Fuego Steve’s NBA GPP Plays 12/1/17

NBA GPP Cheat Sheet My NBA articles will mostly focus on Fanduel lineup construction since besides center, you need to play two at each position. The players recommended are usually still good plays on DraftKings unless the pricing is drastically different. Also, many players on DraftKings have dual position eligibility or may be listed at a different position. I will try to mention if there is a specific good play on DK based on price or position eligibility. The players listed are in no particular order, as sometimes I am giving choices to help build your lineups at all price points. Point Guard Russell Westbrook – Been on fire over his last five games. Four of the five he has 60+ Fanduel points. Looks like he is finally just playing his game and letting the others get used to him. It had seemed the other way around for the most part. Kyle Lowry – Lowry also has been hot recently. Three of his last four he has 48-54 FD points. The Pacers have allowed some of the most fantasy points to point guards over the last five games. Look for Lowry to remain hot going up against Darren Collison (who I also like). Goran Dragic – He burned us the other night, picking up two quick fouls and hardly playing in the first half. But he’s in another good spot tonight as Kemba Walker is out for the Hornets. If the Heat actually let Dragic run things and set up the offense, I like him again tonight. He should also have to take on some more usage with no Whiteside. Value/Punt Plays– Rajon Rando, Tyler Johnson, Ricky Rubio Shooting Guard Justin Holiday – The Kings have allowed the most Fanduel points to shooting guards over the last five, and are in the bottom five over the last ten games. This could be one of those games Holiday gets close to his ceiling game. Klay Thompson – The gang should all be back together gain tonight for the Warriors. I like Thompson sometimes more when Curry and Durant play because it allows him to get open more and in space. Good floor, good ceiling. Bradley Beal – As long as John Wall remains out, Beal will be a good play. He probably has the highest usage of any shooting guard on the slate. We do need his peripheral stats to go up to start getting his ceiling games and not just scoring points. Value/Punt Plays – Normal Powell, Garrett Temple, Danny Green Small Forward Paul George – He’s been playing well lately, finally starting to mesh well with Westbrook. He has a nice floor, but I like the ceiling he has at only $8500 on Fanduel. Kyle Anderson – Safe play at his price, 27-37 Fanduel points in his last six games. Kelly Oubre – As expected, since John Wall has been out he has got a usage bump. His price is starting to creep up as he is now $5000 on Fanduel. However, he can still get to 5-6X at that price or even more. Value/Punt Plays – Stanley Johnson, Bogan Bogdanovic, Rudy Gay Power Forward Taj Gibson – His ceiling isn’t too high on most nights, but he has been consistent. He’s hitting 5 to 6 X almost every night. LaMarcus Aldridge – After a few subpar games, probably from over use, Aldridge has bounced back the past two scoring 64 and 51 Fanduel points. Memphis isn’t great at guarding the power forward spot, so I like Aldridge tonight. Aaron Gordon – Finally hit his ceiling game last time out and of course I didn’t roster him. I don’t expect 70 again tonight, but he has picked up his game over the last five scoring 40+ Fanduel points in three of those games. Value/Punt Plays – Bobby Portis, Serge Ibaka, Markieff Morris Center Dwight Howard – Kemba Walker is out for the Hornets, so I think Howard will get an uptick in usage. In addition, Hassan Whiteside is out for Miami, so Howard should dominate down low. Marcin Gortat – Andre Drummond and the Pistons have allowed quite a bit of points to the center position as of late. Over the last five games they have given up 41 Fanduel points a game. Gortat is pretty much the only show in town for the Wizards. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been producing without John Wall in the lineup. I think he turns it around tonight. Nikola Vucuvic – Vucuvic has a good floor over the last ten games and tonight could get to his ceiling. We all know how Lou and I like to target centers versus Golden State, although their DVP versus the position is much better this season. Value/Punt Plays – Gortat, Jonas Valenciunas, Pau Gasol Will update later if anything changes. Also listen to NBA Live at 5 for more detailed information on who I and JaguarLou like most tonight.

