FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 5

FFWC XI

Week 5, of the 2023 Fulltime Fantasy Football season, is now complete. It started with a gravy train of fantasy points, posted during Thursday Night Football, and ended with a fantasy dud during Monday Night Football. Our FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 5 covers all the action. Here is a look at the Top 20 Leaderboards across the four Major FTF Tournaments. FFWC XI World Championship Tournament Following Week 5 action, the race to claim the $150K FFWC XI Grand Prize has tightened at the top. Heading into Week 6, the FTF World Championship Top 20 Leaderboard is populated by ten new teams. After there was just one last week, there are now four same-league battles within the Top 20 teams. Make it a 4-Peat for Just(in) Time as they continue as the FFWC XI overall leader for a fourth straight week. However, Simeon Yarbrough and Brian Marzorini slipped slightly, with 144.4 points, and their record fell to 4-1. The good news is they still lead their WC SLOW 4 league by 78.5 points. After sitting 302nd overall after Week 1, Mr Yellow Stickers (4-1) has been making a steady climb. Mike Schlissberg’s WC Circa Hybrid squad moved to 102nd after Week 2, then 12th, then ninth, and is now second overall. Sitting 64.20 points out of first place, heading into Week 5, Mr Yellow Stickers posted 189.20 points and is now just 21.30 off the pace. Moving up eleven spots, from 14th to third, Zefurs IV (5-0) is another steady riser. Up from 93rd, back in Week 2, KJ Duke’s WC 9/3 9 PM ET squad scored 199.35 points. That moved Zefurs IV from 76.5 to just 21.55 points out of first place. Zefurs IV has averaged 192.3 points, over the last three weeks. Climbing into the FFWC XI Top 20, for the first time this season, Chi-Town Bully 4 moved from 24th to fourth place overall. Racking up 185.2 points, Chris Lajawa’s squad moved from 95.3 to just 54.50 points out of the top spot. Chi-Town (5-0) is the last undefeated team in the FFWC 8/13 7 PM ET league. Rounding out the Top 5, Team Schinker jumped from 12th to fifth overall. Now averaging 170.15 points per week, Chris Schinker’s squad posted 164.20 points during Week 5. Hooked into the very competitive 8/18 WC GrindTime league, Team Schinker has a slim 14.0 lead over Coyotes Miscreants (3-2) who sit 13th on the overall Top 20 leaderboard. For the second straight week, our FFWC XI “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Coyote Miscreants (WC 8/9 9 PM ET) who piled up a Week 5 high 230.90 points. After racking up 233.35 points last week, that team now owns the top two weekly high scores. They have moved from 521st after Week 3, to 140th after Week 4, to 15th overall heading into Week 6. Down from 53 teams, at 4-0 after Week 4 action, 30 FFWC XI squads still own a perfect 5-0 record. Just six of those teams are in the current Top 20 overall. After 13 squads posted at least 200 points last week, that number jumped to 21 during Week 5. Ten of those totals are now on the Top 17 weekly high score list. Circa Las Vegas Fantasy Championship Week 5 action brought a boatload of changes to the inaugural FullTime Fantasy Circa LVFC Tournament. Four new teams occupy the top four overall positions, and nine new squads entered the Top 20 list.  For the fifth straight week, we have a new FTF Circa LVFC leader as Team LOB (5-0) moved from seventh to first overall. Mark Deming’s Circa LVFC 7/16 10:00 PM ET squad posted 203.85 points. While that’s an impressive total, it was just the 21st-highest Week 5 score. That team is now averaging 183.4 points per week and is the first Circe LVFC squad to eclipse 900 points. Moving up ten spots, Team 2 Bros DP jumped from 12th to second place overall. Robert Dinges’ Circa LVFC SLOW 5 squad posted 196.40 points. 2 Bros DP has made an impressive climb up the leaderboard as they were in 510th place after Week 1 action.  After beginning the year in 260th overall, then climbing to 29th place, Team Miller has now spent the last three weeks in the top six overall. Jason Miller’s squad posted 179.45 points and moved from sixth to third. Team Miller (5-0) is the last undefeated team and has a 128.0-point lead in the Circa LVFC 8/27 5 PM ET league. Another steady climber, after scoring 125.30 points and sitting 548th overall in Week 1, Team Leave It In (3-2) has jumped into fourth place. Michael Scherneck’s Circa LVFC 9/6 10 PM ET squad has been a model of consistency with 187.00, 182.85, 196.25, and 183.95 points posted over the last four weeks. Tumbling five spots, our Week 4 leader slipped from first to fifth overall. After posting 194.75 points last week, Team Taylor (3-2) dipped to 136.50 points during Week 5 action. Charlie Taylor’s squad still leads the Circa LVFC 6/16 10:30 PM ET league by 36.85 points. Our FTF Circa LVFC “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Team D in the Circa LVFC Beat Dr. Roto Act II league. Marcos Diaz’s squad racked up 257.05 points, which is the second-highest LVFC weekly score this season. Miss New Booty III still holds the top mark with 265.50 points scored back in Week 3. Making a huge leap, Team D moved from 219th to ninth place overall. Up just one, from 19 squads last week, 20 teams surpassed the 200-point plateau during Week 5 action. Four of those totals are now on the Top 12 weekly high score list. After 86 teams entered Week 4 with a perfect 4-0 record, just 40 of the 1,056 Circa LVFC teams are still undefeated. Dynasty World Championship Tournament With the ninth-place team as the lone exception, every position on the DFWC Top 20 Leaderboard changed following Week 5 action.

