Jaguar Lou’s Top Pick’s – 12/19/17

Jaguar Lou’s Top Picks for 12/19/2017   PG John Wall– 9,500 FD & 8,800 DK John Wall has the easiest matchup of the night against Rajon Rondo. I love rostering Wall and Beal in the same lineup tonight! Although Beal has a slightly better matchup, I have no problem rostering both, as Beal should be the primary scorer and Wall will hit value with assists, rebounds, blocks and steals. On a night with minimal options, John Wall is a safe play at a reasonable price for an elite point guard. Other GPP PG Option(s): Fox/Mason & Jameer Nelson (GPP)   SG Bradley Beal – 9,400 FD & 8,900 DK Bradley Beal faces a Pelicans defense that has allowed massive PPG to opposing shooting guards over their last 10 games. Beal should have no problem scoring and should also see a minutes/usage bump with Otto Porter expected to sit. Other GPP SG Option(s): Khris Middleton, J.J Redick & E’Twann Moore (GPP)   SF Lebron James – 10,000 FD & 10,100 DK Lebron James is the better of the two elite SF play’s tonight. Although the Greek Freak could hit value, Lebron’s usage has been off the charts and for a saving of 300 in the better matchup with the higher upside – give me Lebron James. Other GPP SF Option(s): Robert Covington & Kelly Oubre **If Porter is out**   PF Anthony Davis – 11,200 FD & 10,100 DK DeMarcus Cousins has a tough matchup against Marcin Gortat. Knowing that, Anthony Davis could be relied on more heavily due to his more favorable matchup against Markieff Morris or Kelly Oubre Jr. For a reasonable price, Anthony Davis could be a low owned superstar that has sneaky upside. Other GPP PF Option(s): Zach Randolph & Dario Saric/Ben Simmons   C Willie Cauley-Stein – 6,000 FD & 5,200 DK This is more of a GPP play but on such a small slate if I just listed expensive cash play’s it would be difficult to make a realistic with my picks. Cauley-Stein sees a great matchup against a 76ers team without Embiid tonight. You must pay down somewhere, Cauley-Stein is a safer option at Center that gives you salary flexibility on such a tough night for roster construction. Other GPP Center Option(s): Kevin Love & Marcin Gortat (GPP)

NBA GPP Plays 12/19/17

NBA GPP Cheat Sheet Prices listed are Fanduel unless otherwise noted.  My NBA articles will mostly focus on Fanduel lineup construction since besides center, you need to play two at each position. The players recommended are usually still good plays on DraftKings unless the pricing is drastically different. Also, many players on DraftKings have dual position eligibility or may be listed at a different position. I will try to mention if there is a specific good play on DK based on price or position eligibility. The players listed are in no particular order, as sometimes I am giving choices to help build your lineups at all price points.   Point Guard John Wall – $9500 – I don’t think I am paying up for Wall tonight. If you can afford him, highest ceiling at the position. Rajon Rondo – $6000 – He’s in a lot of my lineups based on price. Eric Bledsoe – $7100 – I have a few shares. De’Aron Fox $4200 and Frank Mason $4200 – Value plays of the night at the position. I would hedge if you can afford it.     Shooting Guard Khris Middleton – $7800 – Good upside, but not sure I am paying up for shooting guard tonight. Bradley Beal – $8400 – See above. JJ Redick – $5600 – The price I like tonight. Value/Punt Plays – Dwayne Wade $4800, Bogdan Bogdanovic $4700, E’Twaun Moore $4600     Small Forward LeBron James – $12000 The Freak – $12300 – I think you may need him or Lebron tonight to win. Tough call. Kelly Oubre – $4600 – Pairing him with one of the above if not squeezing them both in. Value/Punt Plays – Darius Miller $3500 and Dante Cunningham $3600 are punt plays.     Power Forward Ben Simmons – $9900 – Find him in a lot of my lineups. Anthony Davis – $11200 – Might be first time I have recommended him all year. Like him over Boogie tonight. Zach Randolph – $7000 – Rested last game so should be good to go. Tough matchup, but good ceiling. Dario Saric – $6600 – Been playing well, good price. Value/Punt Plays – Jeff Green $4600, Mike Scott $4500, Markieff Morris $4600     Center Joel Embid – $11500 – Well rested and should dominate against the Kings. Willie Cauley-Stein – $6000 – Savings off the big boys tonight. Kevin Love – $8000 – Favorite play at center tonight taking price in to consideration. Value/Punt Plays – Marcin Gortat $4300

