KBO Dongers Club – Sat May 23rd

We are rolling. I’m telling you folks the process is gaining steam and the results are coming. We went from a pitcher not starting to a pitcher facing one batter and getting him out. I call that some progress right
KBO Dongers Club – Friday, May 22nd

Happy Friday, or soon to be Friday somewhere. Actually, in KBO world it is Friday already and hopefully if you are one of those brave souls who wakes up early for the games tomorrow you’ll confirm your starting lineups ahead of the games. The actual hitters didn’t bother me so much as pitchers changing — but it was a slate that was fairly predictable going in as far as pitching was concerned so that was good. You know you want to go heavy this weekend as it’s technically a holiday weekend and what’s better than Holiday Baseball DFS. So go big or go home. Let’s have a great KBO weekend as new series begin and I’m getting to this article a little late otherwise it would have been GIFtastic, but there’s always tomorrow for that…. Or maybe I’ll work some in today as well. WEATHER It’s fine, a couple games have light rain concerns but should play. PITCHING Back to the American’s tonight and it’s Blake Lively night (ok, Ben Lively), as he is back on the hill. Other known names tonight include Warwick Saupold Casey Kelly, Jake Brigham and Odrisamer Desp… Despaigna… Despaig… Despahhh-not-gonna-work here anymore… My Rankings This is a wonderful pitching slate but not in terms of how well they’re gonna do. Lots of games are in hitters parks so there’s no clear path tonight to your 1&2 arms. Naturally we are seeing the heavy favorites eat up the chalk and I don’t wanna double down on that when we have so much volatility likely out there again. I expect the bats to heat up this weekend. Hyun Jong Yang (Kia Tigers – $9000) … The southpaw should be a little too chalky tonight but he has over 20% strikeout rate and faces a team who also has a 20% strikeout rate. Despite being on the road he should get enough strikeouts tonight to give good value — but I expect some homers in this game on both sides. He has given up 3 already this year and it’s a good homer park. Expect him to be chalky and given how much I fear the other pitchers today I say we eat him on DK as one of the two — but you can avoid it on FanDuel. Ben Lively (Samsung Lions – $7300) … I’ve made fun of him in the past, but now settling into his third start of the season Lively should closer resemble the 2019 KBO version which had a 1.12 WHIP through 9 starts and only allowed 4 HR while striking out 58 over 57 innings. Lively is a heavy underdog but to me he gets his first win tonight. TEAM STACKS Highest implied totals … In other words the fucking chalk for the lazy DFS players … Kia Tigers, Doosan Bears, NC Dinos TOP TEAM Kiwoom Heroes The fucking Heroes, that’s all I’ll say. They never seem to be right but tonight they’re facing arguably the worst SP on the slate in Kyung Eun Noh. Well, let me tell you, I Noh this guy is giving up 2 homers tonight, including a #CatcherFriday 2-run shot to Dong Won Park in the first inning. Given their run total and cheap prices, the Heroes cannot be faded tonight. ByungHo Park (1B) Dong Won Park (C) Keon Chang Seo (2B) 2% OWNED WINNING STACK Hanwha Eagles – Fly. Eagles. Fly. Great hitters park and Young Gyu Kim has been too ‘decent’ to start this season. Lefties all over the board today which will scare people away from the Eagles against a LHP on the mound, but this guy gives up homers like his name is Homer Bailey. Don’t shy away from the lefties, including Jared Hoying. Jin Ho Jung (OF) Eun Won Jung (3B) — Because 3B Always Sucks Jared Hoying (OF) Other Exposure From: Twins POSITIONAL BREAKDOWN CATCHER Dong Won Park FIRST BASE ByungHo Park – KIW Roberto Ramos – LG – Blah Blah, too fucking cheap still SECOND BASE Keon Chang Seo – KIW … If he leads off as expected he’s the #1 play on the slate. Suck it Joo Hwan Choi – DOO THIRD BASE Joo Hyung Kim – KIW Won Seok Lee – SAM Guess who I am not playing: Jeong Choi … What a fucking waste of space this guy is. Seriously, is he the Asian version of Matt Adams or what? This guy has hit 1 HR on the season, it was opening Day and he was supposed to be the best 3B in the fucking league. What a sham. Get this guy off my player pool, he sucks. KBO Dongers Club – Thu May 21st