Week 5 DFS: Wide Receiver Report From 2020 to 2022, eight wide receivers averaged more than 20.00 fantasy points in PPR formats. Half of these outcomes came from Tyreek Hill (20.57 and 20.43) and Davante Adams (22.46 and 20.25). After

Week 5 DFS: Wide Receiver Report

From 2020 to 2022, eight wide receivers averaged more than 20.00 fantasy points in PPR formats. Half of these outcomes came from Tyreek Hill (20.57 and 20.43) and Davante Adams (22.46 and 20.25). After four weeks this season, eight wideouts stand tall in the land of elite outcomes compared to four running backs. The highest average for a tight end in 2023 is 14.08 fantasy by T.J. Hockenson.

In Week 4, A.J. Brown (38.50), Stefon Diggs (36.00), Nico Collins (35.80), and Puka Nacua (31.30) posted impact games, pushing the season total for wide receivers with more than 30.00 fantasy points to 12 (eight over the past two weeks). Five other wideouts scored between 20.00 and 30.00 fantasy points last week.

Here’s a look at the five scoring wide receivers heading into Week 5:

  • Justin Jefferson (104.30)
  • Keenan Allen (103.45)
  • Tyreek Hill (100.40)
  • Puka Nacua (95.50)
  • Stefon Diggs (94.90)

Here is the Week 5 DFS: Wide Receiver Report. Also, check out this week’s QB Report, RB Report, and TE Report.

Top Tier Options

Tyreek Hill, MIA (DK – $9,000/FD – $9,400)

Hill saw his three-game scoring streak end last week against Buffalo while seeing only five targets (3/72). In his two starts vs. division opponents, he had eight catches for 122 yards on 14 targets compared to two elite games (11/215/2 and 9/157/1) in his other two matchups. I mentioned in another Hill profile this year that he started 2022 with a rhythm of an elite outcome every other week over the first eight games (8/94, 11/190/2, 2/33, 10/160, 7/47, 12/177, 7/72, and 12/188), something that has repeated out of the gate this season.

The Giants rank better than expected vs. wide receivers (12th – 41/540/4 on 64 targets) over the first month of the season, considering they allow more than 30 points a game with 14 touchdowns. Deebo Samuel (6/129/1) is the only wideout to gain more than 100 yards receiving. Miami will look to take advantage of CB Adoree Jackson (16/236/1 on 24 targets – 14.8 yards per catch per PFF) in this matchup.

Hill brings the explosiveness to the table, and the success of Miami’s run game only helps with his spacing in the secondary. He should bounce back in this game, but follow-through in the second half could be an issue if New York doesn’t put up a fight on the scoreboard. It’s a winning matchup where at least one long touchdown should be expected…

Week 5 DFS: Running Back Report

Christian McCaffrey (48.70 fantasy points) was the best running back in the land in Week 4, thanks to 186 combined yards with four touchdowns and seven catches. David Montgomery climbed off the injury mat to post an exceptional day (32/121/3 with two catches for 20 yards). There was a tight battle between Josh Jacobs (27.90), Kyren Williams (27.70), and De’Von Achane (27.00) for the bronze medal for the week. Four other backs scored between 21.00 and 25.00 fantasy points in PPR formats, followed by 13 running backs with 10.00 to 20.00 fantasy points.