I will try to mention if there is a specific good play on DK based on price or position eligibility. The players listed are in no particular order, as I am giving choices to help build your lineups at all price points. Added     Point Guard Kyrie Irving – $8100 – The Pacers have been good against the point guard recently. I think Irving can break the trend. Westbrook – $11300 – Westbrook, Westbrook, Westbrook Damian Lillard – $8700 – Price is down slightly, which makes me like him even more. Goran Dragic – $6100 – Be careful, he is a game time decision, but if he plays I like him. Khris Dunn – $7500 – Been playing well, like the floor and ceiling. Value/Punt Plays – J.J. Barea $5300, Yogi Ferrell $4800 Jawun Evans $3500, Milos Teodosic $4900, Tyler Johnson $4600 almost must play if Dragic sits   Shooting Guard   Victor Oladipo – $9300 – Back to a reasonable price. Ceiling still there. James Harden – $11000 – Think I prefer the savings down to Oladipo Donovan Mitchell – $7400 – The Rockets allow the highest DVP over the past five games at shooting guard. Will Barton – $6700 – Price dropped back to reasonable range. JJ Redick – $5900 – Still been playing well and can score more with no Joel Embid. Value/Punt Plays – Eric Gordon $4900, Andre Roberson $4600, Jeremy Lamb $4500, Wesley Mathews $4800   Small Forward Kevin Durant – $12000 – 66, 74, 51, 60 Fanduel points in the four games Curry has been out. Great floor, great ceiling. Jimmy Butler – $9000 – Finally hitting those 50-60 point ceiling games we were used to last season. Jaylen Brown – $5500 – Good play at that price range. T.J. Warren – $7800 – This is a risky one due to his recent down play. But the Mavericks are allowing the most Fanduel points to the small forward over the last five games. If there is ever a spot to bounce back, this is it. Robert Covington – $7400 – Always has higher ceiling with no Joel Embid. Value/Punt Plays – Andre Iguodala $4400, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist $4800, David Nwaba $4800   Power Forward Some good value at the position tonight. Ben Simmons – $9900 – Highest ceiling at the position tonight. Jordan Bell – $4700 – Great value, good play. Dario Saric – $6500 – Five straight games 28-35 Fanduel points. That’s a decent floor of 5X. Taj Gibson – $5800 – He bounced back as expected last game with 38 FD points. Julius Randle – $5300 – Could have big game with no Draymond Green to guard him. Value/Punt Plays – Bell, Amir Johnson $3500, Jordan Mickey $3900, Larry Nance $4900   Center Paying down at center tonight might be the way to go. Richaun Holmes – $4600 – good play and good value. Doesn’t have huge ceiling. Ekpe Udoh – $4700 – With no Gobert or Favors should do well again. Though I wouldn’t expect almost 49 fantasy points like the other night. Jusef Nurkic – $6800 – If you like DVP numbers, the Timberwolves are in the bottom five over the last five games. Clint Capela – $7400 – Be careful, he is questionable. But if he plays like the matchup with the Jazz big men out. Al Horford – $7600 – The Pacers have actually been better against the position as of late. I still think Horford is pretty safe, though probably paying down myself. Value/Punt Plays – Brook Lopez $4200, Udoh $4700, Holmes $4600   Catch NBA Live at 5 today with myself and JaguarLou going over our latest thoughts on the slate.

