Week 4 NFL DraftKings Bargains

Oftentimes we build that monster Draftkings lineup for Sunday and the most challenging final roster spot is the cheap or undervalued flex position. When it comes to season-long leagues, you might be the team with Tee Higgins, Jerry Jeudy, and Dalvin Cook and need to play your bench options now. That’s not an issue in DFS games. Let’s look at Draftkings pass-catchers priced at $4000 and under that could be difference-makers. Don’t underestimate ten points when trying to win a Draftkings contest or a seasonal head-to-head game. This week you’ll see many opportunities and values with tight ends, an emerging position in NFL play-calling, but still quite affordable pricing on Draftkings. Wide Receivers Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (Tennessee Titans) $3200 – Would you be surprised if Ryan Tannehill features the second-year WR against a raw Jets defense? His underrated Week 3 stat line (4/56/1 on 4 targets) can’t be ignored in this particular matchup vs the Jets. The chunk yards and red-zone looks along with the $3200 price make Westbrook appealing. Westbrook picked up via high-stakes waivers from many successful players so sometimes you should follow the trail. Van Jefferson (Los Angeles Rams) $3900 – Van Jefferson’s DNA bolds well for success given the fact his father (an NFL wide receivers coach for 10-plus years) and he’s finally getting significant playing time. I’ve heard a lot of enthusiasm from players who hold large shares of Jefferson in high stakes. This game should be loose with Stafford vs. Kyler Murray potential and Jefferson could surprise. Coming off of a game where he played 77% of his team’s snaps, Jefferson is in a great spot to produce for minimal cost. K.J. Osbourne (Minnesota Vikings) $3700 – Keep an eye on the injury to Vikings’ tight end Tyler Conklin. In Week 3, Minnesota found a hole in the Seattle secondary and exposed it with Conklin, who took opportunities away from Osborne. Conklin has been dinged up this week. I think the Browns, roster-wise, trump the Vikings and envision Cousins playing catch up. That should lead to ample targets for Osbourne, and a profitable return on investment.  DeSean Jackson (Los Angeles Rams) $3800 – In Week 3, Matthew Stafford missed D-Jax twice on long throws that could have been TDs or huge gains. On one of the misconnections, Jackson burned Tampa’s secondary, confirming he still has world-class speed left in his game. Stafford finally connected for a 75 -ard TD and the veteran WR ended with a solid 3/120/1 line. If your league rewards long TDs or you seek the upside DK player in your lineup, roll the dice on D-Jax Braxton Berrios (New York Jets) $3700 – If you like the targets, then Berrios could be a crafty play, especially if Jamison Crowder is out. Throw away last week’s game vs Denver and Berrios is averaging six targets from rookie Zach Wilson. Couple this with a Tennessee pass defense that distinctly ranks in the bottom-4 worst defenses vs. opposing wideouts with 680 yards surrendered so far, and you might have a solid sleeper here in Berrios. Tight Ends Mike Gesicki (Miami Dolphins) $4000 –  If you look into Giseicki’s games from last year, you’ll notice he was quite streaky. This week you’ve probably seen Twitter blowing up with “Jacoby Brissett feeds tight ends” examples. The veteran Brissett prefers the check-down game and Giseicki’s 12 targets from Week 3 could be in play, plus Giseicki has a history of big home games.  Dawson Knox (Buffalo Bills) $3600 – For just $3600, you should put some thought into inserting Knox into your lineups versus Houston. Only Baltimore and Miami have allowed more yards to TEs and the Texans’ 21 receptions to the position thus far is tied for second-most. With thunderstorms expected at Highmark stadium, I think this gives Knox an advantage to the TE who has scored TDs in two straight and his a ripe matchup. Austin Hooper (Cleveland Browns) $3700 – At the conclusion of the 2020 season, when the Browns were thin at WR, Baker Mayfield started to lean on Austin Hooper and that formula is back in play in Week 4. Once again these types of player selections have a goal of 10-plus points, which can be the difference. Hooper has hit this mark consecutive weeks and the matchup with the Vikings bolds well, as Minnesota has allowed 222 yards to TEs, 7th most. Zach Ertz (Philadelphia Eagles $3500 – Ertz is coming off a Week 3 performance that demonstrated his potential in three phases: targets (7), yards (53), and a touchdown. When considering a lower-end TE, not being TD-dependent helps mitigate risk. Kansas City has allowed 232 receiving yards to TEs through three games, fifth-most in the league. If you value game script data, then Ertz is also appealing. The matchup with the Chiefs should see plenty of scoring potential and has an over/under of 54.5, the highest of the Week 4 slate.  Dalton Schultz (Dallas Cowboys) $3400 – For my money, Dalton Schultz was definitely keyed in with Dak Prescott in his Monday Night Football breakout game- an outing that won people lots of money. Talk about riding the hot hand as Schultz emerged as one of Dallas’ main receiving threats in the absence of Michael Gallup. Both Dallas and Carolina are hot and have aggressive play-calling, which gives the game a leg up in terms of desired players in specific matchups in Week 4. The $3400 price is kinda disrespectful to boot. The 2021 NFL season is well underway but it’s not too late to get access to the best help out there! NHL DFS: Point Shot Cheat Sheet – 8/19

