FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 4

Week 4, of the 2023 Fulltime Fantasy Football season, is now complete. Scoring was down slightly from Week 3. Some early-season stars (Tagovailoa, Mostert, Hill, Hockenson) stumbled, while new stars (Fields, Montgomery, Collins, Kmet) lit up the FFWC High-Stakes Recap: Week 4 scoreboard. Here is a look at the Top 20 Leaderboards across the four Major FTF Tournaments. FFWC XI World Championship Tournament Hitting the 1/4 Mile Pole, in the race to the $150K Grand Prize, the FFWC XI World Championship Top 20 Leaderboard is populated by twelve new teams this week. Retaining first overall, for the third straight week, Team Just(in) Time (WC SLOW 4) continues as the FFWC XI overall leader. After averaging 198.45 points, through the first three weeks, Simeon Yarbrough and Brian Marzorini slipped slightly as they posted 166.25 points this week. Despite the stumble, Team Just(in) Time (4-0) increased their overall lead from 45.20 to 50.40 points. Moving up 21 spots, from 23rd to second overall, Fairways & Greens WC VII posted 202.00 points. A big week, from RB McCaffrey (48.7), WR Collins (35.8), and QB Richardson (33.6), helped move Curtis Hirsch to 4-0. Chasing the $10K Dominator prize, Curtis now has a 107.35-point lead and is the lone 4-0 squad in the FFWC Online 9/3 1 PM ET league Another FFWC XI squad making a big move, Team Mean Chaz Machine (4-0) jumped from 27th to third place overall. Charlemagne McHaffie and Greg Blaszczynski racked up 202.05 points and sit just 53.30 points out of first place. Continuing the changes, in the Overall Top 5, Team Foster 2 (3-1) moved from 31st to fourth overall. After slipping slightly, with 149.3 points last week, Gary Foster’s FFWC Online 8/28 9 PM ET, rebounded with 200.85 points during Week 4 action. Rounding out the Top 5, Team Meyer (4-0) slipped one position from fourth to fifth overall. After averaging 181.47 points through the first three weeks, William Meyer’s FFWC Online 9/9 1 PM ET team posted 154.0 points. Down from 89, in Week 3, 53 FFWC XI teams still own a perfect 4-0 record. Somewhat surprisingly, only nine of those teams are in the Top 20 overall. After 25 teams posted at least 200 points last week, that number dropped to 13 in Week 4. Our FFWC XI “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Coyote Miscreants who set a new single-week high score with 233.35 points. Mike Santos’ FFWC Online 8/6 9 PM ET squad moved from 521st to 140th overall. The third and fourth-highest single-week scores were also posted during Week 4. Biplab Mandal (Bipcoin – FFWC SLOW 2) piled up 228.70 points and jumped from 213th to 33rd overall. Ken Brzozowski (Bronko WC – FFWC SLOW 1) racked up 226.40 points and moved from 184th to 24th overall. Circa Las Vegas Fantasy Championship Separated by just 19.80 points, the Top 5 race remains close in the inaugural FullTime Fantasy Circa LVFC Tournament. Including five teams that were 52nd or lower on the leaderboard last week, nine new squads entered the Top 20 list. Following a relatively low-scoring week, by some of the previous top teams, the Top 50 gap fell from 95.05 to 75.85 points. That shows in the Week 4 totals as just six of the Top 20 teams posted over 190 points. For the fourth straight week, there is a new FTF Circa LVFC leader as Team Taylor (3-1) moved from 14th to first overall. Drafted back in June, Charlie Taylor’s Circa LVFC 6/16 10:30 PM ET squad posted 194.75 points. Team Taylor was 46th overall following Week 1 action. Continuing to climb, after sitting in 825th place following Week 1 action, Team Everything Must Go (3-1) moved from fifth place to second overall. Matthew Lyons’ Circa LVFC 8/4 11:45 PM ET squad had a down week, with 154.80 points, but still managed to move from 25.10 to 7.90 points off the overall lead. Moving up seven spots, Team Chills jumped from tenth to third overall. Curt Hills’ Circa LVFC 7/3 9 PM ET squad posted 167.15. Team Chills (4-0) is the lone undefeated team, and owns a 118.7-point lead, in the Patriot 3 league. Climbing from ninth to fourth overall, Team Meyer posted 162.50 points. That was good enough to move William Meyer to 4-0 and he has a 53.85-point lead in Circa LVFC 6/10 10 PM ET league. Tumbling five spots, our