The Dolphins have two of the top four scoring backs, with both players (Raheem Mostert – 22.60 and De’Von Achane – 20.05) averaging more than 20.00 fantasy points. Here’s a look at the top five running backs after Week 4:

  • Christian McCaffrey (120.00)
  • Raheem Mostert (90.40)
  • Kyren Williams (81.60)
  • De’Von Achane (80.20 – 97.3% of his scoring came in his last two games).
  • Kenneth Walker (73.60)

Also, check out FullTime Fantasy‘s Week 5 DFS QB Report and TE Report.

Top Tier Options

Christian McCaffrey, SF (DK – $9,400/FD – $10,700)

I bumped up McCaffrey’s projections late last week after Elijah Mitchell was trending toward a scratch on Sunday. The added touches cleared the hurdle for a potential second score and more production in yards and catches. He finished with an impact day, one needed to win in the DFS market. His success raised his season average to 32.25 fantasy points in DraftKings scoring. The 49ers had him on the field for 85% of their plays, leading to a season-high in touches (27 – averaging 24.5 chances).

Dallas leads the NFL in fantasy running back defense (12.90 FPPG). Despite their success, the Cowboys allow 4.6 yards per rush (70/306/2 to running backs). They’ve faced four subpar offenses (NYG, NYJ, ARI, and NE) while playing from the lead in three matchups. Backs only have 15 catches for 65 yards on 21 targets. In 2022, Dallas had the second-best defense (18.08 FPPG) vs. running backs, with no team scoring more than 30.50 fantasy points in PPR leagues.

Mitchell didn’t practice this week, suggesting McCaffrey will be on the field for most snaps again in Week 5. He is an electric back who can score fantasy points in all facets of the game. His top-shelf salary and matchup invite lower ownership, along with…

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 5

Jets Rookie RB Breece Hall

Every team now has four games in the books. However, those pesky bye weeks have arrived. That means fantasy football managers will have to dig deep to compile a winning line. FullTime Fantasy‘s Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 5 will help you find those hidden gems to insert into your Week 5 lineups. Quarterbacks  Start ‘Em Josh Dobbs (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Cincinnati Dobbs has displayed impressive form over the last three weeks, averaging 24.6 points per game against the Giants, Cowboys, and 49ers. His upcoming matchup against a reeling Bengals team in Week 5 appears promising. The Bengals’ defense has been yielding an average of 19.4 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Dobbs has been showcasing his mobility with at least 41 rushing yards in each of his past three games, and he has yet to throw an interception. He has performed over expectations this season and is a sleeper start decision at home in week 5. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers) vs. Dallas  Purdy faces a challenging matchup against Dallas in Week 5, but I still have confidence in him as a lower-tier starter. He has managed to secure a minimum of 20.8 Fantasy points in three out of his four starts, with two consecutive games producing at least 23.3 points. It remains to be seen whether the Cowboys can effectively contain this 49ers offense. Dallas has previously encountered quarterbacks like Daniel Jones, Zach Wilson, Joshua Dobbs, and Mac Jones, but Purdy is poised to be their toughest opponent thus far. Additionally, he has demonstrated exceptional performance when playing at home, accumulating at least 20.0 fantasy points in all five games he has started in San Francisco during the regular season, dating back to the previous year, with an average of 23.8 points over this period. Sit ‘Em Russell Wilson (Denver Broncos) vs. New York Jets Wilson delivered a strong performance last week in a favorable matchup against the Bears. However, his fantasy performance this season has been inconsistent. Week 5 presents a formidable challenge as he faces the Jets, who have proven to be tough on quarterbacks. New York held Josh Allen to single-digit fantasy points in Week 1 and limited Patrick Mahomes to 13.2 points, his worst game of the season. The Jets’ ability to generate pressure without blitzing, combined with their strong secondary, makes this an awful matchup for Wilson. While he has been playing well, this week may not be the best time to start him. Running Backs Start ‘Em Breece Hall (New York Jets) at Denver Hall commanded 46 percent of the snaps in Week 4. Despite not having a standout day, he managed to turn the opportunities into 69 total yards and 9.9 fantasy points. While it may not have been a breakout performance, glimpses of his explosiveness were evident, again. Hall faces a very favorable matchup as the Broncos have allowed the most rushing yards to running backs this season, surpassing any other team by over 100 yards. Also, Denver has conceded the most rushing touchdowns and ranks in the top five for yards, touchdowns, and catches allowed to running backs. Every primary running back facing Denver this season has scored a minimum of 22 fantasy points, insane. While the Jets’ offensive limitations pose some risk, the potential for a high-scoring matchup justifies considering Hall as a top 10 Week 5 option. Jaleel McLaughlin (Denver Broncos) vs. New York Jets On the opposite sideline, Jalell McLaughlin has some potential. However,  keep an eye on the Javonte Williams injury reports. But he already sat out on Wednesday’s practice and was limited on Thursday. If Williams is sidelined, McLaughlin has the potential to become a valuable high-upside running back in all fantasy leagues. You probably blew your FAAB budget or top waiver priority to get him, might as well start him if it makes sense. In Week 4, he looked incredible with seven carries for 72 yards and three receptions for 32 yards, including a touchdown on three targets. Sean Payton has indicated that McLaughlin has earned more playing time in the upcoming games. While the situation may evolve if everyone is healthy, this could be a breakout opportunity for McLaughlin if he gets the start against the Jets in Week 5. Over the past three games, the Jets have allowed good performances, such as Tony Pollard exceeding 100 total yards with seven catches, gaining 158 total yards along with a touchdown. Additionally, Samaje Perine holds sleeper potential if Williams is sidelined, but McLaughlin appears to offer more upside in this matchup. Sit ‘Em Miles Sanders (Carolina Panthers) at Detroit Detroit boasts the league’s top-ranked rush defense, having allowed just 243 yards and 18 rush first downs. That is tied for the third-fewest in the league. Sanders has been averaging 17.25 touches per game but has only exceeded 9.8 fantasy points (Half PPR) once so far this season. Bottom line: Sanders hasn’t been good. If the Lions establish an early lead, Sanders’s usage may be limited. Also, he has been dealing with a groin injury. Rhamondre Stevenson (New England Patriots) vs. New Orleans Stevenson has struggled this season. He can barely even hold off dusty Ezekiel Elliot for the starting job. Stevenson’s yards per carry (YPC) has dropped to 2.62. Also, he has averaged just 6.5 receiving yards over the last two games, leaving fantasy managers frustrated. This week, New England faces a New Orleans Saints defense that has allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points to running backs. Also, the Saints have yet to allow any running back to score a touchdown in 2023.  Sit Stevenson this week if you have the option. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Garret Wilson (New York Jets) at Denver Zach Wilson displayed significant improvement in Week 4 against Kansas City. That resulted in Garret Wilson receiving 14 targets, nine catches, and 60 yards. Also, Wilson was close to securing a touchdown. Hopefully, the duo will connect for a touchdown in the upcoming game against the Broncos.