Scouting the NBA 12/1/17

Plays of the Day Value: Tyus Jones has been the man for Minnesota and will be worth a look as long as Jeff Teague (Achilles) remains out. The Duke product is averaging 11.25 PPG, 6.5 APG and 4 SPG over his last four appearances and is playing huge minutes with Teague out. Fade: Kevin Durant has a solid floor in a plus matchup at Orlando, but he hasn’t flashed a high ceiling in matchups that the Warriors don’t seem to “circle on their calendars” and it’s hard to imagine him blowing up in this matchup. Point Guards Steph Curry – (9,900 DK/9,700 FD) Steph came alive late to torch the Lakers in overtime and he should carry that momentum into a fantastic matchup tonight. Orlando’s been horrendous defensively of late and gave up the second-most FPPG (58.05) to opposing PGs last week, along with the fourth-most FPPG (48.95) to that position on the season. Curry averaged 26 PPG on 53.3 percent FG shooting over two meetings with the Magic last year and only played 28.8 MPG in those easy wins, but the Dubs are rarely blowing teams out right now and could surprise by getting into yet another close one down the stretch. Kyle Lowry – (8,100 DK/8,500 FD) At a much cheaper price tag on DK tonight, Lowry carries nearly as much upside as Curry and Russ Westbrook. With averages of 25 PPG, 9.5 RPG and 6.3 APG over his last four appearances, Lowry is carrying the Raptors offense and he’s shooting an unsustainable, but impressive 56.8 percent (21-of-37) from downtown during that span. Indiana gives up the ninth-most PPG (107.8) and eighth-most APG (23.2) while playing at a surprisingly fast pace this year, so Lowry has a good chance to stay hot against under sized PG Darren Collison. Potential Value Michael Carter-Williams – (4,400 DK/5,400 FD) MCW would immediately become a viable value play should Kemba Walker (shoulder) miss another contest. Longshot Elfrid Payton – (6,100 DK/7,200 FD) Payton finally seems to be over his hamstring injury and he could thrive in a fast-paced matchup against the Warriors. Shooting Guards Kelly Oubre Jr. – (4,800 DK/5,000 FD) With John Wall (knee) out and defenses keying in on Bradley Beal, several Wizards have stepped up, but none have seen as great of an increase in production as Kelly Oubre Jr. The third-year man out of Kansas dropped a career-high 22 points over just 29 minutes in a loss at Philly on Wednesday and should continue to see steady run against a Pistons team that gives up the seventh-most FPPG (43.03) to opposing SFs this season and Oubre sees a 5.2 percent rise in usage rate (to 24.8%) when Wall is off the floor. Tyus Jones – (4,700 DK/5,700 FD) His status depends completely on that of Jeff Teague (Achilles), but with Teague inactive over the last four contests, Tyus Jones has been the man for Minnesota. The Duke product is averaging 11.25 PPG, 6.5 APG and 4 SPG during that span and his price tag remains low despite the fact that he’s playing huge minutes in the absence of Teague. In spite of a tough matchup against Russell Westbrook and the Thunder, Jones will essentially remain a must play should Teague sit out another game. Potential Value Malik Monk – (4,200 DK/3,900 FD) Monk has been a boom-bust option but he could become much safer if Jeremy Lamb (knee) and/or Kemba Walker sits out tonight’s tilt in Miami. Longshot Donovan Mitchell – (6,900 DK/6,800 FD) Mitchell would likely be the primary reason the Jazz stay competitive at home against the Pelicans tonight, so he makes for a great correlation play with Anthony Davis or DeMarcus Cousins. Small Forwards Paul George – (8,200 DK/8,500 FD) If Westbrook is at all bothered by his hand injury tonight, he could be more willing to defer to the Thunder’s secondary scorer in Paul George. He broke out of a slump with 22 points on 7-of-17 FG shooting on Wednesday and draws a plus matchup tonight against a Wolves team that ranks 26th in defensive rating and dead last in opponents FG shooting (.483%) this season. George has produced 37 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds over two appearances with the Wolves this year and he’s supplementing his scoring