Dongers Club: 9/3 Main Slate
Five games will make up the Labor Day Main slate tonight PITCHING Jake deGrom … Usually on a small slate like this we would auto fade someone like deGrom who is facing a tough opponent but still would be the popular play. His price though is tough to fit him in and for that reason he becomes actually a nice contrarian top play today. I prefer mid range / value guys below on FD, but locking in a 25 from Jake on DK makes sense tonight. Erasmo Ramirez … The Mariners welcome in the Orioles who have had some good games in Seattle in the past and certainly have been a sneaky offensive team of late but they’re still ranked pretty low and this is a spot where I’ll take the value arm in Erasmo and pick on the Birds tonight. Marcus Stroman … Stroman and Shoemaker will be chalk options totday on DK and it’ts no brainer Stroman for me TOP STACKS Angels … in … Arlington. Trout, Simmons and Marte. The Rangers are also in a good spot tonight so its’ worth coniseration of a game stack here, but I like the game below just as much. Diamondbacks …. Facing Bryan Mitchell back at home should have a good game tonight. Top of the order is where I would put the faith tonight. Happy Sunday! MLB DFS is here with a small slate today, but I think we could see some fireworks.
Dongers Club: Sat 9/1
With September here we will see rosters expand and rookies coming up. From a hitting standpoint you will see some new lineups with guys batting in different spots, but the big difference will be in the pitching area where bullpens are expanded now and in some cases we see managers getting guys in just to get them work and experience making things a little less predictable. We’ll continue to focus on a few key games and go from there to reduce the noise. PITCHING Jon Gray in PETCO …. Gray owns the Padres and pitches well in PETCO and is someone who has been really reliable in MOST of his starts since coming back up to the bigs after a cup of coffee down at AAA in mid season. Kevin Gausman … Nice little matchup between two guys dealt right before the trade deadline (the real one) and I like Gausman as the home pitcher in an NL park and vs a Pirates team that just doesn’t have a lot going for it right now. He fits perfectly with Gray tonight on DK LONGSHOT Wei-Yin Chen … Back on the Chen Home splits and it’s a Saturday so we can ride the South Beach Theory tonight. STACKS PHILLIES … Hendricks is Mr. Just a guy, but tonight I think the sleeping dog will be woken up and the Phils tee off on him. Hoskins, Bour (hope he plays) and Willie Mays Hayes (Odubel Herrera). TWINS .. Minnesota remains the team in the best park shift + facing bad SP. Mr. Saturday Sano is the top guy here to get that HR we didn’t get last night. ORIOLES … I expect Baltimore to win tonight and get all over Fillmyer. WEATHER Milwaukee @ Washington – Chance of storms, but nothing that should cause any PPD issues PITCHING Corey Kluber … Some people will look at Severino as a -350 favorite or even Wheeler against the Giants and try to get cute here. Kluber isn’t in a perfect spot against a pesky Rays team, but despite a couple HR to lefties I expect him to continue his recent surge of pitching good baseball and get the win tonight along with 7 innings and 7 strikeouts. Best arm to pay up for and he isn’t overpriced. Nathan Eovaldi … The Red Sox are making adjustments to Eovaldi rather than forcing him to adjust to them and while everyone is running away from someone they were clamoring for earlier this year I am going to run towards the fire and I expect him to have a fantastic outing tonight vs the White Sox. He is my #1 arm on FanDuel and also has the benefit of Will Little calling balls and strikes. MID TIER / LONGSHOTS Andrew Suarez … Mets have struggled vs LHP and going into a big pitchers park Suarez is overpriced but should pitch okay tonight. Mike Fiers … STACKS Stacking Sucks, it’s Friday. Got a problem with that? Seriously though, teams I like the most for offense tonight are … Twins … Good warm ballpark and all the Miguel Sano a man can get. Don’t mind the OF here either as it’s a weak OF night but I would only play them all together. PITCHING
Mike Clevinger … If you’re paying up for both pitchers today I would recommend Hill+Clevinger and not Folty vs the Braves. Both Hill and Clevinger are gonna get 20 DK points tonight.
Rich Hill … I am going to go ahead and bite the bullet here and roster Rich Hill tonight. Sub 10k for him against the Padres at home is a spot where we should expect 2x and pray he doesn’t turn into the blister Hill tonight. Injury history is really the biggest deterrent off of him but there’s no signs of any issues potentially tonight and this is a bad Padres team coming out of Coors and in a stadium we can pick on them in. He is much more viable in cash games than tournaments though because he’s not someone who has extreme upside.