We go full Asian on this slate with 10 Asian born pitchers going, so the names get a little extra confusing but if you have been riding the KBO train then you know which teams are good and which ones are bad by now. WEATHER No Issues PITCHING Did I call it or what? We had a pretty solid depth of pitching choices last night even though it didn’t look so great going into the slate. That coming after Tuesday when it was the opposite. Tonight feels like a night where everyone is gonna end up in that 12-18 DK fantasy points range as there’s no dominant SO pitchers going today in my mind. In fact, there’s NOBODY I love tonight. So let’s go a little contrarian, shall we? Seung Won Moon (SK – $8800) … Let’s break this down in simple DFS strategy terms. His team has won only two games on the entire season, including last night on the road at the Heroes. Logic says no way the Heroes lose again tonight to the poor SK Wyverns at home. Heck, Vegas has the Heroes as the largest favorite on the entire slate!! So naturally, the whole world should be on the other side in this game but Seung Won Moon is easily the better pitcher on the mound and at his $8800 price likely comes in under 10%. Love him tonight on a slate where no other pitchers should hurt us. Take the chance. Hyeong Jo So (KTW – $7500) … Biggest concern I have is that he’s definitely not going 100+ pitches tonight, but should get through five and the Eagles have ZERO power as we have learned this year. TEAM STACKS Dinos vs Bears The premiere game of the night and it features two pitchers that don’t leap out to me but I don’t think anyone attacks either of them. Really like using this as a game stack focus game tonight and I am leaning on the NC Dinos side Kia Tigers Back on the Preston Tucker Train tonight POSITIONAL PLAYS CATCHER Eui Ji Jang (NCD) … Hard to play the Dinos without him FIRST BASE Roberto Ramos (LG) … Remains criminally underpriced, probably 70% owned one of these days Hyung Woo Choi (KIA) Jose Fernandez (DOO) SECOND BASE Min Woo Park (NCD) Joo Hwan Choi (DOO) THIRD BASE Jeong Choi (SK) Suk Min Park (NCD) — Day to Day Joo Hyung Kim (KIW) SHORTSTOP Ha Seong Kim (KIW) Sun Bin Kim (KIA) OUTFIELD – Tier 1 Preston Tucker (KIA) Hyun Soo Kim (LG) Sung Bum Na (NCD) OUTFIELD – Value Won Jae Lee (NCD) Eun Sung Chae (LG) Ji Wan Na (KIA) DONGERS CLUB CHAIRMAN: Jeong Choi (SK)
KBO Dongers Club – Wed May 20th

Wednesday, May 20th – Korean Baseball DFS I have continued to make daily enhancements and add-on’s to my KBO Model/Dashboard which I have shared publicly. It’s nothing too fancy but I think it’s more than you’ll find anywhere else right now in terms of getting daily DFS information for the KBO slates from a data/analytics view. There’s still some manual effort involved with it, and thanks to FantasyBum to help scraping some of the data to make it happen — but the process to update it daily is getting lower which makes for more time to add on enhancements. Today’s enhancement is adding a CHALK DASHBOARD view. The intention here is simply to highlight what you probably already know, and that is the chalk is based on the Vegas totals and then taking the top projected players from those teams. Not a blazing new concept in DFS terms, but obviously for KBO with a limited amount of teams it’s hard to avoid the chalk teams based upon what the over/unders and spreads are. None the less, I’ve created a view that shows my ratings along sorted by position/team and the run total for each team. If you so dare, you can view it. http://www.dailyambush.com/kbo-dfs-dashboard/ WEATHER All clear PITCHING Yesterday looked like a good pitching slate and wound up garbage. Today looks meh and so it’ll probably end up fantastic. Seung Ho Lee (Kiwoom – $8100) … Lefty arm at home as a huge favorite vs a Wyverns team who doesn’t have a ton of RH bats to do damage (just Jamie Romak). He has decent strike-out rates and the Wyverns all strike-out a ton as well. Locked in as my top SP today and probably will be 60% for good reason. Tyler Wilson (LG – $7500) … Man the Twins went off