The Cycle 7/16

The Staff Flaherty – Will be extremely chalky tonight considering the lack of quality arms on the slate. He has struggled to get into quality start territory and does struggle a lot against LHB. This is strictly a play based on following the field and taking the best arm. I’ll be way underweight tonight on him. Lambert – Yes it’s Coors and yes the Giants almost put a 20 spot on them in game 1. He’s seen arguably 3 of the top hitting teams so far this year in his limited starts with 3 of those games coming in Coors. Both teams are coming off playing 7 hours of baseball yesterday, so there will be some fatigue especially in the thin air (lets just go with that to justify). Mengden – Ballpark In his favor, and coming off 3 straight wins. He has been “great” but he has been good enough to get you 30 points and a win. Cashner – 5 straight QS with his last 40 burger coming against Toronto. He’s allowed just 5 runs in his last 5 starts and gets the home town Fenway PAHK In his first start for the Sox. The Bats Mets – Love this spot for the top of the lineup. McNeil has been blistering, Conforto moves back up in the top 2. Alonso and Cano homer. Dodgers – VV can’t get lefties out, he won’t make out of the 3rd. Joc is too cheap. Get the lefties in. Twins – Looks like Cron and Rosario are back, so good luck Matz. One off Cruz in every lineup if you don’t want to stack. Red Sox – They May get lost in the shuffle of the large slate. Waguespack couldn’t get AAA guys out. Devers/Bogy mini stack.

The Cycle 7/15

The Staff Castillo – he’s been pretty tough on the Cubs this year. In his 2 outings against them, he’s struck out 12 batters while giving up just 3 runs and 2 quality starts. Musgrove – St Louis just hasn’t been the same team since Ozuna went on the IL. Musgrove has QS in 3 out of his last 4 starts including 2 wins and 18 k’s. Musgrove has also allowed just 4 runs in his last 4 starts. Plutko – He doesn’t have any overpowering stuff, but he’s facing a Detroit team that got shut down by Brad Keller. He needs to mix in his slider more than usual tonight, which has been the key to the strikeout bump against the Tigers. The Bats Dodgers – Eflin has been thrashed for 15 runs in his last 3 starts, with 2 of those starts allowing 6 runs. Now he faced a power lineup, including a healthy Seager. Pittsburgh – YES, I do love Mikolas but this is a tough spot for him. Lefties are going to crush my man tonight and love 4-7. Atlanta – Houser has struggled since being put into the rotation. Great spot for the power bats tonight and a red hot Donaldson. Little bit of love Toronto LAA Tampa

MLB DFS Fastballs & Flyballs 7/15

10 game slate tonight and listed below are my favorite options at Pitcher. Also a few of my favorite teams to target along with some of my favorite hitters. A few value bats to add in as well. PITCHER Lucas Giolito Giolito has pitched well vs the Royals this year posting 33 and 40 DK points in the last 2 games he faced them. Favorite option to pay up for tonight. VALUE ARM Joe Musgrove Musgrove pitched well against the team in the past limiting them to a .222 average over 55 plate appearances. The Cardinals have been cold as of late vs RHP with a .226 average and 24% K rate (Last 30 days). He is a cheap option that should go 5 innings with a few runs and 5-6 Ks. Rick Porcello Porcello has handled most of the Blue Jays bats. Tellez has given him the most trouble, Gurriell and Smoak are the other 2 that he has had trouble with. I think he pitches well enough tonight to pay off his reduced price. The Red Sox need Porcello to step it up the second half. He has the talent to do so. I can see him go 6 innings with 2-3 runs and 7 Ks. TEAM/S LA Dodgera The Dodgers get an excellent matchup tonight vs Eflin who has allowed a .374 wOBA, .290 ISO and 45% fly ball rate to LHHs. Eflin throws the slider at a 28% clip and the Dodgers crush this pitch- Pederson, Bellinger, Seager, Muncy and Barnes al hit this pitch with over a .200 ISO. These 5 would be my favorites. LA Angels Angels get another good good matchup tonight vs the duo of James and Valdez. They should see Hakes for an inning or two then get Valdez who has allowed 15 ERs over his last 8.1 innings. *Trout, Upton, Fletcher, Calhoun * With Coors on the slate the Dodgers and Angels should come in with lower ownership. Coors Field Good spot for both teams with bad pitching on both sides. SF- Belt, Dickerson, Vogt, Longoria in order of preference. Col- Blackmon, Story, Arenado FAVORITE BATS Jordan Luplow Luplow has crushed LHP this year with a .468 wOBA, .383 ISO and 44% HC. Norris relies on the slider at 30% rate and Luplow has shown to crush this pitch with over a .300 ISO. Charlie Blackmon Chuck Nasty has been an elite play at home this year rocking a .446 average, .473 iso and .566 wOBA. He gets to face a mediocre pitcher at home tonight. Lock him in. Anthony Rizzo Rizzo has hits in 6 straight games with 4 of those multi hit games. Prize is down and there is a good amount of wind blowing out in Wrigley tonight. Going with the hot bat of Rizzo and the wind. VALUE BATS Scooooootah Gennett- price is way down. Matches up well vs his pitch type. Nice 15 mph wind blowing out. Scoootah bomb! Dexter Fowler Cavan Biggio- HR tonight in Fenway Bobby Bradley- Norris struggles with lefties. Bradley hits LHP well.