Week 5 NFL Player Props

Week 4 was an interesting one from a prop betting perspective. After starting the season 10-4, last week was the first time this season that we didn’t hit over 50% of our prop bets. Fortunately, since we tripled up on the Justin Fields over, our 3-4 Week 4 record doesn’t tell the full story; We actually profited cash for a third consecutive week. Just about a quarter of the way through the regular season, we are now 13-8 (+6.9 units).

After a surprising first few weeks to the season where studs weren’t performing and there were some unfamiliar names leading certain position groups, things are finally beginning to shake out as one would expect. Justin Herbert has been the top quarterback, Christian McCaffrey has been the top running back, Justin Jefferson has been the top wideout, and T.J. Hockenson has been the top tight end (Travis Kelce missed the season opener but is averaging more points per game than Hock). The cream always rises to the top.

Fantasy football owners definitely have an edge when it comes to prop betting because we are so in tune with individual player performances. As always, remember to odds shop at your different sportsbooks to find the best values for the prop bets listed below. Now, let’s get down to business and find the best Week 5 NFL Player Props and continue our trend of profitable NFL weekends.

Josh Allen OVER 258.5 Passing Yards (-115)

After a disappointing season-opening performance against the New York Jets in which Allen turned the ball over four times in an upset loss, Buffalo’s signal-caller has turned it around and has been the QB1 over the last three weeks. Over that span, Allen has racked up 812 passing yards (270.7 per game) while going 72-for-94 (76.6% completion percentage) and throwing eight touchdowns and one interception.

He has risen to the top of the MVP race in large part due to his dominant performance in the Bills’ Week 4 thrashing of the Miami Dolphins in which he tallied 320 passing yards and four touchdowns, while also running one into the end zone. Allen has eclipsed this line in two of his previous three outings and faces a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that ranks 22nd in pass defense.