on the Lions last night with a 10 spot in the first inning. If they can get 3-5 runs tonight that should be enough for Philip Tyler Wilson, now in his third season in the KBO don’t let this seasons bad first start fool you. He’s one of the better strikeout pitchers we’ll get normally and Samsung isn’t exactly an elite offense. Contrarian Arms Jong Hoon Park (SK – $7900) … Given his price and the fact that SK is 1-11 and facing the chalk arm in Seung Ho Lee, I would suspect that Jong Hoon Park is near 10% TOPS on this slate. Instead of going what I think is crazy with a stack against Kiwoom, I’ll ride a SP stack in the domed environment that to me doesn’t look like a great hitters park (despite the big score last night). MLB theory applies here — way over game last night = way under game tonight. Cheung Ho Choi (SAM – $7700) … Similar logic with Park above, he is a pivot off Wilson. STACKS Doosan Bears: They end the Dino’s hot streak tonight Kiwoom Heroes: Tonights likely chalk KT Wiz: Not much here that my model likes tonight but Kang, Rojas and Hwang all had big games yesterday and should be highly owned today despite some high prices on them. DONGERS CLUB CHAIRMAN: Jae Gyun Hwang – 3B
KBO Dongers Club – Tue May 19th

I am kind of digging this concept of play six straight days and then have a day off in the KBO. If they have a rain out over the weekend then they will make it up on Monday’s. I know MLB has floated this idea in the past and at first I hated it — but in terms of not worrying a bout waking up at 5:30 or staying up till 1am, it’s nice. This concludes my random thought for the day, thanks for coming. Oh, the games! New series beginning this week Eagles at Wiz Twins at Lions Giants at Tigers Dinos at Bears — What have been two of the best teams in the league, should be a good series Wyverns at Heroes — Wyverns are 1-10. They’re uh. Due? PITCHING Won Tae Choi (Kiwoom Heroes, RHP – $9500) Choi enters this game 0-1 on the year through his first two starts but hasn’t pitched poorly by any stretch. He’s allowed only 3 extra base hits through 12 1/3 IP while striking out 10 to only 2 walks. Now in his sixth year in the league he has continued to improve every season as a starter and has a 16.7% strikeout rate average over the past three seasons. After going 5 IP in his first start, he went 7 1/3 versus the Samsung Lions at home in his last start striking out 6 on just 89 pitches. Samsung isn’t exactly an elite offense but they have to be considered elite compared to the Wyverns who he faces today as they come in dead last in runs scored at 34 and this stadium has has a negative impact on Home Runs historically. Everything aligns well for Choi here, which is why he is a heavy favorite, should be highly owned and even at $9500 is at the top of my model today. William Cuevas (KT Wiz, RHP – $7500) I was bummed that the early line on this game was so heavy on the Wiz, because that means folks not looking into anything will auto play Cuevas as a heavy heavy home favorite. But it’s a great spot for him. Cuevas is his second season now in the KBO will be below a K per IP normally but he’s facing one of the higher strikeout rate teams on the slate and they have NO power with just a projected ISO of 0.088. They let him throw 105 pitches last start, so if he gets through 6 + innings today he can deliver a pretty good stat line for us in a winnable spot. FanDuel Pitching In addition to the players mentioned above, David Buchanan (Samsung) is a nice value on FanDuel TEAM STACKS NC Dinos vs Doosan Bears The NC Dinos are off to a hot 10-1 start this season, but they’ve also faced the Wyverns, Lions and Wiz and two of those are horrific teams so far. Chicken and egg scenario? Who knows, but either way this is a tougher spot for them to beat out the mighty defending champion Bears. Either way, good game for offense in my mind. NC faces the weaker pitcher, so they draw a slight “data” advantage today: Min Woo Park (2B) Aaron Altherr (OF) Sung Bum Na (OF) Eui Ji Yang (C) … Catcher Monday’s in MLB = Catcher Tuesday’s in KBO. Doosan on the other hand faces the “mighty” Mike Wright — who will be a nice mid range popular pick today but not for me. Gimme the