Week 1 Fantasy Football Recap | Ian Ritchie

Bills Stun the Ravens in Week 1

Written by Ian Ritchie, Founder of FullTime Fantasy & Former #1 Ranked Player The Ritchie Recap Editor’s note: An earlier version that was live for a few hours was AI edited without our knowledge. The intent was to check for typos but it took ridiculous creative liberties that we didn’t catch, often giving flat-out-absurd advice. Our sincere apologies. Below is the edited version.  Week 1 of 2025 delivered chaos—injuries and workload shifts galore. As the founder of FullTime Fantasy and ex-#1 ranked player, I’ve scouted the best value picks for your roster. Let’s dive in. Week 1 Matchup Breakdowns Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles Javonte Williams is your undervalued gem in Dallas—steady volume and goal-line shots make him a solid RB2. Eagles’ pass-catchers like AJ Brown may struggle with their run-heavy scheme; Trading him may be tough, but if you could get a Pearsall, do it and look elsewhere for WR value. Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers With Worthy out and Rice suspended, the Chiefs are a value hunter’s dream. Hollywood Brown’s 16 targets scream buy-low WR1 potential. Chargers’ Omarion Hampton (15 carries) didn’t have the week we hoped for and Najee is lurking. Keenan Allen (10 targets) with a monster vet performance. Miami Dolphins @ Indianapolis Colts Dolphins’ O-line is a mess—stick to De’Von Achane for value. Waddle’s shoulder injury opens a door for Malik Washington. Colts’ rookie TE Tyler Warren (9 targets, 76 yards) looks like a steal at tight end. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons Buccaneers’ rookie Emeka Egbuka (2 TDs, 67 yards) is as Scott put it in his rankings, the WR you had to draft. London’s shoulder sprain (day-to-day) makes Kyle Pitts and Ray-Ray McCloud must-have upgrades if he sits. Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns Burrow flopped, but Chase Brown’s 21 carries are pure value—lock him in weekly. Cleveland’s Dylan Sampson (12 carries, 8 targets) is a cheap RB play until Judkins returns; avoid Jerome Ford. Las Vegas Raiders @ New England Patriots Jeanty’s 2.0 YPC is rough, but his TD saves value—should improve. TreVeyon Henderson (5.4 YPC) is a rising RB3. His carries are concerning but his receptions saved the day. Looks overdrafted at the moment. Stevenson’s 2.1 YPC makes him droppable. Arizona Cardinals @ New Orleans Saints Trey Benson (69 yards) outshines Conner. He’s a value RB2. Kamara’s minimal passing role hurts; Olave’s 7 targets offer WR3 upside but Rattler’s throws make for scary situations for Olave given his concussion history. Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets Kaleb Johnson’s -2 yards is a bust. Jaylen Warren and Breece Hall (19 carries) are steady value plays; Braelon Allen’s TD makes him a stash and flex play. New York Giants @ Washington Commanders Tyrone Tracy (5.5 YPC) is a value RB2—start him. Jacory Croskey-Merritt (82 yards, TD) and Deebo Samuel (10 targets) were solid; McLaurin’s 4 targets disappointed but it was expected he’d be slow after the holdout. Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars Chuba Hubbard (16 carries) is your workhorse value—start him. Travis Hunter (6-33) and Brian Thomas Jr. (TD) are going to be interesting to watch each week depending on Hunters defensive usage. Hunter’s split snaps limit Week 2. Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos Cam Ward struggled, but RJ Harvey (11.7 YPC) looks like a value with that burst. JK Dobbins’ 16 carries offer RB2 potential—monitor his targets. San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks Ricky Pearsall (108 yards) our breakout player of the year impressed. His prop play of the year was over 850 yards. 745 to go!. McCaffrey’s 32 touches are gold; Zach Charbonnet (TD) outshines Walker and may steal the job. Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers Lions’ RBs Montgomery and Gibbs did not come through but Montgomery looks like the value back as their split usage from early last year continued. Jaden Reed’s targets with Love make him a value WR3; Golden’s quiet day and injury were not good for those who drafted and paid a steep price. Houston Texans @ Los Angeles Rams Nick Chubb (13 carries and 4.6 ypc) make him a value RB2—start him while you can. Puka Nacua (130 yards) outshines Adams. Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills Andrews’ 1 target is a red flag—monitor this week. The breakout game for Keon Coleman (112 yards, TD) finally came; Kincaid also came through big for those who were not fearful of Knox sharing the field. Zay Flowers big game was impressive as well. We’ll add Vikings Bears later today.

