WEATHER As typical with this season we have overcast & rain on Sundays. Games in NY, Baltimore, Detroit and Atlanta all have chances of rain but all should play. SLATES DraftKings included the two 3PM window games, which is odd that we have the Phillies/Padres game on their main slate today but they wouldn’t dare put it on their Live Final Turbo slate last night. In the two 3PM games there is an arm to consider (Lucchesi) and some Dodger bats to look at as well. PITCHING I am not interested in paying a premium on Sale coming off a mini DL stint and I think Baltimore steals this game (which is why I kinda like Cobb) however you can not go wrong using Sale in my mind today if you like the bats. High End Guys Noah Syndergaard … Wow, what a trash lineup from the Marlins today. Hard to ignore Thor in this spot given his price. Carlos Carrasco … Has pitched fantastic in Chicago and gets a White Sox lineup that has a couple trouble spots (Palka/Abreu) but not too much to scare me off him. MID RANGE Sleepers Matt Boyd … Boyd at home against the Twins who are a team we have picked on in the second half (despite some lineup changes grant you) with left handed pitchers. Zack Godley … Love the matchup for Godley today despite the ballpark. He should get a strikeout boost and navigate a mediocre lineup today. Jake Junis … Junis > Covey LONGSHOTS Alex Cobb … It’s August, but Cobb seems to have finally settled into what the Orioles expected out of him. He’s insanely cheap today and I wouldn’t be opposed to even gamestacking Sale & Cobb together here today and moving on from there if you wanna use Sale on DK. Diamondbacks … They’re not leaving here without Pollock going off Yankees … Weather could drive my love down off them, but I like this spot for Hicks/Giancarlo at the top of that order Royals … Don’t mind going after Weaver even with the lowly Royals. There is a nice four game slate early on DraftKings today starting at 2 PM EST and the last game in LA starts at 4:07 PM EST. Three of the games are in warm temps including the Pirates-Rockies game in Coors and the fourth game will have the roof closed in Arizona. All games play without weather issues. PITCHING I expect some offense in the three outdoor games today not just because of the weather but also the pitching in them. Vincent Velasquez … Price and matchup considerations put him as number one over Corbin today. Blaine Hardy … Process of elimination and magic trick hope lands us on Blaine Hardy today. What I mean by that is, we’re not gonna trust Gallardo at 4.4k as an SP2 and a lot will talk themselves out of using a pitcher in Coors field (Archer/Marquez) in a day game so that brings us to Hardy who’s nothing sexy but has pitched well and for the slate gives us a decent SP2 choice. STACKS Mariners … Seattle again, who did fine last night with Seager and Cruz both going yard and Gordon getting a triple as well. I expect them to destroy Gallardo today. Rockies … Rockies win today after getting thumped last night SNEAKY Phillies … Franco and Rhys mostly.