Bears Kun Woo Park (OF) Jose Miguel Fernandez (1B/2B) Jae Il Oh (1B) Jae Hwan Kim (1B/OF) Joo Hwan Choi (1B/2B) — Great Value Lotte Giants vs Kia Tigers This game carries a hefty 10.5 total, so you know it’s chalky and the good reason why should be the power bats in this game. Min Woo Lee gives up lots of HR and the Giants should benefit today, but my lineups today will start with the MVP of the KBO thus far Preston Tucker and Ji Wan Na (who is right behind Tucker with 3 doubles and 2 HR to star tthe season and by right behind, I mean half way behind him). I would definitely get exposure on this game, just not a full stack either side. Giants: Ah Seop Son (OF) Jun Woo Jeon (OF) Dixon Machado (SS) Tigers: Preston Tucker (OF) Ji Wan Na (OF) Hyung Woo Choi (1B) .. He is $6300, it’s way too much for me with so many 1B from the Bears that I like but if you wanna stack the Tigers, then fine, add him in too. POSITIONAL PICKS CATCHER Eui Ji Yang (NCD) … Usually not a fan of paying up for catchers but this is definitely a day to do it with Yang. Yong Hwan Baek (KIA) FIRST BASE Dae Ho Lee (LOT) Jae Il Oh (DOO) Baek Ho Kang (KTW) SECOND BASE Min Woo Park (NCD) Jose Fernandez (DOO) Chi Hong An (LOT) THIRD BASE Won Seok Lee (SAM) … Playing well of late and hitting cleanup for a team that will have almost no ownership despite being at home. KBO Dongers Club – May 17th

As I was out doing some errands today I had this nagging feeling that I had to get my article in before the Saturday evening 7PM Slate. Obviously, I then realized oh wait, I don’t have to do that and then I started to get sad about no Sunday Dongers Club either, because I would really enjoy some Sunday MLB action right now. I guess one could stay up all night and watch KBO for Sunday Baseball, because we have 5 games as usual for the KBO and a decent recent string of DFS action related to it for us to feel confident going into this Sunday slate. One word of caution is to be aware of anyone “Resting” on the Sunday slate — so maybe try to stay up as late as you can for tonight’s games — all of which begin at 1:00 AM EST. WEATHER All games are clear of rain and four of the games will feature temps in the upper 70’s (only the Dinos-Wyverns game is not). I expect we see a high scoring slate of action. PITCHING Drew Rucinski – NC Dinos ($9200 vs SK) If he were 10,000 on this slate then it would be more appropriate. Everything is positive in his favor today and thus we’ll see him carry a ton of ownership even as the highest priced arm on the slate. The opponent is bad (SK Wyverns are 1-9, compared to the Dinos being 9-1), he is a huge -215 road favorite pitching in a below avg hitters park. Then we breakdown the metrics for him versus the actual lineup he will face and there isn’t much to be scared of outside of Jeong Choi and Jamie Romak. The only logic in not going with Rucinski today with his high K% against that bad lineup would be if you roll out Choi and Romak as contrarian 3-4 hitters against him — both of whom have some power but also carry high K%. Odrisamer Despaigne – KT Wiz ($8500 vs SAM) Despaigne has been exactly as I figured he would be thus far. With 14 strikeouts through 11 innings he’s looking good but he’s also had to throw 200 pitches across those two starts to get there. That’s what he’ll likely continue to be but Samsung isn’t very deep and so I like Despaigne to rack up the strikeouts at the bottom of this order & at home he’s my favorite SP today (even more than Rucinski). Sunday Longshot: Seung Heon Lee ($4000) … Not just because he is min priced — that is justified as this will be his first action of 2020, and he didn’t do much of anything in 2019. A young pitcher who appears to have some good velocity though against a team with zero dangerous batters (Hanwha Eagles) in their lineup right now is tempting. If he only pitches 3 innings don’t be shocked, but the min priced arm has some tempting value today to keep an eye on. I wouldn’t play 100% of him or on your main lineup. But for a 3 lineup player, he’s in the mix. TOP STACKS LOTTE Giants Min Woo Kim carries a heavy WHIP … No, not that kind of WHIP…. NO. STOP! NOT THAT KIND OF … SON OF A … I REFUSE TO BREAK OUT THE WHIT