Week 1 Injury Report and Waiver Radar

Written by Duke Deming Week 1 Injury Report and Waiver Radar Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season kicked off with excitement but brought a wave of injuries. FullTime Fantasy delivers the latest injury updates and waiver wire targets for Week 2 fantasy football success. Week 1 Injury Report Drake London (WR – ATL) Drake London suffered a potential AC-joint injury in the Falcons’ Week 1 loss. His Week 2 status is unclear, boosting Kyle Pitts and Ray Ray McCloud’s value if he’s out. George Kittle (TE – SF) Kittle exited with a hamstring injury. Ricky Pearsall and backup TEs Jake Tones and Luke Farrell could see more snaps, making them streaming options. Jaylen Waddle (WR – MIA) Waddle returned after discomfort, but his Week 2 status is uncertain. Malik Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are speculative adds in deeper leagues. Jauan Jennings (WR – SF) Jennings aggravated a shoulder injury, raising durability concerns. Ricky Pearsall gains a bigger role, offering fantasy upside. Xavier Worthy (WR – KC) Worthy’s dislocated shoulder will sideline him for weeks. Marquise Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster should see more targets. Chris Olave (WR – NO) Olave returned after a brief exit; no long-term concern. He should remain a WR1 barring setbacks. Isaiah Likely (TE – BAL) Likely missed Week 1 post-surgery but should return soon. Mark Andrews is the TE focus for now. Brock Bowers (TE – LV) Bowers had a knee scare but isn’t worried. Monitor him; Michael Mayer steps up if needed. Evan Engram (TE – DEN) Engram’s calf injury is concerning. Greg Dulcich and Lucas Krull are options, but expect limited impact. Waiver Wire Radar 1. Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL) – Elevated targets with London’s injury; a must-add. 2. Ricky Pearsall (WR – SF) – Rising with Jennings and Kittle injuries; grab him now. 3. Marquise Brown (WR – KC) – Will step into WR1 role if Worthy misses multiple weeks. 4. Ray Ray McCloud (WR – ATL) – A sneaky depth piece for Atlanta if London sits. 5. Juju Smith-Schuster (WR – KC) – Benefits from Worthy’s absence in a Mahomes-led attack. 6. Malik Washington (WR – MIA) – Possible Waddle fill-in with athletic upside. 7. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (WR – MIA) – Depth add for deeper leagues if Waddle sits. 8. Greg Dulcich (TE – DEN) – Could see TE1 snaps if Engram misses extended time. 9. Michael Mayer (TE – LV) – Will be involved as TE1 if Bowers misses time.

WK 1 Circa Survivor Recap: 97% Advance as Favorites Dominate

Circa-Survivor-contest

Frank Taddeo Breaks Down the $18.7M Contest’s Mild Opening Week Written by Frank Taddeo, Las Vegas resident, long-time successful handicapper, and high-stakes fantasy winner at the Circa Fantasy Football World Championship. Favorites and low-scoring games dominated the NFL landscape in the opening week of the 2025 season. The slate, which kicked off on Thursday, saw favorites finish 12-3 straight-up (SU), with only one moderate upset impacting the Circa Survivor contest. This mild Week 1 allowed an impressive 97.3% of entrants to advance, setting the stage for an intense battle ahead in this legendary $18.7 million guaranteed prize pool contest. For the 1,811 entries (9.7%) who backed the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles in the season-opener against Dallas, the victory came with a serious sweat. The Cowboys nearly pulled off an upset on Broad Street, falling just short with a 24-20 loss. Philadelphia, the third-most selected team, survived the scare. The top pick, however, was Bo Nix and the Broncos, chosen by 7,173 entries (38.4%) to beat Tennessee at home. Despite covering as 8.5-point underdogs, the Titans fell just short of the week’s biggest upset. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals, heavily supported with 4,171 picks (22.3%), held a 17-10 lead late in the first half and secured a 20-13 road win over the Saints. Circa Survivor, boasting a record-breaking $18,718,000 prize pool with 18,718 entries, proved relatively predictable in Week 1 due to the absence of a point spread requirement. The Bears fall to the Vikings at Soldier Field, clipping another 55 entries and bringing Week 1 to a close. 573 entries total have been eliminated with 18,145 remaining. Onto Week 2!#CircaSurvivor pic.twitter.com/4gX5WBPmyo — Survivor Sweat (@SurvivorSweat) September 9, 2025 The only significant knockout came from the Raiders’ 20-13 road upset over the Patriots, eliminating 269 entries (1.9%). Overall, a modest 573 entries (3.0%) were eliminated, highlighting the week’s lack of chaos. Favorites finished with a slight 9-7 against the spread (ATS) mark (one pick’em: TB vs. ATL), while home teams held an early 8-7 SU and 9-6 ATS edge (60.0%) with one neutral-site game (KC vs. LAC in Brazil). “Under-takers” also cashed in, with lower-than-expected totals finishing 12-4 (75%) versus posted lines, boosting NFL betting bankrolls. This grueling contest challenges entrants to pick one winner weekly without repeating teams throughout the season, a pivotal rule that adds strategy to the $1,000 entry fee challenge. With a massive winner-take-all prize pool, the sweat intensifies for those advancing deep into the season. Looking ahead to Week 2, expect heavy selections on Baltimore (-12.5) vs. Cleveland, Buffalo (-7) at NY Jets, Arizona (-7) vs. Carolina, San Francisco (-6.5) at New Orleans, Dallas (-6.5) vs. NY Giants, and LA Rams (-6) at Tennessee. These matchups could shape the contest’s early narrative. Fantasy Football Week 1 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Top Picks and Players to Avoid