with nice peripheral stats, as he leads the league at 2.8 SPG. Lance Stephenson – (4,500 DK/5,200 FD) Here’s another cheap option at forward to help you pay up for studs at the other positions tonight. Lance Stephenson continues to exceed value and prove that his recent production was no fluke, as he’s working alongside Pacers main scorer Victor Oladipo and averaging 13.2 PPG on 61 percent FG shooting (25-of-41) over his last five appearances. He can go cold at any time, but remains a viable GPP play in this price range with tangible upside. Potential Value Bojan Bogdanovic – (4,600 DK/4,500 FD) Bogdanovic has been lights out from downtown lately and could see more usage if Myles Turner (knee) can’t go tonight. Longshot Otto Porter – (6,500 DK/7,000 FD) Porter slowed down in a road tilt at Philly on Wednesday but is still a strong play in any format with Wall out. Power Forwards Draymond Green – (7,400 DK/8,100 FD) Some may be tempted to roll with Aaron Gordon ($7,600/$7,900) after he blew up for 40 points and 15 boards in a home win over the Thunder on Wednesday, but Draymond could take that recent output as a challenge and really step his game up. The former Defensive Player of the Year held Gordon to 10 points on 4-of-13 FG shooting in their last meeting and is coming off a near triple double with 15 points, 11 boards and 9 assists in an overtime win over the Lakers. Orlando ranks 25th in total rebounding, gives up the third-most PPG (110.9) and plays at the sixth-fastest pace in the

Jaguar Lou’s Cash Game Cheat Sheet – 11/30/17 If you’re not max entering GPP tournaments, I strongly recommend only playing single entry and 3-5-person leagues. Jaguar Lou’s GPP Play’s – 11/30/17

PG Kris Dunn – 6,500 FD & 6,000 DK Kris Dunn had his first break out game of the season last night scoring 47.8 fantasy points. Dunn draws another favorable matchup tonight against Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets. Dunn is a risky play because his numbers are extremely inconsistent, but with inconsistency comes low salary and low ownership. The Chicago Bulls are underdog’s + 11 with a 209 over-under. Other GPP PG Option(s): Ben Simmons & Dennis Schroder SG Gary Harris – 6,100 FD & 5,600 DK Gary Harris has been up and down over his past 5 games alternating between 20 and 30-point efforts. Harris matches up tonight against a Chicago Bulls team that are allowing 64.4 FD points to opposing shooting guard’s over their past five games which is second worst in the league. With Wilson Chandler and Paul Millsap both sidelined expect other players to have to step up, usage upticks are expected for all Denver Nuggets. Gary Harris could be in for a nice game in a favorable matchup at reasonable pricing. The Denver Nuggets are favored by 11 points with a 209 over-under. Other GPP SG Option(s): Donovan Mitchell & Will Barton (Hedge off Harris) SF Juan Hernangomez – 4,000 FD & 3,700 DK This is another cheap value play that will allow you to roster one, two or maybe even three of the big 3 tonight; Lebron James, Giannis Antetokouonmpo & Ben Simmons. Hernangomez started last night for the injured Wilson Chandler posting 22 FD points in 28 minutes. Assuming he starts again tonight, Hernangomez could realistically reach a low 30’s ceiling which is solid value and such low pricing around the industry. The Denver Nuggets are favored by 11 points with a 209 over-under. Other GPP SF Option(s): Robert Covington (Embiid out) PF Montrezl Harrell – 4,400 FD & 3,500 DK Although Harrell is priced up on Fan Duel, the former Houston Rocket is a viable GPP play on both Draft Kings and Fan Duel. We all know Montrezl Harrell has the skills to put up massive numbers, it’s just he’s rarely had the opportunity to showcase his upside as he’s typically overshadowed by other slightly more talented players like Clint Capella and Blake Griffin. BUT with Blake Griffin side lined for tonight’s game, Montrezl Harrell will have the opportunity to play significant minutes. Harrell is more of a value play as he doesn’t carry much of an upside but cheaper plays like this will allow you to afford Lebron James, Giannis