MERRIFIELD SUNDAY NARRATIVE ON A KOREAN BASEBALL PLAYER ah, son of a bitch…. Let’s WHIP up the Giants 1-5 stack today fellas… Byung Hun Min (OF) Joon Woo Jeon (OF) Ah Seop SONday’s…. (OF) Dae-Ho Lee (1B) Chi Hong An (2B) DOOSAN BEARS They finally cooled off last night and today they get Aaron Brooks during a 1PM home game. I have plenty experience with Aaron Brooks random home 1PM Sunday games. Don’t go there… Right back on the Bears in what should be a great spot for Jim Miller and Marty Booker…. oh wait, wrong Bears… Jose Miguel Fernandez (2B) Jae Il Oh (1B) Jae Hwan Kim (OF) I feel those three are the CORE of your lineup with the Bears, so plug them into those positions then mix and match elsewhere and consider Se Hyuk Park (C) who should be in today hopefully. KIWOOM HEROES I was gonna go back to the LG Twins well and if you want a 5 man stack then sure go with the Twins, but this is your chalk/single entry combination to not ignore today ByungHo Park (1B) and Ha Seong Kim (SS) both have great power and should feast in the same game against the Twins in a great hitters park. Plus there’s that weird ByungHo Park – Twins on a Sunday narrative…. POSITIONAL RANKINGS CATCHER Se Hyuk Park – DOO Kang Nam Yoo – LG FIRST BASE – Deep! Dae Ho Lee – LOT ByungHo Park – KIW Joo Hwan Choi – DOO Roberto Ramos – LG SECOND BASE Chi Hong An – LOT … This is where I put my model to the test. Chi Hong An is about $3k cheaper than Dixon Machado today, likely bats in front of him and I have him ranked higher. Hello Whit Hong An Now, mind you…. This is how dangerous my mind is. I didn’t pull the day of week splits — I SWEAR — before going to dig into Chi Hong An (or Ahn) more, and well. What do you know. This fucker was a .268 hitter for the entire 2019 season last year — but on Sundays? — ah, on Sunday’s the guy was .417 hitter over 17 games with only ONE, yes ONE strikeout in 60 at bats. Guy see’s the ball well in the afternoons and with that awesome backdrop of Dixon Machado behind him he’ll WHIP it up good. THIRD BASE This position sucks, which makes Jeong Choi very tempting Jeong Choi – SK … vs chalk Rucinski Jae Gyun Hwang – KTW Kyoung Min Hur – DOO SHORTSTOP Ha Seong Kim

Feels very weird doing a Friday DFS article for a Saturday slate. Technically it will be Friday still anywhere west of El Paso, Texas — which by my accounts is about as far west in the Central time zone in America as you can go. Speaking of El Paso, Texas — I had to figure out who was relevant from El Paso Texas for this article. And the answer is… Well, nobody! But it is the home of former Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Nolan Richardson, the famed coach of the “40 minutes of hell” style of play he ran while there. A good coach and he coached some good teams including the 1994 championship team with Corliss Williamson on it. As far as El Paso, TX…. El Paso is a border town, sitting in the westernmost point of West Texas and straddles the Rio Grande on the U.S.-Mexico border. … Today, El Paso is known for its large military presence that is anchored by Fort Bliss, but on the flip side has an up and coming culinary scene. I know what you are thinking right now on a Friday night in May as you prepare to read an article on Korean Baseball and instead are getting an education about El Paso, Texas… WEATHER Well … Yesterday sucked. Can’t be any worse today right? All games will play PITCHING Solid first trial run using the new model to help with pitching, lets double down tonight! 1 – Kyung Eun Noh ($770 vs Hanwha Eagles) The Eagles lose Jared Hoying — their best hitter — to injury and have a lack of power in this lineup along with good strikeout upside. KEN is my top SP today. SP2 / GAME STACK OPTIONS 2 – Tae Hoon Kim ($7,200 vs NC Dinos) Has a crazy high K% historically because he is a bullpen arm but got stretched out to 6 innings vs the Giants in a 4-0 Loss where he only yielded 2 Runs and struck out 3 batters. NC has a couple swing and miss guys at the top of the order in Aaron Altherr and Sung Bum Na and I project this to be a pitchers park. 3 – Young Gyu Kim ($6200 vs SK Wyverns) Just call this the pitching game stack of the min priced Kim’s. Cheap Kim’s. …. ok, get