As a proven high-stakes fantasy football champion and podcast host with a track record of cashing in FFWC and other elite contests, I’m here to guide you through Week 1 of the 2025 season with precision. In high-stakes leagues, every decision is magnified—starting the right players can mean the difference between a payout and going home empty-handed. This weekly Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em column leverages our Fulltime Fantasy Projections, years of winning experience, and deep matchup analysis to give you an edge. Whether you’re chasing a six-figure prize or bragging rights in your ultra-competitive league, let’s lock in the best QB, RB, WR, and TE plays—and the ones to avoid—for Week 1. QB Starts Drake Maye If you waited on quarterback or need an early streamer, Maye is worth a look. I’ve been high on his talent, and with a better supporting cast plus more expected rushing, he has real upside. The Raiders allowed the third-most fantasy points to QBs last season, making this a strong spot to roll him out. Trevor Lawrence Lawrence draws Carolina, which gave up the second-most fantasy points to QBs in 2024 and still ranks near the bottom in the secondary. If you drafted him or see him on waivers, he’s a solid Week 1 starter. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Kyler Murray (Rank: QB1) RB Starts Aaron Jones I’m not sure Jones is a steady RB2 all year, but against Chicago he’s a must-play. He’s averaged 18.3 PPR points over his last 12 meetings with the Bears and topped 85 rushing yards in both matchups last season. Tony Pollard Denver’s defense is tough, but with Cody Barton gone and Dre Greenlaw banged up, Pollard should find some room. His workload keeps him locked in as a starter. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Austin Ekeler (Rank: RB16) WR Starts Travis Hunter Jacksonville plans to feature Hunter heavily, and he’ll often see CB2s with Brian Thomas Jr. drawing top coverage. Carolina allowed the eighth-most WR fantasy points last year. If you drafted him, you’re starting him. Jaylen Waddle The Colts secondary is beatable, and Miami’s injuries push Waddle into WR3 range. He’s been inconsistent, but his opportunity is too good to ignore. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Keon Coleman (Rank: WR22) TE Starts Mark Andrews Not a perfect matchup, but Andrews should be heavily involved against Buffalo, especially in the red zone. Expect Lamar Jackson to lean on him early. Tyler Warren My favorite breakout TE. Jones thrives throwing over the middle, and Warren is built to capitalize. Against a weakened Miami defense, he’s an easy start. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Dalton Kincaid (Rank: TE10) QB Sits Justin Herbert Herbert struggled against KC last year (392 yards, 2 TDs in two games) and faces the league’s No. 2-ranked secondary. Fine in superflex, but you can do better in single-QB formats. Justin Fields Pittsburgh is elite at containing rushing QBs, and Fields has a history of slow starts. He’s better left on the bench this week. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Matthew Stafford (Rank: QB32) RB Sits Jacory Croskey-Merritt Draft stock rose fast, but with Ekeler handling passing downs, Rodriguez Jr. in short yardage, and Daniels stealing goal-line work, the workload is too murky to trust against the Giants. Breece Hall With Vera-Tucker out, the Jets’ line takes a hit. Hall’s role in a committee is still unclear, and the Steelers will key on him. Treat him as a flex only. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… RJ Harvey (Rank: RB43) WR Sits Stefon Diggs He’s back from an ACL tear but enters a new system with a rookie QB. Too many questions to trust in Week 1. Calvin Ridley Likely shadowed by Patrick Surtain II with a rookie QB under center. Volume won’t be enough to overcome the matchup. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Jaylen Waddle (Rank: WR49) TE Sits Colston Loveland Minnesota is strong against tight ends, and Loveland’s role is still uncertain. Safer options are out there. Dalton Kincaid Baltimore’s defense is brutal for TEs, and he still splits with Dawson Knox. Long-term upside, but not a Week 1 play. RDA* PROJECTIONS says… Evan Engram (Rank: TE21)

