FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 6

Approaching the half-mile pole, of the 2023 Fulltime Fantasy Football regular season, Week 6 is now in the books. Despite just two teams being on a BYE, plus reflecting the 11-3 record that UNDER game total bets posted, we had our lowest scoring week since Week 1. As a result, the FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 6 reviews the many changes. Here is a look at the Top 20 Leaderboards across the four Major FTF Tournaments. FFWC XI World Championship Tournament For the first time this season, the top three teams remain unchanged in the race to claim the $150K FFWC XI Grand Prize. Seven new teams joined the FTF World Championship Top 20 Leaderboard following Week 6 action. Rolling along, Team Just(in) Time (5-1) continues as the FFWC XI overall leader for a fifth straight week. Simeon Yarbrough and Brian Marzorini regained their early-season form as they posted 190.45 points. That was the fourth-highest Week 6 WC total and increased their lead from 21.30 to 27.40 points. Mr Yellow Stickers (5-1) remains in second place overall for the second straight week. Racking up another big total, Mike Schlissberg’s WC Circa Hybrid squad scored 184.35 points. That was the 11th-highest Week 6 WC score. Mike increased his second-place lead from 0.25 to 42.15 points. Team Zefurs IV (5-1) fell from the unbeaten ranks but was still able to retain third place overall. Let down by his dynamic Kittle/LaPorta TE duo, who scored 8.7 combined points, KJ Duke’s squad posted 142.45 points. The good news is that Zefurs IV still leads the WC 9/3 9 PM ET league by 83.45 points. Moving up one position, Team Schinker jumped from fifth to fourth overall. Chris Schinker’s squad posted 166.90 points during Week 6 action. Consistency is key to making the playoffs, and Team Schinker is averaging 169.61 points per week. The 2022 FFWC X overall leader, after 14 weeks last season, averaged 167.47 points per week. Making a big jump, Team Honeycutt moved from 30th overall to fifth. Steve Honeycutt‘s FFWC Online 8/22 9 PM ET squad posted 182.60 points. Steve’s team was sitting 208th, after Week 2 action, but has steadily climbed the leaderboard by averaging 178.68 points over the past four weeks. Our FFWC XI “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Team Mr O. Brian Schrieber’s FFWC SLOW 1 squad scored a Week 6 high 194.10 points. Every move has to start somewhere, and Brian’s squad jumped from 480th to 273rd overall. He also moved to within 56.54 points of the fourth playoff qualifying position in his league. For the first time since Week 1, no team reached the 200-point plateau. Down from 30 teams, that had a 5-0 record after Week 5 action, just 17 FFWC XI squads still own a perfect 6-0 record. Only three of those teams are in the current Top 20 overall. Week 6, during FFWC X action last year, was similar to this season on a few levels. That includes it being a low-scoring week, plus exactly five WC teams reached the 1,000-point plateau. We also sent out this modified heads-up: Navigating injuries, plus BYE weeks, is challenging for everyone. On the injury front, some have been more fortunate than others. That said, every team is looking to add new weapons. Bid wisely, during the first Week 7 FAAB waiver run at 11:00 PM ET on Wednesday, 10/18/23. Teams on a Week 7 BYE: Bengals, Cowboys, Titans, Jets, Panthers, and Texans. Circa Las Vegas Fantasy Championship Scoring also dropped in our inaugural FullTime Fantasy Circa LVFC Tournament. After Owners in the Top 20 scored 3638.50 combined points during Week 5, that number dropped to 3245.60 (-392.90) during Week 6 action. Setting a season-low, just five new teams entered the Top 20 list. For the sixth straight week, we have a new FTF Circa LVFC leader as Team 2 Bros DP (5-1) moved from second to first overall. Robert Dinges followed his 196.4 Week 5 outburst with 194.0 points. That is the fourth-highest Week 6 total. Robert now leads the Circa LVFC SLOW 5 league by 193.6 points. Slipping one position, Team LOB dropped from first to second overall. Mark Deming’s Circa LVFC 7/16 10:00 PM ET squad posted 162.55 points. Mark’s squad still managed to move to 6-0 and sits just 8.6 points out of the top spot. Team Leave It In (4-2) jumped into fourth to third place overall. Mike Moore and Michael Scherneck’s Circa LVFC 9/6 10 PM ET