Week 3 leader slipped from first to fifth overall. Following a 248.60-point scoring outburst last week, Team Weber (3-1) dipped to 117.80 points in Week 4. It’s not all bad news for Mike Weber’s squad though, as he still has a 62.8-point lead in the Circa LVFC 8/20 9 PM ET league. Our FTF Circa LVFC “Shout Out of the Week” goes to Team UKnow in the Circa LVFC 9/1 10 PM ET league. Evan Simon’s squad posted the highest Week 4 total, 230.85 points, and moved from 265th to 30th overall. Down from 50 teams last week, just 19 squads surpassed the 200-point plateau during Week 4 action. After 154 teams entered the week with a perfect 3-0 record, just 86 of the 1,056 Circa LVFC teams are still undefeated. For the first time this season, 20 different owners, from 20 different leagues, have a spot on the Top 20 Leaderboard. Dynasty World Championship Tournament With our Week 4 top two leaders as the exceptions, every position on the DFWC Top 20 Leaderboard changed this week. That includes ten new teams moving into the Top 20 overall standings. The race at the top has tightened considerably as the Top 20 gap dropped from 106.95 points last week, to just 46.80 points heading into Week 5. After averaging 215.18 points per week, through the first three weeks, Team Mr. Two Thirty 33 stumbled last week. Steve Moreau’s squad posted 121.60 points during Week 4. Despite the dip, Steve’s team moved to 4-0 and has a 104.3-point lead in the DFWC 33 league. Retaining second place overall,

Week 4 DFS: Wide Receiver Report Keenan Allen (45.95) and Davante Adams (42.20) posted the two impact fantasy point games at wide receiver in Week 3. Adam Thielen (31.50) built on his success in Week 2 (20.40), while Tyreek Hill

Week 4 DFS: Tight End Report Heading into Week 4, there have been 25 touchdowns scored by tight ends. Donald Parham leads the way with three scores despite only having six catches for 32 on seven targets on the season.
Week 4 DFS: Running Back Report

Week 4 DFS: Running Back Report Last week we had some breakout performances. That included running backs, with five rushers eclipsing 20 points. A pair even topped 40. Oddly, they were on the same team. Our Week 4 DFS: Running
Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 4

We found some big names to target and fade last week. The results were mixed. However, more injuries mounted, so there are major question marks in Week 4. Our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 4 explores those players and others that should be avoided in the fourth week. Quarterbacks Start ‘Em Justin Fields (vs. Denver) Fields has stunk so far, posting an average of just 14.6 fantasy points per game. However, he was drafted as a top-six fantasy quarterback. And this week’s matchup offers a prime opportunity for him to revitalize his season. The Bears are presented with the sixth-most favorable matchup for quarterbacks this week. They are facing off against the Denver Broncos, who have surrendered the second-highest number of fantasy points to the position in 2023. Denver has employed man defense at the fifth-highest rate this season. Fields boasts a 7.1% big-time throw rate against man coverage and a 3.1% rate against zone coverage over the last two seasons. Moreover, he exhibits a greater tendency to scramble against man defenses compared to zone defenses, which should boost his fantasy output. Brock Purdy (vs. Arizona) In last week’s victory over the Giants on Thursday Night Football, Purdy threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns. This performance marked his seventh outing with multiple passing touchdowns. Also, Purdy is connected to a top-tier set of offensive weapons and operates within one of the league’s most prolific offensive systems. Although the Cardinals have been more competitive than anticipated, they still rank in the bottom 12 in terms of passing yards allowed. If you’re in need of a streaming option this week, Purdy certainly fits the bill. Sit ‘Em Deshaun Watson (vs. Baltimore) Watson has had a decent start to the season, finishing as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in two of his first three games. However, his performance has not yet reached the level he displayed in 2020. Watson is currently averaging 6.7 yards per