The players recommended are usually still good plays on DraftKings unless the pricing is drastically different. I will try to mention if there is a specific good play on DK based on price or position eligibility. The players listed are in no particular order, as sometimes I am giving choices to help build your lineups at all price points.   Point Guard Russell Westbrook – $11100 – Ceiling always there. See last night in double OT. Chris Paul – $9600 – Hope you played him last night as recommended. Kyrie Irving – $8400 – Memphis in the bottom five of DVP over the last five games at the position. Jeff Teague – $6400 – We like to target the Suns guards. Value/Punt Plays – Yogi Ferrell $4400, Ricky Rubio $4900   Shooting Guard James Harden – $11400 – Better matchup tonight than last night. Khris Middleton – $7800 – Quote from yesterday “Good floor, would like him to hit his ceiling”. He did with 55 Fanduel points. Not sure he can do it two in a row though. Nicholas Batum – $6000 – Went for 28 last night which was not quite 5X. Think he can get to 30 tonight against a poor Trailblazers team versus the shooting guard. Donovan Mitchell – $7800 – GPP play for me due to his high ceiling. Value/Punt Plays – Dwayne Wade $4800, Malcolm Brogden $4700, Jeremy Lamb $4600   Small Forward Rudy Gay – $5900 – I expect a bounce back game tonight especially if some starters rest for the Spurs. Dallas worst DVP over the last five games. Trevor Ariza – $5300 – Same as yesterday, but higher ceiling if no Clint Capela. “Safe, but no real ceiling”. Courtney Lee – $5800 – Like with or without Porzingas. Like more without. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist – $5400 – Going against second worst DVP tonight. Jaylen Brown – $5600 – Another option in the $5-6K range I like. Value/Punt Plays – Joe Ingles $4900, Josh Richardson $4900   Power Forward James Johnson – $6500 – Been playing well recently, like the upside. LaMarcus Aldrige – $8500 – Price jumped back up with Leonard resting tonight. Carmelo Anthony – $6800 – Same as yesterday… “GPP play only, risky but has upside”. Taj Gibson – $5800 – Disappointed two nights ago, think he bounces back. Value/Punt Plays – Jeff Green $4300, Derrick Favors $4900 if he plays, Tarik Black $3500 if no Capela.   Center DeAndre Jordan – $8600 – Should get all the rebounds versus the Heat. Kevin Love – $8000 – Let’s hope I get him right tonight. Good floor, good ceiling. Marc Gasol – $8200 – Good ceiling versus a poor rebounding Celtics team. Karl-Anthony Towns – $10600 – Highest ceiling at the position tonight. Value/Punt Plays – Aron Baynes $3800

Fuego Steve’s NBA Cheat Sheet 12/15/17

The players recommended are usually still good plays on DraftKings unless the pricing is drastically different. Also, many players on DraftKings have dual position eligibility or may be listed at a different position. I will try to mention if there is a specific good play on DK based on price or position eligibility. The players listed are in no particular order, as sometimes I am giving choices to help build your lineups at all price points.   Point Guard Russell Westbrook – $10900 – Had a triple double last game with only 10 points scored. He will score more tonight. Chris Paul – $9400 – Has been playing very well. Four straight games over 43 Fanduel points and two of those four over 57 fantasy points. Kyle Lowry – $8300 – The Nets are second worst in DVP over the last five games. Rajon Rondo – $6000 – Like the upside for tournaments. Damian Lillard – $9500 – Prefer Paul, but can get behind Lillard as well. Value/Punt Plays – Tyler Johnson $4700, Ricky Rubio $4900, Andrew Harrison $4500   Shooting Guard James Harden – $11300 – Can still hit his ceiling even with Paul playing so well. Gary Harris – $6400 – The Pelicans have allowed the most Fanduel points over the last five and ten games versus the shooting guard position. Khris Middleton – $7800 – Good floor, would like him to hit his ceiling. Victor Oladipo – $9600 – Back under $10k, still has the same ceiling as Harden at this point. Nicholas Batum – $6000 – Good price still for his possible ceiling games of 50+. Value/Punt Plays – Alec Burks $4200, E’twaun Moore $4800, Malcolm Brogden $4900, Jeremy Lamb $4600   Small Forward Paul George – $7600 – Disappointed two days ago, I am willing to go back to the well. Otto Porter – $7000 – Clippers third worst DVP at small forward over the last five games. Kawhi Leonard – $6800 – Only needs 34 fantasy points to hit 5X. He can get that even if his minutes are being monitored. Trevor Ariza – $5100 – Safe, but no real ceiling. Giannis Antetokounmpo – They call him the Freak for a reason. Over 60 Fanduel points the last two games. Value/Punt Plays – Sam Dekker $4300, David Nwaba $4600, Joe Ingles $4700   Power Forward Ben Simmons – $9200 – Price is down to match his recent play. Still like the ceiling. LaMarcus Aldrige – $7900 – Price is also down, due to Leonard being back most likely which makes sense. Little lower ceiling due to this but still like him tonight. Serge Ibaka – $6500 – Don’t like the price jump, but still playable. Carmelo Anthony – $6500 – GPP play only, risky but has upside. Jayson Tatum – $5700 – Favorite play priced under $6k. Value/Punt Plays – Ryan Anderson $4000, Kenneth Faried $4700, Trey Lyles $4300   Center Andre Drummond – $9400 – Didn’t disappoint last night with over 50 Fanduel points. Always like playing centers versus the Pacers. Marc Gasol – $8300 – The Hawks have the worst DVP versus centers over the last five games. Steven Adams – $6900 – Safe floor, though doesn’t have the ceiling of a Drummond or Gasol. Clint Capela – $7400 – The Spurs have been great against the center the past five games. I think Capela can break through though with the focus on Paul and Harden. Rudy Gobert – $7000 – Price is still deflated since coming back from injury. Think he can hit 6X tonight. Value/Punt Plays – Marcin Gortat $4500