squad posted 192.8 points. With 182.85 as the low, scored back in Week 3, that team has now averaged 188.57 points over the last five weeks. That’s a great recovery after posting 125.30 points in Week 1. Moving down one position, Team Miller slipped from third to fourth place. Jason Miller’s squad posted 154.35 points and has now spent the last four weeks in the LVFC top six overall. Team Miller moved to 6-0 and leads the Circa LVFC 8/27 5 PM ET league by 136.50 points. Entering the Top 5, for the first time this season, The Godfather jumped from eighth to fifth place overall. Tony Colavita’s Circa LVFC 5/27 10:30 PM ET team posted 161.61 points and now has a 5-1 record. This team is a perfect example of “never quit grinding” as Tony was 666th overall after Week 1 action. Our FTF Circa LVFC “Shout Out of the Week” is split between Team Ronis (207.80), Dingos Dreamteam SLOW II (205.45), and Jax Car Salesman (200.55), who were the only players to top 200 points this week. Three teams topping 200 points is down from 20 teams last week. After 40 teams entered Week 5 with a perfect 5-0 record, just 22 of the 1,056 Circa LVFC teams are still undefeated. After Matthew Lyons was the only Owner with two Top 20 teams last week, Sean Cruzen joined him this week. One of Sean’s squads jumped from 23rd to tenth, while the other moved from 26th to 15th overall. Dynasty

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 6

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 6 After an awful Week 5 slate for injuries, many fantasy football managers are scrambling to fill out a competitive lineup. FullTime Fantasy‘s Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 6 can help you find those hidden gems to insert this week. Also, what notable players could disappoint in Week 6. Quarterbacks Start ‘Em Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams) vs. Arizona In his debut with Cooper Kupp back in action, Matthew Stafford threw for 222 yards and two touchdown passes. Stafford now boasts a pair of elite wide receivers at his disposal, complemented by strong secondary receiving options. While he has typically been a reliable, high-floor quarterback, the return of Kupp has heightened his potential, offering a significantly higher ceiling. This week, he faces a favorable matchup against the Cardinals, who have allowed the fourth-highest passing yardage and the sixth-most touchdowns in the NFL. Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks) at Cincinnati Ranked 23rd in terms of fantasy points per game, Geno Smith is coming off a bye week. That was a much-needed extra week of prep time. Also, there is speculation about getting Jaxon Smith-Njigba more involved in the offensive scheme. That would be a big boost to the passing game. And, there are no significant concerns about Smith’s minor knee issue. Notably, the Bengals are one of the top teams in terms of points allowed to fantasy quarterbacks. Also, this matchup has the potential for a high-scoring shootout, particularly against a depleted Bengals secondary. Sit ‘Em Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers) at Cleveland Purdy, who has been a borderline fantasy starting quarterback in most weeks, is coming off a strong performance. However, the early season MVP candidate faces a challenging matchup against the Cleveland Browns, who have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Purdy’s success has typically come against zone defense. And he struggles more against man coverage. Unfortunately, the Browns predominantly employ man defense, making it unlikely that Purdy will deliver a strong performance. Also, Cleveland has allowed an NFL-low three touchdown passes so far in 2023. Running Backs Start ‘Em Alexander Mattison (Minnesota Vikings) at Chicago Last week Mattison recorded eight rushes for 26 yards but managed to salvage his fantasy value with a receiving touchdown. Cam Akers is starting to see more early-down work. Also, C.J. Ham has taken the majority of third-down responsibilities. This week, the Vikings will square off against the Chicago Bears, who have conceded the third-most fantasy points to running backs this season. Furthermore, the Minnesota offensive line holds a significant advantage over the Chicago defensive line in terms of run blocking. Given the Bears’ low pass-rush grade, Mattison should not be required for pass protection, making