Antetokouonmpo & Ben Simmons, which are super stars in great matchups the ideal situations. The Los Angeles Clippers are underdogs at +2.5 with a 200 over-under. Other GPP PF Option(s): John Collins, Amir Johnson & Kenneth Faried C Kevin Love – 7,800 FD & 8,000 DK Kevin Love draws a nice matchup against John Collins with Atlanta usual starting Center, Dwayne Dedmon, out for tonight’s game. Kevin Love started his last game red hot scoring 40+ fantasy points in the first half! Because the game was a blow out his overall point production ended up being more reasonable but still impressive at 54.8 FD points. Love faces a true Power Forward in John Collins that Kevin Love has 20 pounds on! At reasonable salaries around the industry, I fully expect Kevin Love to reach value at the very least tonight against the banged-up Atlanta Hawks. The Cleveland Cavilers are favored by 7.5 points with a 215.5 over-under. Other GPP Center Option(s): Al Horford
Scouting The NBA – 11/30/17

Plays of the Day Value: Montrezl Harrell is slated to step in for Blake Griffin and he draws a decent matchup tonight against the struggling Jazz. Sam Dekker is another candidate to soak up minutes with Blake, Danilo Gallinari and Patrick Beverley all ruled out for the Clippers. Fade: Kevin Love is coming off a big game but he’s been far too inconsistent to ride with in cash games tonight. The Cavs are playing their third game in four nights and will be on the road in Atlanta. Point Guards Kyrie Irving – (8,400 DK/8,200 FD) Kyrie continues to control the offense as the primary scorer on a Celtics team full of two-way role players and he could pile up points in a matchup against a team that gives up the sixth-most PPG (23.11) to opposing PGs while allowing the second-highest pace of play to that position this year. This is the second half of a B2B set for Philly and the Sixers will be without Joel Embiid. In their one game on 0 days rest this season, the 76ers lost 128-94, but this divisional tilt should stay closer while still providing good box score results. Dennis Schroder – (7,500 DK/7,400 FD) Schroder is a boom-bust option worth considering in GPP formats tonight against what should be a tired Cavs team. Cleveland’s playing its third game over the last four nights and has been notably thin at PG all season, coughing up the second-most APG (9.9) to the position and struggling overall with the second-worst defensive rating in the NBA. Schroder’s seen a rise in assist rate (37.4%) and usage rate (29.8%) with the Hawks moving on from Paul Millsap this year and he’ll do his best to keep Atlanta competitive at home tonight. Potential Value Jerryd Bayless – (3,400 DK/3,700 FD) Bayless should start tonight with T.J. McConnell (shoulder) looking unlikely to suit up. Longshot Austin Rivers – (5,500 DK/6,000 FD) Rivers is one of the few healthy bodies left available for the Clippers and that forces his father to give him extended run. Shooting Guards Donovan Mitchell – (6,900 DK/6,800 FD) Mitchell continued to stand out as the best offensive player on the Jazz by far. He’s rocking a 28 percent usage rate and his poor FG shooting (.383%) is somewhat irrelevant on the main DFS sites. The Clippers have pulled out of their tailspin with three straight wins, but are still giving up tons of FPs to opposing backcourts with Patrick Beverley (knee) done for the year and two offensive-minded guards replacing his minutes in Austin Rivers and Lou Williams. Plus, Rodney Hood (ankle) is questionable for Utah and that could lead to even more usage for Mitchell. Dwyane Wade – (5,600 DK/6,000 FD) Kevin Love carried the Cavs offense and LeBron James grabbed headlines by getting ejected in the third quarter of Cleveland’s latest win, but Dwyane Wade simply continued to produce. The veteran dropped 17 points on 8-of-16 FG shooting and should remain a consistent cash play as the leader of the Cavs second unit. Wade is posting a 34 percent usage rate and averaging 1.40 FPs per minute with Love and James off the floor, which is a frequent occurrence since he’s coming off the bench, and he draws a great matchup tonight against