov (NYI) – I like the Isles chances to hang with Washington and potentially upset them in this series. A lot of that will depend on the opening contest here tonight and Varlamov at $7200 brings some solid value. GOOD LUCK!!

NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/11

CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Patrice Bergeron (BOS) Brayden Point (TB) David Pastrnak (BOS) * didn’t practice, expected to play Nikita Kucherov (TB) Shea Theodore (VGK) Seth Jones (CBJ) MID $ William Karlsson (VGK) Pierre-Luc Dubois (CBJ) Brad Marchand (BOS) Jonathan Marchessault (VGK) Cam Atkinson (CBJ) Torey Krug (BOS) Nate Schmidt (VGK) VALUE $ Boone Jenner (CBJ) Joe Pavelski (DAL) Kirby Dach (CHI) Reilly Smith (VGK) Nick Foligno (CBJ) Justin Williams (CAR) Duncan Keith (CHI) Erik Gustafsson (CGY) Calvin De Haan (CHI) Brandon Carlo (BOS)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. Boston Bruins Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak Tampa Bay Lightning Palat – Point – Kucherov Vegas Golden Knights Marchessault – Stastny – Smith   Value Line Stacks Columbus Blue Jackets Nyquist – Jenner – Foligno Boston Bruins Debrusk – Krejci – Kase Tampa Bay Lightning Killorn – Cirelli – Johnson   Top Goalies Marc-Andre Fleury / Robin Lehner (VGK) – I like whichever Vegas netminder we get in this game against the Blackhawks. Chicago played extremely well in their qualifying series against the fraudulent Edmonton Oilers and have the playoffs pedigree with Toews, Kane, Keith, and Crawford leading them. With all of that being said, in a game that should see some up and down action, I expect either MAF or Lehner to see a lot of work in net and be equal to the task; MAF with plenty of playoff experience and Lehner, a goalie who thrives with the more pucks he sees. Tuukka Rask (BOS) – Rask should bounce back after losing two games in the round-robin series when he faced Tampa and Washington respectively. Carolina is a solid team but they do lack consistent scoring and quality scoring chances at times but do get pucks to the net. I’ll back Rask here and expect Boston to get their act together after an overall piss-poor showing during the round-robin series losing all three games. GOOD LUCK!!

NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/4

CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Mika Zibanajad (NYR) Elias Pettersson (VAN)   Artemi Panarin (NYR) Kyle Connor (WPG)   Zach Werenski (CBJ) Alex Edler (VAN) Mark Giordano (CGY) MID $ Bo Horvat (VAN) Pierre-Luc Dubois (CBJ) Kevin Fiala (MIN) Taylor Hall (ARI) Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) Filip Forsberg (NSH) Quinn Hughes (VAN) Jake Muzzin (TOR) Ryan Suter (MIN) VALUE $ Vinnie Trocheck (CAR) Christian Dvorak (ARI) Alex Wennberg (CBJ) Cam Atkinson (CBJ) Clayton Keller (ARI) Justin Williams (CAR) Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) Josh Morrissey (WPG) Erik Gustafsson (CGY)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. New York Rangers Kreider – Zibanajad – Buchnevich Arizona Coyotes Hall – Dvorak – Kessel Vancouver Canucks Miller – Pettersson – Toffoli   Value Line Stacks Columbus Blue Jackets Foligno – Wennberg – Atkinson Winnipeg Jets Perreault – Eakin – Ehlers   Top Goalies Joonas Korpisalo (CBJ) – While Korpi looked great in net in game one, this continues to be more about Toronto’s issues. Whether it be a lack of motivation or god knows what else this team seems to disappoint more often than not. Can they explode for five goals? Absolutely, but I’ll side with the better defensive team and quite frankly the team with the better head coach. Darcy Kuemper (ARI) – Kuemper was stellar in game one as Arizona more or less pushed the Preds around early on. Kuemper has proven to be more than capable of this group and has had Nashville’s number in eating of his last three outings against the Preds. Igor Shesterkin / Henrik Lundqvist (NYR) – Whoever is in net for the Rangers tonight needs to be in desperation mode in a must-win situation and we can be assured that Carolina will continue to pump shots to the net as they’ve directed 37 and 34 pucks on net in the first two games.   GOOD LUCK!!

NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/3

The first two days of the playoffs have been exciting and full of action. The idea of having hockey all day long is nothing short of fantastic and it all continues today.   CENTERS WINGS DEFENSE TOP $ Connor McDavid (EDM) Brayden Point (TB) Nikita Kucherov (TB) Alex Ovechkin (WSH) John Carlson (WSH) (questionable) Oscar Klefbom (EDM) MID $ Sean Monahan (CGY) William Karlsson (VGK) Brendan Gallagher (MTL) Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) Jonathan Marchessault (VGK) Shea Weber (MTL) Mark Giordano (CGY) Neal Pionk (WPG) VALUE $ Nick Suzuki (MTL) Kirby Dach (CHI) Tomas Tatar (MTL) Alex Debrincat (CHI) Jakub Vrana (WSH) Erik Gustafsson (CHI) Justin Schultz (PIT) Jeff Petry (MTL)   Favorite Line Stacks *Note: Lines are subject to change depending on morning skate lines. Revert to the chat and/or look for updates here for any impact they may have. Vegas Golden Knights Marchessault – Stastny – Smith Calgary Flames Gaudreau – Monahan – Lindholm Tampa Bay Lightning Palat – Point – Kucherov   Value Line Stacks Chicago Blackhawks Debrincat – Dach – Sikura Montreal Canadiens Tatar – Danault – Gallagher   Top Goalies Carey Price (MTL) – I’m going back to the well with Price after he delivered a stellar effort in game one of this series stopping 39 of 41 shots he faced. Price’s salary did go up a tad but he’s considered a high upside play. Robin Lehner (VGK) – The only concern I have with Lehner is that he doesn’t see a ton of shots. Outside of that, I expect Vegas to win this game and for Lehner to control the Golden Knights’ end. Mike Smith (EDM) – Smitty is very boom or bust and has been for years. This is the ultimate shoot for the upside play as he should see a lot of volume. How he handles those pucks to the net is the mystery. more thoughts on the netminders… I would expect Matt Murray (PIT) and Cam Talbot (CGY) to be the popular options in net tonight, neither of which I have any interest in playing. I generally lean towards a goalie that brings upside and can expect to see a lot of pucks on net. I don’t see that scenario from either Murray or Talbot and their price tags help solidify my decision.   GOOD LUCK!!