your mind out of the gutter now. Everyone in the SK lineup has strike-out upside for Young Gyu Kim tonight — and with a 19% K rate over the last few seasons combined this other reliever should hit that min value target. TOP STACKS There is a game tonight with an Over/Under at 11.5 compared to the next highest which is 9.5. Anyone wanna guess who everyone is gonna be telling you to play after their endless amounts of KBO research? And by research I mean — ah, fuck it. I won’t go there right now Anyways. Why are they so popular? Oh, they being the KT Wiz and the Samsung Lions – and after a slow start to the season the Lions have turned it around and are now 4-6 which is far better than the KT Wiz 2-7 start. Min Kim gave up 2 HR in his first start of the season against the always popular Doosan Bears. I like him to bounce back tonight at home and the KT Wiz offense is just middle of the road and that’s not enough for me to roll with 40-50% chalk on them. Given those reasons and the fact that this is also a 4:00 AM start and … well, I wont be awake — hard pass. LG Twins Right after getting rained out I will go RIGHT back to the LG Twins tonight against Jake Brigham — who through two starts in KBO hasn’t been lights out with only going a combined 7 1/3 IP in the two games. His leash should remain shorter and the Twins offense is my focus in this game tonight. Chun Woong Lee (OF) Keun Woo Jeong (2B) Hyun Soo Kim (OF) Roberto Ramos (1B) … Let’s try this again? DOOSAN Bears Every night the Bears have turned into the DFS world’s top play, but with that 11.5 total tonight we can get the most popular stack tonight at lower ownership and opposing SP Hyun Jong Yang was horrific in his first home start of the season against Kiwoom giving up no homers but only facing 15 batters in that game…. Christ, what logic do you want here? Just play … Kun Woo Park (OF) Kyoung Min Hur (3B) Jose Miguel Fernandez (1B/2B) Kiwoom Tigers They are popping up at the top in the model positionally and I can’t say that I hate it. Our KBO Dashboard is up and running and yes it has some data errors and features/improvements that you can expect to be worked on through the weekend. But ultimately the idea is to give everyone a simple place to look for this sport that is carrying us until July when MLB should return. http://www.dailyambush.com/kbo-dfs-dashboard/ GAMES New series begin on Friday morning and a couple games have some Weather to monitor. Giants @ Eagles – Worst of the weather games and probably not the best today for offense. Only play here is contrarian to use SP’s. Bears @ Tigers Lions @ Wiz PITCHING Seung Won Moon – $8700 – SK Wyverns Hui Kwan Yu – $9200 – Doosan Bears STACKS Hereoes at Twins I am a very big fan of this ballpark and the Twins in general are a popular team to look at when they’re at home as they are against the Heroes tonight and through the weekend. KBO DFS – Tuesday, May 12th

New series begin today Top games for offense: Doosan Bears at Lotte Giants O/U is 10, so expect some chalk here. Good ballpark historically for offense Giants lead the league in home runs with 9 so far and have scored 36 runs in 5 games. Bears not too far behind with 32 runs through 5 games. KT Wiz at NC Dinos KT Wiz carry the highest ISO in the league at 0.222 as a team Both teams slugging near .500 on the season Both Pitchers (Despaigne, Rucinski) are ‘known’ quantities, likely chalky options today. Good second tier leverage game. Other Games: Kia Tigers at Hanwha Eagles SK Wyverns at LG Twins Samsung Lions at Kiwoom Heroes PITCHING RECOMMENDATIONS Eric Jokish ($8700 – Kiwoom Heroes) Heavy home favorite today against the paltry Samsung Lions. Woo-Chan Cha ($7700 – LG Twins) Lefty arm who should avoid the long ball today and still get some decent strike-out upside vs the Wyverns. Cha is at home in a nice pitchers park and SK has a relatively decent K% for opposing P’s thus far. Aaron Brooks ($7500 – Kia Tigers) Had a pretty good start by his standards last week, walking no batters and striking out 5 over 5 2/3 IP against Kiwoom. Today he faces the Eagles who have a league low 0.101 ISO thus far despite having one of the better hitters in Preston Tucker on their side. Overall