a Hawks team that gives up the second-most FPPG (44.75) and most RPG (7.0) to opposing SGs this year. Potential Value Kent Bazemore – (5,400 DK/5,100 FD) Bazemore is a solid bet to meet production in a matchup against a tired Cavs team. Longshot Lou Williams – (7,300 DK/8,000 FD) Lou-Will is carrying the shorthanded Clippers offensively and he’s always a boom-bust candidate to consider in tournaments. Small Forwards Giannis Antetokounmpo – (11,100 DK/11,800 FD) Giannis went off with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to meet value on his lofty price tag over just 28 minutes of run on Tuesday. Tonight the Bucks (+3) are underdogs against a Portland team with great defensive numbers, yet the Blazers couldn’t stop The Greek Freak when he went off for 44 points on 17-of-23 FG shooting last month. Portland is good defensively, but coughs up the second-most BPG (6.0) and commits 15.2 turnovers per game, which makes Giannis even more appealing on FanDuel where blocks and steals count for 3 FPs. Marcus Morris – (4,700 DK/4,600 FD) If you’re looking for a cheap cash play it’s hard not to love Marcus Morris after he produced 20-plus FPs in a seventh consecutive game on Monday. He’s playing limited minutes, but will be playing on two full days rest tonight and could see a little more run. The Sixers have a good defensive rating, yet they allow the eighth-most PPG (107.7) and as mentioned above, may be a little tired after facing Washington on Wednesday. Potential Value Sam Dekker – (3,500 DK/3,800 FD) Dekker is a dark horse candidate to see a huge spike in production with Blake Griffin out and Danilo Gallinari (hip) still sidelined. Longshot Robert Covington – (6,200 DK/6,200 FD) Covington should see a heavy rise in usage rate with Joel Embiid out tonight. Power Forwards Ben Simmons – (9,300 DK/9,900 FD) With Joel Embiid slated to rest tonight, Simmons will have to try and carry the Sixers offense in a tough matchup at the Celtics. He boasts a 30.4 percent usage rate and averages 1.30 FPs per minute with Embiid off the floor and is coming off a career-high 31-point game in which he set an NBA record with 24 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter. The Celtics do a great job of limiting opposing shooters, but struggle at times to protect the rim and could have trouble keeping an elite athlete in Simmons out of the paint. Montrezl Harrell – (3,500 DK/4,400 FD) We’ll have to see how the Clippers rotation shakes out with Blake Griffin (knee) set to

Jaguar Lou’s Cheat Sheet – 11/29/17 JaguarLou's Mado If you’re not max entering GPP tournaments, I strongly recommend only playing single entry's and 3-5-person leagues. Scouting The NBA – 11/29/17

Plays of the Day Value: Kelly Oubre Jr. stayed hot with 16 points over 31 minutes in a plus matchup against Minnesota last night and is definitely worth a look with John Wall (knee) still out ahead of a matchup in Philly. Fade: DeMarcus Cousins ate up Karl-Anthony Towns the last time those former Wildcats faced off, but KAT could get a modicum of revenge tonight and at least hold Boogie under value, which has been a consistent result for the mercurial big man lately. Point Guards Russell Westbrook – (11,200 DK/11,000 FD) James Harden draws a juicy matchup against a Pacers team that is playing at the ninth-fastest pace and giving up the fourth-most PPG (23.29) to opposing PGs, which is essentially Harden’s role despite the addition of Chris Paul. While he’s a better option at just $400 more on DK, Westbrook is the superior play given their difference in price on FanDuel. He’s rolling over his last four games and faces a Magic defense that’s been absolutely awful lately. Tyus Jones – (4,500 DK/5,30 FD) As long as Jeff Teague (Achilles) remains out, Jones will serve as a fantastic value play and a cornerstone of lineups on both main DFS sites. The former Duke standout added 12 points and 7 assists in last night’s loss to Washington, but notably played 40 minutes and is clearly Minnesota’s only true option at PG until Teague gets right. Potential Value Rajon Rondo – (4,900 DK/4,800 FD) Rondo should remain a solid