him the primary choice for passing downs. Finally, with the Vikings favored, even in the absence of Justin Jefferson, Mattison should receive double-digit carries and some of the 36% target share Jefferson is leaving behind. Tyler Algeier (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Washington In their victory over Houston, Allgeier tallied a season-high 17 carries but managed just 40 yards. Notably, he has received 15, 16, and 17 carries in the Falcons’ three wins this season, compared to only seven carries in both of their losses. Atlanta is a 2.5-point favorite at home against Washington this weekend. The Commanders have an average run defense DVOA, ranking 16th. Finally, our bottom line is that Algeier is the closer in this backfield. He is a low-end RB2 or flex in this matchup. Sit ‘Em Rachaad White (Tampa Bay Buccaneer) vs. Detroit White has one good game this season. And that was week 2 against the hapless Bears. He appears to be heavily dependent on favorable matchups. Also, facing the Lions, who have been tough against running backs, doesn’t bode well. The Lions have allowed just 49.6 rushing yards per game and have held running backs to 3.1 yards per carry. Bench White coming out of his bye week. Dameon Pierce (Houston Texans) vs. New Orleans Pierce is off to a slow start to the season, with the Texans losing games where he received limited carries and struggled with efficiency. While the Texans have been more competitive recently, they face the New Orleans Saints, who have the fourth-worst matchup for running backs and possess the fourth-highest team run-defense grade. Also, Pierce has caught only nine passes through five games. He isn’t doing enough as a receiver to justify a start against an elite run-stopping unit. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Josh Downs (Indianapolis Colts) at Jacksonville Downs delivered a 6-catch, 97-yard performance in the previous week, marking his second top-32 PPR WR finish in the last three weeks. His first top-32 finish occurred with QB Gardner Minshew, who will be returning as the starting quarterback after Anthony Richardson was sent to IR. However, Minshew is considered an upgrade over Richardson for Indianapolis’ pass-catchers. So far this season, Minshew has targeted Downs on 24% of his attempts. Downs offers WR2/3 upside in Week 6. Gabe Davis (Buffalo Bills) vs. New York Giants Davis has found the end zone and scored double-digit fantasy points in each of his last four games. He has averaged 17.2 fantasy points per game during this span. Also, on the season, he leads the Bills with five end-zone targets and averages 16.3 air yards per target. While his floor may not be the highest, Davis is currently playing at a high level and is the second option in one of the league’s better offenses. Moreover, this week, he faces the Giants, who have allowed six touchdowns to receivers and the 10th-highest fantasy points per game to the position. That makes Davis a high-upside option. Sit ‘Em Deebo Samuel (San Francisco 49ers) at Cleveland Deebo Samuel is no longer on the injury report. But he faces a formidable matchup against the Browns, who lead the league in adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Also, the Browns play a ton of man defense and Aiyuk is the receiver of choice

Now, let’s break down all the latest fantasy-relevant injury news in this week’s Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 6. We will continually update this list. Week 6 Byes: Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers Justin Jefferson (WR) Minnesota Vikings – The most devastating blow to come out of a terrible injury slate was the news that consensus 1.01 Justin Jefferson would be placed on IR with a hamstring injury. This is a devastating blow for the 1-4 Vikings as well as millions of fantasy rosters. Jefferson will miss a minimum of four games. The earliest JJ could return would be Week 10 versus New Orleans. However, Minnesota’s season appears to be a lost one. The Vikings don’t have a bye until Week 13. If Jefferson doesn’t progress through rehab, there may not be a ton of motivation to rush him back. K.J. Osborn should inherit Jefferson’s ‘X’ role, making him a top waiver wire priority. The #Vikings plan to place WR Justin Jefferson on injured reserve because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Kansas City, per