attempt, an improvement from last season. However, it’s far from the 8.9 yards per attempt he achieved in 2020. This week, he faces the formidable Baltimore Ravens’ defense, which boasts an impressive team coverage grade of 85.9, ranking third in the league. Expect a close, low-scoring game. Cleveland will emphasize the running game. That makes Watson’s efficiency as a passer vital. Running Backs Start ‘Em D’Andre Swift (vs. Washington) Swift has proven to be a valuable addition to the Eagles’ offensive arsenal over the past two weeks. He has carried the ball 44 times for 305 yards and one touchdown. Philadelphia has already started to limit his carries, with Kenneth Gainwell taking the majority of snaps in the second and fourth quarters of Week 3. Nonetheless, Swift is expected to receive a consistent volume of touches to remain a fantasy starter. The Eagles’ offensive line enjoys a substantial advantage over the Washington Commanders’ defensive line. Washington has allowed opposing rushers to gain 4.8 yards per attempt this season. Swift should maintain his efficiency. Additionally, the Eagles are favored by over a touchdown, suggesting they will continue to run the ball throughout the game. Hopefully Swift can score from a distance. Because inside the 3-yard line belongs to Jalen Hurts Alvin Kamara (vs. Tampa Bay) Kamara is back in action after serving a three-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. His 2023 debut presents a challenging matchup against the Bucs. However, Tampa Bay recently allowed 130 rushing yards to D’Andre Swift. The Eagles racked up over 200 rushing yards against this defense. Also, Given the volume available in New Orleans with Jamaal Williams on injured reserve, Kamara is poised to become the centerpiece of the rushing attack. Furthermore, Kamara’s involvement in the passing game is a given. Subsequently, many fantasy managers will welcome Kamara back into their starting lineup. Sit ‘Em Brian Robinson (at Philadelphia) Robinson showcased his rushing prowess in Week 3, averaging an impressive 7.0 yards per carry. However, he was limited to just 10 carries as the Commanders fell behind early in the game against Buffalo. This week, Robinson faces a tough challenge against the Philadelphia Eagles, who have been staunch against the run. Philly has allowed only 121 total rushing yards to running backs through three weeks. That’s the second-lowest in the NFL. The Eagles surrender a mere 2.8 yards per carry and have yet to concede a rushing touchdown. Given the potential for this game to get out of hand, it’s advisable to explore alternative options. Also, Robinson won’t do much as a receiver. His opportunities could be limited in Week 4. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Adam Thielen (vs. Minnesota) Much to my delight, Thielen has emerged as a key component of the Panthers’ offensive scheme over the past two weeks. Thielen has amassed 18 receptions on 23 targets for 199 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers have an advantageous matchup for wide receivers this week. Carolina will face the Minnesota Vikings, who have yielded the third-highest number of fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Also, Thielen will primarily line up against Josh Metellus in the slot. Metellus allowed 10 catches for 62 yards last week. Finally, the Panthers are underdogs in this game. The target volume will be there in an exploitable matchup. Tank Dell (vs. Pittsburgh) Dell has emerged as the primary target for the Texans for two consecutive weeks. He received seven targets, securing five of them for 145 yards and a touchdown in their Week 3 upset win over the Jaguars. Also, Dell narrowly missed scoring a second touchdown. With 17 targets over the last two weeks, Dell’s production demands a starting spot on your roster as a WR3 or flex. Shockingly the Texans have gone pass-heavy, with over 120 passes thrown through three games. Additionally, the Steelers have conceded the fifth-most yards to receivers this season. Dell will continue to thrive in a positive game script. Sit ‘Em Zay Flowers (at Cleveland) Flowers has maintained a snap share of over 75% in each