source of FPs in the right matchups and he could be facing Minnesota’s backup PG tonight in Jones. Longshot Lonzo Ball – (6,800 DK/6,700 FD) The sheer pace of play between the Lakers and Warriors tonight gives Ball a chance to pile up peripheral stats and maybe post a triple double. Shooting Guards Tyreke Evans – (6,600 DK/7,500 FD) Mike Conley (Achilles) remains out and his backup Mario Chalmers (ankle) is questionable, which could lead to a start for Kentucky product Andrew Harrison. Yet it could also lead to Tyreke Evans serving as the primary facilitator for Memphis in a matchup against a Spurs team that’s been giving up above average production (41.65 FPPG) to opposing SFs with Kawhi Leonard inactive all year. Evans has been quiet over his last couple of games, but his playing time remains consistent and interim HC J.B. Bickerstaff should look to unleash the Reke in an effort to come out with a tough road win. Tim Hardaway Jr. – (6,500 DK/6,100 FD) Hardaway Jr. could get hot again tonight against a Heat team that is on the second half of a B2B set. Hardaway is scoring 0.52 points per minute with a 24.7 percent usage rate this year and should play well off of Kristaps Porzingis and Enes Kanter now that both big men are healthy.. Miami ranks 25th in opponents 3PT shooting (.378%) and Hardaway Jr. is getting it done both inside and out while averaging 18.6 PPG and 33.1 DK PPG at home this season. Potential Value Jeremy Lamb – (5,500 DK/6,300 FD) Lamb remains a solid mid-tier option despite the return of Nic Batum. Longshot Bradley Beal – (8,100 DK/8,300 FD) Beal will be a contrarian play tonight after busting in a plus matchup last night, but he could bounce back against the high-scoring Sixers with John Wall out. Small Forwards Paul George – (8,600 DK/8,600 FD) Orlando’s defense has been a disaster over the past few weeks and if you can’t afford Russell Westbrook, Paul George as an intriguing option as a way to gain some exposure to the Thunder offense tonight. The Magic allow the most FPPG (45.50) and third-most PPG (24.42) to opposing SGs this season and while PG technically plays SF, he handles just about all the spot-up shooting on the wing when playing next to defensive specialist Andre Roberson. He’s been productive with defensive stats despite going through a brief shooting slump of late and could serve as a great per-dollar GPP play if he finds his stroke in this juicy road matchup. Kelly Oubre Jr. – (4,200 DK/4,300 FD) He continued his hot streak with 16 points over 31 minutes in a plus matchup against Minnesota last night and Oubre is definitely worth a look in what could be a much higher-scoring game in Philly this Wednesday. When John Wall (knee) is off the floor Oubre Jr. sees a 5.1 percent rise in usage rate and he may even play some with Bradley Beal off the floor as well on the second half of a B2B set. Potential Value Stanley Johnson – (3,900 DK/4,000 FD) Johnson is a low-upside value to consider in a plus matchup against the Suns. Longshot Otto Porter – (6,700 DK/7,300 FD) Porter carried the Wizards last night with John Wall out and could continue to thrive if defenses pay too much attention to Bradley Beal. Power Forwards Kristaps Porzingis – (8,200 DK/8,900 FD) He met value on Monday in a tough matchup against the Blazers and Porzingis’ price tag continues to drop, so clearly he’s worth a look in a better matchup tonight. The Heat is tough on opposing centers, but Enes Kanter (back) should return to split time with Kyle O’Quinn and they’ll be the ones contending with Hassan Whiteside. Miami’s also on the second half of a B2B set and Whiteside’s been icing his knee recently so he might not be ready to play a full slate of minutes, while The Zinger thrives at MSG with averages of 28.5 PPG and 45.3 DK PPG over 13 home games this year. Harrison Barnes – (6,100 DK/6,500 FD) Out of necessity, Harrison Barnes has been the main man for the last-place Mavericks this year and that’s made him a very good cash play. He draws a beautiful matchup tonight against a Nets team that plays at the third-fastest pace and coughs up the second-most PPG (113.7) in