Vegas vs Fulltime Rankings: Top Plus-Money Anytime Touchdown Props For Week 1

Playing in leagues like the Fantasy Football World Championships (FFWC) that require double-flex starting options, identifying players who could explode on the scene in Week 1 can lead to a winning formula.  Every week this season, I will be taking a look at players who not only offer immense value to those looking to invest in players outside of fantasy football, but also help fantasy managers lock in on players who may be flying under-the-radar on your bench or waiver waiver. Let’s take a deeper dive into the best plus-money options in Week 1 of the 2025 in comparison to our elite-winning Fulltime Fantasy Projections.  Top Values By The Projections WR Drake London +125  Fulltime Projection: 0.8 (80%) At home, with a game total of 48, we will lock in on Michael Penix Jr. ‘s top receiving weapon who found the end zone 9 times last season. Respected Money Note: 16 recs for 188 yards (11.8) and a TD vs TB last season WR Brian Thomas +130 Fulltime Projection: 1.0 (100%) BTJ was outstanding as a rookie, finishing with 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns. Under Liam Coen, Thomas is in a position to be a target hound once again in 2025. Respected Money Note:: 7 of his 10 TDs came at home last season – expect more ‘ Home Cooking! WR Davante Adams +145 Fulltime Projection: 1.0 (100%) The veteran star wideout has been a scoring machine in his career scoring 103 touchdowns in 164 games. Scoring at a 62.8% clip in his career, Stafford will look to target his new receiving weapon in his Rams debut with plenty of red zone targets. RB Jahmyr Gibbs +100 Fulltime Projection: 1.1 (110%) Gets the added boast to score in Week 1 in our Fulltime projections due to his strong prowess to contribute in the passing game. Scored 20 TDs (16 rushing (tied-for most in NFL) / 4 receiving) last season and may approach similar production once again in 2025 in Lions high-powered offense. Respected Money Note: 108 rushing yards, 1 TD & 7 receptions for 41 yards and 1 TD via the air vs GB last season RB Chuba Hubbard +100 Fulltime Projection: 0.8 (80%) Solid EV on arguably the best scoring weapon in the Carolina offense. The arrival of stud rookie wideout Tetairoa McMillan should open the box up even more for a RB who scored a career-high 11 total TDs last season who also rushed for a career-best 1,195 yards on the ground. Respected Money Note: 17 total TDs in last 32 games over last two seasons RB J.K. Dobbins +165 Fulltime Projection: 0.5 (50%) As one of the biggest favorites on the board in Week 1, game-script likely will have Denver running the ball with a healthy lead. Scored 9 rushing TDs last season with LAC and moves to an even better offense in 2025 in Denver.  Expect this line to continue to drop. Respected Money Note: 22 total TDs in last 37 career games (59.4%) when healthy Top Moonshots That Could Lead To Glory TE David Njoku +240 Fulltime Projection: 0.7 (70%) David Njoku has hauled in 30 catches for 390 yards and 4 touchdowns in 5 games with Joe Flacco under center. RB Zach Charbonnet +370  Fulltime Projection: 0.3 (30%) Kenneth Walker was banged up in preseason which could potentially lead to more than expected work for Charbonnet – the value here is superb for a player who could be on the verge of a breakout season. WR Isaac TeSlaa +450 Fulltime Projection: 0.01 (1%) Say hello to the Lions new WR3. In case you missed it, all the rookie WR did was hail in 10 receptions for 146 yards (14.6 yards per catch) and 3 touchdowns in the preseason – can he do it when it counts? The former Arkansas standout could spice it up in Week 1. WR Dont’e Thornton Jr. +490 Fulltime Projection: 0.01 (1%) Thornton’s metrics have been compared to former Lions star WR Calvin Johnson by many experts. Don’t look now but the Raiders 2025 4th Round pick has earned a starting role in Sin City. With Vrabel and the Patriots focused on stopping Brock Bowers in the red zone, the former Tennessee standout could become an immediate threat for Geno Smith right out of the gate. WR Elic Ayomanor +650 Fulltime Projection: 0.01 (1%) Game-script is heavily in the rookie wideouts’ favor as Cam Ward will likely be in full pass mode in the second half. With elite CB Patrick Surtain likely shadowing Calvin Ridley, expect plenty of volume for a 6′ 2″ target who offers considerable value at moonshot odds.