Also, the Bills are averaging 6.1 yards per play this season, which bodes well for Allen in this London-based contest. Allen doesn’t have a particularly good history against the Jaguars. But one of his previous two games came against them back in 2018 when they had an elite defense. Back in 2021, he surpassed this line against Jacksonville. Look for Allen to continue his MVP campaign…

Week 5 DFS: Quarterback Report

Last week, four quarterbacks scored more than 30.00 fantasy points (Josh Allen – 39.70, Justin Fields – 33.25, Anthony Richardson – 32.60, and Lamar Jackson – 31.00). All four QBs have a running component to their skill set. Twelve quarterbacks posted more than 30.00 fantasy points in 2023, with Tua Tagovailoa (33.80 and 31.45) leading the way.

Over four weeks of action, here are the top five scoring quarterbacks this season:

  • Justin Herbert – 107.80
  • Josh Allen – 106.00
  • Kirk Cousins – 99.40
  • Tua Tagovailoa – 98.80
  • Lamar Jackson – 97.70

Let’s break down this week’s field in the FullTime Fantasy Week 5 DFS: Quarterback Report.

Top-Tier Options

Patrick Mahomes, KC (DK – $8,200/FD – $9,000)

Based on his high salary in the DFS market, Mahomes has yet to deliver a winning day over four weeks. He’s averaging two touchdowns, with his best outcome coming in Week 3 (300/3) against the Bears. Only one of his 92 completions gained at least 40 yards (13 in 2022), leading to a career-low 7.0 yards per pass attempt. His top receiver (Travis Kelce) has been limited to 9.1 yards per catch (12.2 in his career). Rashee Rice (13/140/1) is their leading wideout despite being on the field for 36.9% of the Chiefs’ plays.

Minnesota ranks 24th defending quarterbacks (22.36 FPPG), with one disaster showing vs. the Chargers (465/4). Their wide receivers finished with 32 catches for 415 yards and two touchdowns on 39 targets. The Eagles’ wideouts only had eight catches for 160 yards and one touchdown on 11 targets, but they gained 20 yards per catch.

The game total for this matchup is 52, the highest on the main slate on Sunday. Mahomes comes off a down game (203 passing yards with one score and two interceptions) while averaging 35.8 passes (38.1 in 2022 and 38.7 in 2021). His matchup bodes well for an uptick game, especially if Minnesota scores more than 25 points.

Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 5

Last week’s game offered a lot for fantasy football fans. And the Lions/Packers game mostly lived up to the hype. That won’t necessarily be the case in Week 4. The winless Chicago Bears travel to the nation’s capital to face the 2-2 Washington Commanders. FullTime Fantasy‘s Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 5 breaks down this week’s NFC slugfest.

The Bears finally showed some life last week. However, a defensive collapse in the second half led to another loss for Matt Eberflus’s club. Chicago is now one of only two winless clubs in the NFL.

Meanwhile, Ron Rivera’s Washington squad dropped their second consecutive game after opening the season 2-0. However, the Commanders had a good showing, losing 34-31 in Philadelphia.

This is a pivotal game for both teams. Eberflus is feeling the pressure to get a win. Also, the Commanders need to take advantage of an easy schedule to break a two-game losing streak and remain in playoff contention.

Washington opened as 4.5-point favorites before some early action dropped that to -3.5. The over/under rose to 44.5.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
Chicago Bears 21 21 13 16 22
Washington Commanders 20 20 17 22 17

The numbers show these teams are quite evenly matched. Their offenses rank back-to-back overall and are separated by just 5o yards. However, Washington has scored 20-plus points in three of four games and twice gone over 30.

Meanwhile, Chicago had three lackluster showings before finally showing some life against a hapless Denver defense on Sunday. For the Bears to have a shot, they’ll need some of Justin Fields’s Week 4 magic to carry over.

And it very well could. Both teams are bottom-10 in terms of allowing fantasy points to quarterbacks. That invites some solid fantasy, daily, and DFS scoring potential.

Chicago Offense

Justin Fields had the best passing day of his career last week. Fields posted a 132.7 QB Rating and threw for a career-high 335 yards and four TDs. Fields’s accuracy has improved in 2023 but his rushing production has plummeted. After averaging 76 rushing yards per game last year, Fields is down to 33.5 in 2023.

This week’s matchup appears fine for the passing game. Washington has surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing passers. Also, that includes 131 yards on the ground- third-most through four games.