Scouting the NBA 12/15/17

Plays of the Day   Value: Nikola Mirotic has been the key cog in the Bulls recent four-game winning streak and it’s hard to imagine him coming off the floor for extended stretches even if rookie Lauri Markkanen (back) is able to return tonight. Fade: Nikola Vucevic has been rolling lately, but could face a tough defender tonight if Jusuf Nurkic (ankle) returns and might regress in terms of usage if Aaron Gordon returns from a concussion for Orlando.   Point Guards   Kyrie Irving – (8,000 DK/8,400 FD) After a bad loss in Chicago, Kyrie returned to resurrect the Celtics offense with a huge 33-point game on Wednesday. He draws an even better matchup for the second game of this homestand against a Jazz team that’s struggled to defend on the perimeter since acquiring Ricky Rubio, giving up the fifth-most FPPG (49.89) and most RPG (8.92) to opposing PGs over the last month. While he’s been less efficient, Kyrie is rocking a 32.4 percent usage rate at home this season and Is surprisingly cheap on both main DFS sites given his floor-ceiling combination. Andrew Harrison – (4,600 DK/4,500 FD) Mario Chalmers has been a flop with Mike Conley (Achilles) injured and with Tyreke Evans (hip) out on Wednesday as well, Harrison dropped a career-high 20 points over 30 minutes of run. He’s posting a 24.2 percent usage rate and averaging 1.03 FPs per minute with Conley and Evans off the floor and if Memphis is ready to plan for the future in the midst of an apparently doomed season, they’d be wise to give their second-year guard more run going forward.   Potential Value Spencer Dinwiddie – (6,400 DK/7,300 FD) Dinwiddie posted a monster line on Thursday and he’s even cheaper tonight ahead of a road tilt in Toronto.   Longshot Rajon Rondo – (6,100 DK/6,000 FD) Rondo is producing on an incredible per-minute basis, but his playing time has been up and down and apparently fluctuates on his own accord at times.   Shooting Guards DeMar DeRozan – (8,400 DK/9,100 FD) He was red hot in a plus matchup against the Suns on Wednesday and DeRozan should keep rolling in an equally prime spot tonight at home against Brooklyn. The Nets give up the third-most PPG (110.8) while playing at the second-fastest pace in the NBA and DDR averaged 26.3 PPG on 43 percent FG shooting over three meetings with Brooklyn last year. The Nets have been surprisingly competitive and should keep this game close enough for DeRozan and potentially Kyle Lowry to fill the stat sheet. Jamal Murray – (5,600 DK/5,700 FD) Murray’s been quite consistent as a scorer for the Nuggets with Nikola Jokic (ankle) working his way back to speed and Will Barton (hip) also hurt. The second-year man out of Kentucky is averaging 19.4 PPG with a 26 percent usage rate over his last seven appearances. Tonight he’ll face a Pelicans team that’s given up the second-most PPG (25.0) and third-most FPPG (52.38) to opposing PGs over the last month and ranks 28th in overall defensive rating while allowing the second-most 3PTM (11.2) per game this year.   Potential Value Alec Burks – (4,700 DK/4,200 FD) Burks continues to score consistently off the bench and wasn’t dramatically affected by the return of Rodney Hood (ankle) on Wednesday.   Longshot Donovan Mitchell – (6,600 DK/7,400 FD) The highest scoring rookie in the league should find ways to produce despite facing the Celtics league-leading defense.   Small Forwards Paul George – (7,700 DK/7,600 FD) George could be in for a bounce back effort tonight against the Sixers after he seemed to show some nerves in his return to Indiana on Wednesday. Philly is giving up the fourth-most FPPG (43.9) and most SPG (2.23) to opposing SFs and PG leads the league at 2.4 SPG this season. His offense has been boom or bust, but he’s getting plenty of open shots while playing alongside Russell Westbrook and the Sixers are giving up the sixth-most PPG (108.9) while playing at the fourth-fastest pace in the league this year.  Jonathon Simmons – (6,600 DK/6,700 FD) He’s long been one of the most talented NBA players that isn’t getting consistent run, but now Simmons has been given a chance to start as a key cog in Orlando’s fast-paced system. He’s scored 15-plus points in seven consecutive appearances and 70 over his last three with 17 rebounds and 13 assists during that span. While Portland is a solid defensive team, Simmons has the athleticism to bang with the Blazers revolving door rotation of wings and meet value once again.   Potential Value Wilson Chandler – (4,500 DK/4,600 FD) Chandler has been productive over his last three appearances and could see a bump in usage if Will Barton (back) remains out.   Longshot Caris LeVert – (5,200 DK/5,900 FD) LeVert is suddenly cheap on DK despite sustained production in the absence of D’Angelo Russell (knee). Power Forwards Nikola Mirotic – (5,500 DK/5,900 FD) Mirotic has essentially been the key to the Bulls recent four-game winning streak, so it would be very difficult for Bulls HC Fred Hoiberg to take him off the floor even once Lauri Markkanen (back) is ready to return to action. Mirotic can play the 3 and may be asked to tonight in a matchup against the versatile Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee is allowing opponents to shoot a league-high 40.2 percent from 3-point range this season and Mirotic is a scorching 11-of-20 from downtown while scoring 72 points over his last three appearances. Al-Farouq Aminu – (4,900 DK/5,500 FD) Aminu is still a bit under priced after missing a couple of weeks with an ankle injury and has a solid floor in a matchup against the fast-paced and oft defenseless Magic. He posted his first double double since coming back with 15 points and 13 boards in a tough matchup against the Heat and will now face a team that gives up the second-most FPPG (50.7)