it’s a spot Brooks should be able to go deep against tonight and not give up too much damage at home. TOP STACKS Doosan Bears Jose Miguel Fernandez is the cornerstone premium hitter in this stack, which likely will have five straight lefties in it against Raul Aclantara tonight. Alcantara is just bad all around so I’d attack him with as many Bears as possible. This is a great hitters park, a high total and the Bears lock in that 9th inning road AB no matter what. Lotte Giants Other side of the chalk game today. We have to like Byung-Hun Min (OF), Dixon Machado (2B/SS) and a nice value play in Hoon Jung at $2700 (2B) who has really started the season off nicely and benefits when hitting in front of Dixon Machado. Words I never thought I would utter. NC Dinos Attack Despaigne. NC Dinos are off to a 4-1 start led by Jin-huk No and Sang-bum Na. The Dinos in their two home games over the weekend dropped 21 total runs and they seem poised to do that again against the traveling Despaigne. CHAIRMAN OF THE DONGERS CLUB Sang-bum Na (OF, $3600) – NC Dinos INJURY TO AVOID Eui Ji Yang the star catcher for the NC Dinos is banged up and likely could sit out today. Avoid him in an NC Dino stack.
KBO DFS – May 10th

The Sunday AM slate for the KBO is better in terms of weather than the Saturday morning one. Today’s slate has a bunch of the SP1’s for the teams going and a lot more “normal” names, or as the KBO league calls them “foreign players”. So far the best approach with KBO has sadly been to just identify the two pitchers you want and then roll with a stack against another arm who is likely popular. Until we really understand the players better I don’t see any other way to play this. And no, this isn’t gonna turn into a stacking debate. We are dealing with five game slates here and gotta keep that in perspective. PITCHING OPTIONS Here’s the data break down for today’s pitchers — sorted by games. We have a few of the guys who were rained out back on the mound tonight. Jung Hyun Baek ($6500 – Samsung Lions) vs Kia Tigers Samsung appears a little better at home and Baek is coming off a 4-0 loss on Opening Day but the offense looks a little better now for Samsung. Give me Samsung at home tonight against the Tigers who have actually be pretty bad offensively as well but that will go overlooked because they are favored. The Opposing arm on this game (Jung Hyun Baek) is a nice option on paper and probably one of the chalkier options today. Jeff Brigham ($8500 – Kiwoom Heroes) vs Hanwha Eagles Don’t let the stat line fool you. Brigham was removed early because of a fire in the middle of the game last Tuesday. Brigham and Saupold are both facing off in the lowest total on the slate and he’s the heavy home favorite. Also consider Warwick Saupold in the same game. FADES Yong Chan Lee ($8700 – Doosan Bears) vs Min Kim ($6800 – KT Wiz) This game is in a shitty stadium IMO for offense and normally would be worthy of a pitching game stack. However, Here’s my scouting report on these two guys Lee (Bears) … a former closer who back in 2010 was arrested on drunk driving charges after the police caught him in hit-and-run crash. He was pulled over and took a Breathalyzer test, which he failed. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Fuck that. Had the guy been arrested because he was passed out at a stop light or a drive thru then he would be the #1 arm on the slate, but not a hit and run crash. Meanwhile all I could really scoop on Kim Min is that he’s 21 years old and has pitched twice already this season in very limited spots. So Min Kim is very appropriately named as a Min value option. TOP STACKS LG TWINS Nice park and Casey Kelly doesn’t scare me Chun Woong Lee (OF) Hyun Soo Kim (OF) Roberto Ramos (1B) Eun Sung Chae (OF) Kang nam Yoo (C) SK Wyverns vs LOTTE Giants This is the most favorable ballpark on the slate if not the entire league. We saw 17 runs scored here between these teams on Friday night and last nights rain out means I would suspect we see normal lineups today for certain. Both Straily and Kingham had bad numbers in the major leagues but should do better in the KBO — however I would definitely look here for offense as much as you can.
