Glad to have a larger slate last night as we got to have bigger contests and I swept up the SE on DK once again, looking to do it again tonight with an even larger slate as more teams come off the all-star break/BYE week.
Teams on a B2B vs Teams on a BYE … A consistent theme this week (and for the past few years) has been that teams coming off the BYE tend to struggle when facing a team who has played more recently, here’s a couple of those scenarios tonight
- NY Islanders playing B2B tonight vs LA Kings playing first game in a while …. Isles should dominate here.
- Winnipeg didnt play last night but did play Thursday and they draw the Ducks at home tonight.
- Columbus also played Thursday and is home versus St. Louis coming off rest.
STACKS OF THE NIGHT
Vegas Golden Knights … William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, Nate Schmidt
The Golden Knights have four rock solid things going for them tonight and these are all my type of statistics/notes…. First off, this is another DiF spot as we have Defensemen in Florida, which paid quite well last night with Roman Josi and should do well tonight even with the options really being Nate Schmidt and Shea Theodore. Spoiler alert… Nate Schmidt light the lamp night for me… Second off, we have a little revenge spice here as we have Marchessault and Smith returning to Florida again a year and a half after being unprotected (Marchessault) and traded (Smith) in the expansion draft. Third, the Knights are gonna avoid any South Beach issues as they played last night and just flew in. And fourth, well, if there was any team who should not be bothered by south beach it has to be Vegas, no?
Oh, as for the actual match-up itself, the Panthers are really struggling vs centers and defensemen, so the Karlsson+Revenge Wings+Nate Schmidt stack is by far my favorite tonight.
Columbus Blue Jackets … Pierre-Luc Dubois, Artemi Panarin, Cam Atkinson

There are a couple things to monitor here with Columbus. First are the swirling trade rumors on Panarin, and second is that Cam was a late scratch the other night after getting struck in the face in warm-ups. I would suspect that he plays tonight, but I am writing this before they have any a.m. skate updates, so monitor the status there. We should know well before the game IMO. St. Louis comes in as a team who has been good at limiting opponents SOG when on the road this year, but facing the bread line in Columbus off a long rest is going to be disaster for the Blues tonight.
OTHER STACKS TO CONSIDER
New York Islanders … Mathew Barzal, Josh Bailey, Anthony Beauvillier
They’re going to destroy the Kings.
Tampa Bay Lightning … Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherova, Tyler Johnson – Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa should finally break through tonight against the Rangers. The Point-Kuch-Johnson line could easily break this slate and would be the one to pay for for me here tonight. I predicted a BS JT Miller goal on Friday and he likely gets that revenge on me and the Rangers here tonight as a nice value one off….
Minnesota Wild … Mikko Koivu, Jason Zucker, Mikael Granlund – Minnesota Wild
Despite winning last night the Blackhawks were still very forgiving defensively. They likely are going to be on the flip side of a similar type score tonight. Jason Zucker has had some big games given his cheap price so that’s where I am riding on this team today.
FAVORITE COMBOS
Use one offs from here as well, but I always try to go for combo’s as much as possible….)
Brian Little & Patrik Laine – WPG … The last time Patrik Laine scored a goal was January 13th and it was his only goal in January. The opponent just happened to be the lowly Anaheim Ducks in that game and Brian Little, his linemate was close a few times last game and is a mere 3900 tonight on DK. The Little (3900) and Laine (5900) train combination tonight really only needs one Goal+Assist to pay off, and we know Laine when he gets going can rack up more than one on his own. Scheifele-Wheeler-Connor is popular, but too expensive for my taste on an 11 game slate, so I’ll take the too cheap Little-Laine combo.
Andrei Barkov & Evgeni Dadanov – FLA
So Florida remains an enigma. We keep waiting for them to go on one of those 7 game win streaks that they are used to doing at this point in the season. I like the over in this game tonight for sure but am a little hesitant to go heavy against Marc Andre-Fleury.
Jonathan Toews & Patrick Kane – CHI
Patrick Kane has absolutely been on fire and is typically a thorn in the side of the Wild. Him being on the ice more with Toews doesn’t hurt either, imagine that….
Matt Duchene & Bobby Ryan – OTT
VALUE
Eric Staal & Jordan Greenway – MIN … Greenway remains my favorite value winger every slate.
Nick Bonino & Craig Smith – NSH
Adam Henrique & Rickard Rakell – ANA
DEFENSEMAN
Nate Schmidt – VGK
Ryan Suter – MIN
Brent Burns – SJS … He terrifies me tonight, I likely will have just Schmidt and Suter, but the late night hammer probably shows up vs Arizona.
Jacob Trouba – WPG
PK Subban – NSH … Mr. Saturday Night
Zach Werenski – CLB … Jones is OK too but 1700 price difference hard to pass up
Mike Green – DET
GOALIES
Robin Lehner – New York Islanders … Last night we saw Thomas “Du Hast” Greiss shut down the Lightning and I kinda hope he starts again, but it’s likely Robin Lehner back in goal on the B2B. He draws the lucky advantage of getting an easy win here against he Kings.
Others ….
Semyon Varlamov – Colorado
Martin Jones – San Jose … Confirmed and likely a chalk play
Garret Sparks – Leafs