Now, let’s break down all the latest fantasy-relevant injury news in this week’s Fantasy Football Injury Rundown. We will continually update this list. Fantasy Football Injury Rundown: Week 4 Mike Williams (WR) Los Angeles Chargers – The biggest injury to emerge from Week 3 was word that Williams tore his ACL. His 2023 campaign is over. This will mean a larger role for Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston. Also, Keenan Allen is the best bet to lead the league in targets. David Montgomery (RB) Detroit Lions – Good news out of Detroit. RB David Montgomery is trending toward being active on Thursday. Missing only one game would be great news for Montgomery. However, it would take some touches away from Jahmyr Gibbs. Dan Campbell said he’s feeling better about LT Taylor Decker and RB David Montgomery being able to play Thursday in Green Bay. — Tim Twentyman (@ttwentyman) September 26, 2023 Saquon Barkley (RB) New York Giants – Barkley practiced in a limited capacity Tuesday. It was announced last week that he was suffering from a high-ankle sprain. That’s concerning news. However, Barkley is a fast healer. Also, the Giants have an additional day since their Week 4 game is on Monday. Of course, this isn’t great news from a fantasy perspective as a late-game scratch would leave fantasy managers with no recourse. Unless it’s announced for certain, plan on finding another alternative to Barkley for at least one more week. Deebo Samuel (WR) San Francisco 49ers – Samuel is dealing with a rib injury. However, X-rays were negative. We should know more about his Week 4 status in the coming days and will update accordingly. For now, there isn’t a lot of concern. Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers – A hamstring injury has kept Watson out of Green Bay’s first three games. However, things are looking good for Week 4. The Packers plan on Thursday. And the early talk is that Watson will make his 2023 debut. Also, we will know well in advance if Watson will be active. I’ll have an update in the FullTime Fantasy Discord before kickoff. Patrick Mahomes (QB) Kansas City Chiefs – Superstar QB Pat Mahomes had his right ankle rolled up. Mahomes had a noticeable limp. However, he was able to finish the game without issue. We view this as a non-factor. Jaylen Waddle (WR) Miami Dolphins – Waddle missed Miami’s historic Week 3 win with a head injury. Waddle has not been cleared but the team remains optimistic that he will return before Sunday’s game in Buffalo. Aaron Jones (RB) Green Bay Packers – Green Bay is also expected to have Aaron Jones back in the lineup after a one-week absence. Jones tweaked his hamstring in Week 2 but was close to playing Sunday. Anthony Richardson (QB) Indianapolis Colts – Richardson remains in the league’s concussion protocol. Shane Steichen announced Richardson will resume the starting job once he is cleared. The Colts host the LA Rams on Sunday. Tee Higgins (WR) Cincinnati Bengals – Higgins had a rough night that culminated in him exiting in the third quarter with cramps. However, the injury isn’t a concern. He’ll look to get back on track this week against Tennessee’s 28th-ranked secondary. Derek Carr (QB) New Orleans Saints – Carr is week to week with a sprained AC joint. Expect Jameis Winston to start Week 4 against his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jimmy Garoppolo (QB) Las Vegas Raiders – Garoppolo entered the NFL’s concussion protocol following Las Vegas’ Week 3 loss. Boston Scott (RB) Philadephia Eagles – Philly’s No. 3 back missed Monday with a concussion. Scott will have to progress through the league’s protocol before he can return to action. Irv Smith (TE) Cincinnati Bengals – Smith missed Week 3 via the dreaded hamstring injury. We will have more updates in Discord as Week 4 progresses. River Cracraft (WR) Miami Dolphins – A shoulder injury will sideline Cracraft for multiple weeks. Quez Watkins (WR) Philadelphia Eagles – Watkins missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury. Olamide Zaccheaus filled in as WR3. Neither Philadelphia ancillary wideout is on the fantasy radar. Tylan Wallace (WR) Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens placed Wallace (hamstring) on IR. The earliest he can return is Week 8. The 2023 NFL season is underway but it’s not too late to get access to the best help out there!