Vancouver Canucks Miller – Pettersson – Boeser Montreal Canadiens Tatar – Suzuki – Gallagher   Value Line Stack Boston Bruins Debrusk – Krejci – Kase Arizona Coyotes Hall – Stepan – Keller   Top Goalies Darcy Kuemper (ARI) – Kuemper and the Yotes had their brains beaten in last time out but that too me was just a blip for this strong defensive team. Kuemper has been seeing a ton of shots, his salary is still low, and the upside that comes with him is immense. Jacob Markstrom (VAN) – Markstrom has been strong and has been dealt two tough-luck losses in a row. Markstrom has stopped at least 34 shots in each of his last three games and at $7600 he’s in a great position to pay off. Carey Price (MTL) – It’s do or die for Montreal as the Habs have gone scoreless in each of their last two games. Price hasn’t seen a lot of work in each of his last two outings but that could change tonight assuming the Montreal plays with a little bit more urgency in the neutral zone and offensive zone making the pace here a little more up and down. GOOD LUCK!!

NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES (PLAYOFF EDITION) 8/18/2020

Here we go day two of the 2020 playoffs. Four games today starting at 1:30. The Vegas lines have three of the four games staying close. The Bucks are a 12 point favorite over the Magic. The Magic get the largest pace bump on the slate at +7 and the Thunder are right behind at +6. I have a lot of interest in the Thunder players as they get a nice pace bump and an excellent matchup as the Rockets have been one of the worst teams on the year and the worst in the bubble. The Blazers have been playing a tight rotation and now they are down a player, so Hassan Whiteside should see some additional run and Mario Hezonja could some additional minutes. Most of the starters have been playing high 30s and low 40s in minutes.   POINT GUARDS Chris Paul In the bubble Paul has played well putting up 30 or more FPs in all games but one and that one he only played  23 minutes. This is an excellent spot for him in a pace up game against the worst defensive team in the bubble that will be without Russell Westbrook. This is the type of game where you see the upside from Paul as the game runs faster and this opens up more opportunities for him. A few addition shots, rebounds steals and before you know it he has a 50 burger. He is the leader of this team and I expect him to take charge today and lead the Thunder to victory. In the past two games against the Rockets he posted 50 and 42 FPs respectively. Damian Lillard-playing at a high level again. Price is reasonable on FanDuel and on the high side on DraftKings at 11.4k. He gets a tougher matchup with the Lakers today, but dropped 82 FPs on them earlier this year along with two 50 FPs performances. I will have some Lillard today. Markell Fultz- starting in a fast paced game.   VALUE Goran Dragic- cheap option on DK and starting today. Alex Caruso-should see minutes and Blazers have struggled vs opposing PGs.   SHOOTING GUARDS James Harden The Rockets will be without Wesbrook today which increases Hardens usage from 36% to 43% and FPPM form 1.6 to 1.8. Will definitely have exposure to him as he can go off on any given night, especially with no Westbrook. Something to note- the Thunder have done a good job at limiting Harden this year keeping him to an ever age of 45 FPs with a high of 57. Giannis is the other pay up spot and he has been an absolute FPPM beast this year At just shy of 2.0. He is the contrarian play at has similar upside to Harden. Giannis has a very nice price on DK. Jimmy Butler- Butler loves playing against TJ Warren. Will step up today. Just dropped a 50 burger on them.   VALUE Terrance Ross Dennis Schroder- back in the mix. Love this pace up spot off the bench for Schroder. Kentavios Caldwell-Pope   SMALL FORWARDS Danilo Gallinari Gallo is under priced on FanDuel at only 5.2K. His fantasy point average is 28. This is a pace up spot where he should see some additional minutes in the playoffs which helps his upside. As you can see like the Thunder players going against the faster paced Rockets who play little to no defense.   VALUE Jae Crowder Good defender and can do a little bit of everything. Should see solid minutes in this matchup. Justin Holiday James Ennis   POWER FORWARDS Anthony Davis Davis should have his way against this Blazer team today as long as he can stay on the court. Blazers have no one to contain Davis. 78, 42 and 63 vs Blazers this year. Darius Bazley-played at a high level towards the end of the season. VALUE Marvin Williams   CENTERS Nikola Vucevic The Magic get a big pace bump today against the Bucks. This is a very good spot for Vucevic with the pace bump and the fact that the Bucks have not played defense as well as they did earlier this year. Vucevic should dominate Brook Lopez as he did in the past(52 and 49 FPs over the last two matchups). Steven Adams VALUE Hasan Whiteside  JaVale McGee   **Chris Paul and Anthony Davis are my locks. Will have a mixture of the rest of these plays in my lineups.

NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES (Playoff edition) 8/17/2020

Here we go. Playoffs are on. Today we are looking at 4 games starting at 1:30 PM EST. This is the playoffs, so you will see tighter rotations along with some players getting more minutes. People will look at recent game logs for players and see limited minutes or low FPs. Already have a player that left the bubble for personal reasons (Mike Conley). They are now down two starters from the regular season. Donovan Mitchell picks up the most usage with these two off the court. Jordan Clarkson and Rudy Gobert will also play a bigger role. Joe Ingles could see some time at the point increasing his value. On the other side of the Jazz game the Nuggets are still with out two starters Gary Harris and Will Barton. Monte Morris should continue to start and we should see additional minutes from Jamal Murray and a few of the other starters. My favorite plays at each position are listed first with a full writeup. I like them to give the best return per $.   POINT GUARDS  Jamal Murray (PG Nuggets) The Nuggets are still with out Gary Harris and Will Burton leaving Murray as the #1 guard. In his first game back from injury Murray took 25 shots and scored 23 points. He added 12 rebounds and 8 assists in that game just missing a triple double. This game was against the Jazz the same he is playing today. The way to attack the Jazz is at the guard position. Murray should see minutes in the high 30s with them down a few guards. Kemba Walker– price is down on both sites. Minutes limited removed.   VALUE Alec Burks- experience will get him run in the playoffs.  Seth Curry   SHOOTING GUARDS Donovan Mitchell (PG/SG Jazz) The Jazz will be without Mike Conley the starting point guard and with him off the floor Mitchell takes charge leading the way in usage. He will pick up a few extra minutes as well. Caris LeVert- absolute beast as of late and should continue into the playoffs.   VALUE Jordan Clarkson– no Conley means more minutes for Clarkson. Marcus Smart- steps up in the playoffs. Garret Temple-experienced player that will need to step up.   SMALL FORWARDS Josh Richardson (SG/SF Sixers) The Sixers will be with out Ben Simmons for the playoffs and I expect J Rich to step up and play big. He is an all around player that can do it all on both sides of the court. I also expect him to play big minutes today. The Celtics will have  most of the focus on Embiid so I expect J Rich to take advantage of that. This year he has played very well vs this Celtics team. Paul George- George and Leonard have similar upside, but George is cheaper option. Both are good plays but rank George first. Gordon Heyward – he will step up this year in the playoffs and show why he was brought to Boston.   VALUE Norman Powell-high upside in this mathcup. OG Anunoby   POWER FORWARDS Paul Milsap (PF Nuggets) Milsaps minutes have been all over the place during the regular season. Anywhere from the teens to the mid 30s. This should change during the playoffs as Milsap has the experience and talent to help the Nuggets. Expecting him to play closer to 30 minutes and at his price, especially on FanDuel he is a steal. Kristaps Porzingas- I can see George and Leonard trying to lock down Doncic, which will allow Porzingas to get his. Luka Doncic is in play everyday and enough value to get him in today as well. Rank Porzingas ahead of him today.   VALUE Al Horford Rondae Hollis-Jefferson   CENTERS Marc Gasol (C Raptors) During the regular season Gasol averaged around 26 minutes per game with some in the lower 20s, especially as of late. Last year during the playoffs he averaged 30 minutes and previous years closer to 40. Expect Gasol to see close to 30 minutes and possibly more if game stays close. He is a good defender which will help him stay on the floor. Best matchup for a center on the board as the Nets are ranked dead last allowing over 60 FPs in the bubble. Under 5K on both FanDuel and DraftKings and best play per value. Excellent value play as well. Nikola Jokic