Fantasy Football Breakouts

Fantasy Football Breakouts

Fantasy Football Breakouts  This post is courtesy of Shawn Childs and Fantasy Sports on SI.  Success in fantasy football hinges on identifying a core group of players poised for breakout seasons. Each year, the player pool shifts, creating unique draft dynamics and opportunities. Securing high-value players at a discount early in drafts sets the stage for smarter decisions at other positions. In PPR leagues, I categorize positional rankings into 60-point tiers. A breakout player exceeds expectations by at least two tiers (120+ fantasy points). Below is a breakdown of average fantasy points for key positions in PPR formats (based on 4-point passing TD scoring for QBs): QB1: ~375 points RB1: ~270 points RB2: ~210 points RB3: ~160 points RB4: ~110 points WR1: ~290 points WR2: ~225 points WR3: ~190 points WR4: ~160 points TE1: ~190 points TE2: ~120 points Top-tier players significantly outscore the average at their position. For example, over the past two seasons, CeeDee Lamb (405.2 points) and Ja’Marr Chase (403.0 points) averaged over 400 points in PPR, creating a 120-point edge over the median WR1. This demonstrates the massive impact elite performers can have compared to their draft peers. Top Breakout Candidates for 2025 RB TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots Henderson has surged up draft boards after a strong preseason with the Patriots. Initially a sixth-round pick (RB20) in early July high-stakes drafts, his ADP has climbed to the third round (pick 25–47, ADP 35) over the last three days, ranking him as RB14. His rising cost demands a 2024 Bucky Irving-like breakout (Irving was a 10th-round steal last year). Henderson’s value lies in home leagues where he may still be undervalued, but his ceiling depends on New England significantly increasing his touches. WR Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Drafted 19th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Egbuka joined a potent Tampa Bay offense but faced a crowded depth chart with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan. In early July, he was the WR45 with an eighth-round ADP, offering excellent value. Recent injuries—Godwin’s delayed ankle recovery and McMillan’s four-game absence due to a neck injury—have elevated Egbuka to WR33 (ADP 60, minimum pick 50). With WR2-level snaps and targets, he has room to outperform his draft position significantly. WR Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers The trade of Deebo Samuel, coupled with Jauan Jennings’ calf issue and Brandon Aiyuk’s knee surgery recovery, has opened the door for Pearsall. As San Francisco’s top-drafted receiver, he carries a mid-tier WR3 price tag. Over the past six weeks, his ADP has risen five spots, just ahead of Egbuka. Despite injury risks and inconsistent 2024 performances (e.g., 8/141/1, 6/69/1), Pearsall’s opportunity makes him a breakout candidate. WR Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears Odunze, a sixth-round pick in July (ADP 50–69), has slipped behind Pearsall, Egbuka, and Hunter in recent drafts (ADP 66, range 59–76). His 2024 stats (54/734/3) and continuity with QB Caleb Williams give him a solid foundation. Chicago’s new offensive scheme showed promise in the preseason, but multiple receiving options (e.g., DJ Moore, Keenan Allen) could cap his ceiling. Still, Odunze’s potential suggests a future 100/1,500/10 season. WR Travis Hunter, Jacksonville Jaguars Hunter, a Heisman Trophy winner (96/1,258/15 in 2024), brings unmatched talent and versatility, playing both receiver and cornerback. His ADP (WR33–34) has remained steady, reflecting cautious optimism. Despite a quiet preseason (2/9/0 in one game, sidelined by a minor injury in another), Hunter is Jacksonville’s clear No. 2 option. The new coaching staff, led by Tampa Bay’s former offensive coordinator, sets him up for success. His elite route-running, vision, and playmaking ability point to a high-volume NFL career akin to Antonio Brown. Breakout Tote Board TreVeyon Henderson: Talented but no longer a value due to his rising ADP. Consider Omarion Henderson as a cheaper alternative. Emeka Egbuka: Rising ADP reflects growing target share, but Godwin’s return could limit his ceiling. Ricky Pearsall: Prime opportunity, but injury concerns and consistency are risks. Rome Odunze: Strong candidate for WR2 production, but Chicago’s crowded receiving corps may cap his output. Check out FullTime Fantasy’s choice for Breakout Player of the Year.