sources. The exact timeline is TBD based on how he responds to treatment. But Jefferson is out at least four games. pic.twitter.com/hBAYZHZqlV — Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) October 10, 2023 De’Von Achane (RB) Miami Dolphins – Second in the NFL in rushing and third in fantasy scoring, rookie De’Von Achane will miss multiple weeks with a knee injury. At the time, the injury didn’t appear serious. However, the club has indicated Achane is a candidate for IR, which would keep him out a minimum of four games. Jeffery Wilson, who was just activated, is the best replacement target for Achane managers. UPDATE: Achane is on IR. Justin Jefferson to IR and De’Von Achane might be right behind him Worst Tuesday morning EVER — Ian Hartitz (@Ihartitz) October 10, 2023 Anthony Richardson (QB) Indianapolis Colts – A Grade 3 sprained AC joint will keep Richardson sidelined for a month. The rookie signal-caller banged his shoulder on the turf as he was tackled from behind. Richardson immediately motioned to his right (throwing) shoulder. Richardson previously missed half of Week 2 and all of Week 3 with a concussion. Gardner Minshew will start in his place for at least the next three games. James Conner (RB) Arizona Cardinals – Another season, another lengthy absence for stand-out RB James Conner. Conner injured his knee on a long run and will miss multiple weeks. Expect the Cardinals to employ a committee backfield. Emari Demercado is the best bet to target on the waiver wire. As for Conner, volume dictates that he is a strong hold or ‘buy low’ candidate. Update: Arizona placed Conner on IR. Subsequently, you can boost your Demercado bids. The #Cardinals are placing RB James Conner (knee) on injured reserve, per source. He’s out at least four games. pic.twitter.com/bsYY73JUkq — Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) October 10, 2023 Travis Kelce (TE) Kansas City Chiefs – The Chiefs are due to play Thursday, which gives Travis Kelce little time to heal his ankle. Kelce originally went down with no contact. However, he returned to the game and caught a touchdown. That quelled Achilles’ concerns. However, there have been no updates on the status of the ankle injury. However, Kelce practiced on Tuesday. That’s a good sign. Jahmyr Gibbs (RB) Detroit Lions – Gibbs was a surprise add to the injury list. He hurt his hamstring late last week and missed Detroit’s victory. And, Gibbs could miss 1-2 more weeks. Tee Higgins (WR) Cincinnati Bengals – A rib injury kept Higgins out last week. We will know more about his Week 6 availability as the week progresses. Javonte Williams (RB) Denver Broncos – Williams sat out Week 5 and was a limited participant in Monday’s practice. He was a game-time call last week. However, he was close to playing. Williams is set to return in Week 6. We’ll have more in Discord as the week progresses. Khalil Herbert (RB) Chicago Bears – First, the Bears lost Roschon Johnson to a concussion. Second, Khalil Herbert was felled by a high-ankle sprain. Herbert is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. However, Johnson must clear the league’s concussion protocol before he can practice. Finally, D’Onta Foreman should be added on waivers. Foreman hasn’t played since Week 1. However, he may be the only healthy back Chicago can play against Minnesota. Tank Dell (WR) Houston Texans – A concussion forced Dell to miss the second half of Houston’s last-second loss in Atlanta. Subsequently, Dell will have to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before he can return to action. John Metchie would see an increased role if Dell misses Sunday’s home tilt with New Orleans. Deshaun Watson (QB) Cleveland Browns – The Browns list Watson as day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Watson was a surprise scratch last week. If Watson misses Week 6, P.J. Walker will start on Sunday. However, it might be wise to simply avoid whoever is under center against the 49ers. Dalton Kincaid (TE) Buffalo Bills – Kincaid is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The Bills had an awful trip abroad, losing to the Jaguars and getting decimated by costly injuries. Furthermore, the Bills don’t play until Sunday Night Football, which complicates Kincaid’s fantasy availability. Aaron Jones (RB) Green Bay Packers – Jones sat out Monday’s loss with a bothersome hamstring. This came