Jaguar Lou’s Top Play’s – 12/14/17

PG Dennis Schroder –  7,700 FD & 7,200 DK Dennis Schroder has a nice matchup in a game where Kent Bazemore has a poor matchup. This typically results in Schroder taking control of Atlanta’s offense. Schroder faces Reggie Jackson, a player that I am never worried about on the defensive end of the court. Other GPP PG Option(s): Spencer Dinwiddie & Yogi Ferrell / J.J Barea (GPP)   SG Wesley Matthews – 5,100 FD & 4,600 DK While most people are on Klay Thompson tonight, I will be going against the grain, investing in Wesley Matthews at lower ownership. Yes, Klay is at a reasonable price and has a usage uptick with Steph Curry, Draymond Green & Zaza Pachulia injured but for his value, Matthews is in a nice spot against a damaged Warriors team. Wesley Matthews might not have the highest ceiling but his floor is high and his price is low for what he is – 35 minutes on the floor defending Klay Thompson. Other GPP SG Option(s): Courtney Lee   SF Lebron James – 12,600 FD & 11,900 DK While most are on KD, I’m on LBJ. He actually has a much more favorable matchup than KD (despite his usage increase). Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes are very capable defenders, this is not as simple as it seems. I am avoiding these players because of their expected high ownership. Other GPP SF Option(s): DeMarre Carroll & Omri Casspi (GPP)   PF Kristaps Porzingis – 10,200 FD & 9,600 DK Simply the highest floor at a weak position. Your paying for it but he is in a great matchup. Other GPP PF Option(s): Tobias Harris & Jordan Bell and/or Maxi Kleber (GPP)     C Andre Drummond – 11,400 FD & 9.300 DK Lock him in if you have the money, done deal. Best play of the night. The Center position is the best on slate in terms of raw points, i.e. take multiple Center’s on Draft Kings! Other GPP Center Option(s): Enes Kanter & Kevin Love