After hearing that Roschon Johnson would get an opportunity to be Chicago’s RB1, Khalil Herbert played a season-high 77.8%…

He will undergo an MRI but the early diagnosis is it was a mild strain. With the Bucs having a Week 5 bye, the hope is that Evans won’t miss any time. Tee Higgins (WR) Cincinnati Bengals – Higgins fractured a rib in Cincinnati’s Week 4 loss to the Titans. A typical rib fracture can take 3-4 weeks to heal. However, Higgins indicated that he plans to play through the pain. With the Bengals looking at a Week 7 bye, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Higgins out until Week 8 in what is increasingly looking like a lost season. Of course, Higgins is set to hit the open market and could be motivated to push for an earlier return. UPDATE: Higgins has been ruled OUT this week. That puts Tyler Boyd in as a replacement. Cooper Kupp (WR) Los Angeles Rams – Kupp (hamstring) will practice this week. The Rams want Kupp to be close to 100%. However, there are doubts that he is there yet. We will know more by the end of the week. Consider him questionable. UPDATE: Kupp will play. Fire him up. Justin Herbert (QB) Los Angeles Chargers – Herbert fractured a finger and suffered a nail injury to his left (non-throwing) hand. Herbert re-entered the game with a splint and later had a glove on his left hand. The Chargers are off this week, which gives Herbert an extra week to heal. However, he shouldn’t miss any time. Javonte Williams (RB) Denver Broncos – Williams could miss a week or two with a hip flexor injury. Jaleel McLaughlin looked good in relief. Also, the club has Samaje Perine. Williams isn’t expected to miss more than a week, at most. UPDATE: Williams has practiced. However, Jaleel McLaughlin is expected to see an increased role. Williams is a risky start in a tough matchup. Kenny Pickett (QB) Pittsburgh Steelers – Pickett hurt his left knee in Houston and was unable to finish the game. It was diagnosed as a bone bruise. A report out of Pittsburgh indicated that Picket plans to practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign for his Week 5 availability. UPDATE: Pickett is good to go. Pat Freiermuth (TE) Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers will also be without one of Pickett’s top targets for multiple weeks. Friermuth suffered a hamstring injury in Houston and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Connor Heyward will see an increased role in Friermuth’s absence. Also, second-round rookie Darnell Washington played 43% of snaps in Week 4. However, Washington is employed as an in-line blocker and has one target all season. Donald Parham (TE) Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers are off in Week 5. That gives Parham extra time to heal his wrist. X-rays were negative, so Parham’s availability will have to be re-evaluated before the Chargers host the Cowboys. Saquon Barkley (RB) New York Giants – Barkley missed his second consecutive game Monday. There was optimism that he would suit up. But he was unable to face Seattle. We will update Barkley’s Week 5 availability in Discord. Jimmy Garoppolo (QB) Las Vegas Raiders – Garoppolo couldn’t clear the NFL’s concussion protocol for Week 4. However, he should do so this week. That would put Garoppolo in line to start on Monday. UPDATE: Garoppolo cleared the league’s protocol and will start Week 5. Elijah Mitchell (RB) San Francisco 49ers – Mitchell (knee) is OUT. Jordan Mason will serve as San Fran’s RB2. Josh Whyle (TE) Tennesse Titans – Whyle suffered an ankle injury in Week 4. However, Whyle won’t miss any time. Matthew Judon (LB) New England Patriots – A torn bicep will keep Judon sidelined for 2-3 months. New England also lost first-round CB Christian Gonzalez. The Patriots are already struggling to score points and now could have trouble stopping their opponents.   The 2023 NFL season is underway but it’s not too late to get access to the best help out there! Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 5

Injuries piled up in Week 4. Also, the dreaded bye weeks have arrived to complicate matters. A good rule of thumb is that we know who teams are after four games. That can help us make better Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 5 picks.

It’s not too late to turn around a slow start. However, time is running out. Let’s review FullTime Fantasy‘s top fantasy football waiver wire Week 5 options that can help you win this week and moving forward.

FAAB denotes Free Agent Acquisition Budget

Week 5 Byes: Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jameson Wiliams (WR) Detroit Lions (13% FAAB) – He’s Baa-aaack! The NFL reduced Williams’s suspension from six games to four. That puts the dynamic wideout in line to suit up this week against the Panthers. However, it’s unknown how ‘game-ready’ William is, or how many snaps he could play. However, Williams should emerge as Detroit’s No. 2 wideout, making him worth a solid waiver wire bid now. Teammate Jayden Reed (6%FAAB) has also locked up the slot role, making him worth a decent bid.

Romeo Doubs (WR) Green Bay Packers (10% FAAB) – The return of Christian Watson didn’t affect Doubs’s momentum. In fact, Doubs enters Week 5 as a top-20 fantasy wideout. Yet, he’s still available in a large percentage of fantasy leagues. Like I said in the intro, teams are who they are after four games. If that holds true, Jordan Love is a viable…
