- J.A. Happ … Happ will be the most popular choice tonight because he’s a heavy favorite against a team with good strikeout matchups. I don’t expect Texas to continue tearing things up today and Happ’s little illness isn’t something to drive me off him. That said, Paxton has what I would call a higher “ceiling” today and is at lower ownership making him the play I am leaning …
- James Paxton … As mentioned above, this is where I am leaning to be a little different today off the Happ chalk. The Astros are really banged up and I think he gets more run support today as the Mariners bats are coming in sneaky against JV.
SP2 Considerations
- Andrew Suarez … You can make a legit strong argument to gamestack this game with both pitchers. They should both pitch 6 innings of fairly clean baseball and are dirt cheap on DK today. I like them identically the same, so this is 1a and 1b. But forced to pick one I go with Suarez given that he is at home.
- Ivan Nova … See above, Suarez is the pick by a hair.

STACKS
It’s important to note that this is a combination of favorite individual plays along with teams that I think could hav huge innings and lead to multiple rounds of production. Rather than just listing out a team who will go off and leave you guessing on where to get the production from.
- Yankees … Ariel is someone I actually watched in both his starts this year and I can tell you that the results are going to turn poorly. The Yankees are never a favorite team for me to use but today is a good spot to jump on them starting with Gleyber Torres, Aaron Hicks and Greg Bird.
- Rays … Tampa draws David Hess tonight who is the lowest ranked SP for me today, granted Tampa is also a pretty low offense but they’re going to be a popular ‘value’ team today and are in a great spot to consider. Bauers and Cron have good power vs RHP and guys like Mallex and Kiermeier should be able to run on the Orioles.
- Jays … Porcello coming off a masterful game last week is going to get shlacked by Smoak tonight…. Yes, that’s an official definintion. Smoak-Teoscar-Diaz
