Circa Survivor Report: Week 17

Circa Survivor Report: Week 17 CIRCA SURVIVOR WEEK 17:  DOUBLE WEEK KO’s 60% OF FIELD Week 17 of Circa’s $14 million Survivor contest, which was broken down to 17A & 17B, proved too difficult to navigate, ending the hopes of 60% of the remaining field. The Christmas Day double-header and the Thursday night game, which were their own week (17A), eliminated 11 entries after the Bears, Steelers, and Texans all suffered losses. Heading into the weekend, 34 contestants remained alive for Week 17B. The slate, which started on Saturday, saw favorites go 13-1 Straight-up (SU). However, that “one” had a major impact on the contest. 16 entrants were confident that Indianapolis would beat a struggling two-win Giants squad with their AFC playoff hopes on the line.   The ONLY underdog of 6 pts or more to win outright in December was the Drew Lock-led New York Giants against the Colts 🔥 pic.twitter.com/AYhH8kcy4r — br_betting (@br_betting) December 30, 2024   However, their hopes of surviving to the final week of this season were dashed when Drew Lock upset the Colts, 45-33. For the first time since Week 12, the most chosen selection came up short. That knocked out 47.1% of the remaining pool.   The Colts go down against the Giants eliminating 16 entries and setting the overall entries at 18. This is the first time since Week 12 in this Circa Survivor contest that the number 1 selected team has taken a loss. If you made it this far and got eliminated on the Colts,… pic.twitter.com/il0D9Rz4dG — Survivor Sweat (@SurvivorSweat) December 29, 2024   In Week 17, favorites also posted a very lucrative 11-3 Against The Spread (ATS) mark (with two pick’em games).   After seeing 27 entrants eliminated over the split week, only 18 of the starting 14,266 entries remain alive! The Circa Survivor contest is a grueling contest that forces entrants to pick one winner every week, with no spread with one pivotal caveat. Entrants CAN NOT use the same team more than once during the season.  With the 2024 NFL season down to the last week of gridiron action, pursuing the biggest $14,266,000 prize only requires one more winning selection.  Contestants (who still have them available) will heavily lean on Baltimore (-18) vs. Cleveland, Tampa Bay (-13) vs. New Orleans, Denver (-10) vs. Kansas City, and Green Bay (-9) vs. Green Bay.  From a full betting perspective, favorites hold a sizable 180-71 SU (71.7%) (5 Pick’ems) and 133-112-6 ATS (54.3%) edge. Home teams hold a slim 132-119 SU (52.6%) advantage (five international games) while road teams hold the coveted 127-118-6 ATS (51.8%) edge. Monday Night Preview

Monday Night Preview: Lions vs. 49ers There is one final game left on this Championship Week 17 slate. And from a fantasy football perspective, it’s a huge one. The Detroit Lions are traveling to San Francisco to face the 49ers and the rosters are loaded with fantasy talent. However, with rumors that the Lions could rest starters in the game, the fantasy title implications are huge. Although the 14-2 Vikings have temporarily moved into first place, the NFC North title will officially be on the line Sunday night when Minnesota travels to Detroit. The winner of that game will secure the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs. That makes next week’s primetime contest a must-see TV event for football fans. However, it will also impact tonight’s game. This game is largely meaningless for Detroit. Additionally, the Niners have already been eliminated from postseason contention. Therefore, there are rumors that Dan Campbell could elect to sit his key starters at some point tonight. That will greatly impact any remaining fantasy championship games that are still to be decided by this final contest of the week. Of course, Campbell is known for being unconventional and could easily choose to keep his foot on the gas. It all adds some intrigue to a game that was already vital. Here are some thoughts on how fantasy managers could approach this Monday Night Preview between the 49ers and Lions San Francisco 49ers  The formula for the Niners is simple. Eliminated from the playoffs last week, San Francisco is playing for pride. Kyle Shanahan will not rest starters and will look to conclude a disappointing campaign on a positive note. Expect the starters to play their normal roles and allotment of snaps. QB Brock Purdy will be a QB1 facing a defense that is allowing the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Additionally, Detroit’s defense has been decimated by injuries. Also, if Campbell does limit his defensive starter’s snaps, Purdy could rack up some solid production. There is also good news in the backfield as starter Issac Guerendo is expected back after missing Week 16. Guernedo (hamstring/foot) was removed from the injury report. Detroit’s elite run-stopping defense is starting to fall apart. That sets up Guerendo to see a lot of volume as a strong RB2 play. Jauan Jennings and Deebo Samuel are also strong options against a defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to the position. Both are solid top-20 options in our Week 17 projections. And at tight end, George Kittle remains an every-week elite starter. However, no team has allowed fewer fantasy points to tight end than these Lions, so expectations should be somewhat tempered. Fanduel line: 5/65 (11.5 pts.) Detroit Lions  Things are more complicated for fantasy managers who have been riding Detroit players to their fantasy championship matchup. Unfortunately, unless you have pivots on San Francisco’s roster, there isn’t a lot you can do. However, daily fantasy players might want to take note of some of the recent player lines and odds movements. QB Jared Goff doesn’t run much and avoids hits. He has less chance of getting hurt and could easily play the entire game. Especially if Campbell stays true to his aggressive nature and wants to exact some revenge for last year’s NFC Championship Game defeat at the hands of Shanahan and the Niners. Goff’s passing line (247.5) hasn’t decreased notably and he is still -192 to go OVER 1.5 touchdown passes. At running back, Jahmyr Gibbs‘s rushing prop has dropped five yards down to 79.5. He remains an elite option and can make an impact in just a half. Even if there is some risk of Gibbs being limited, fantasy managers have no choice but to stick with a top-3 back in this slate. Even if Gibbs was limited, there isn’t much clarity behind him. Craig Reynolds is the next man up but isn’t anywhere near the talent that David Montgomery was. Reynolds has some size and could be used in short-yardage, but he has only recorded one catch all season. Fanduel line: 83 rushing yds., 4/22 receiving (14.5 pts.) After Reynolds, Sione Vaki has mostly played special teams and has nine touches all season. Jermar Jefferson out-touched Vaki last week and could be an interesting (and inexpensive) DFS dart throw. Amon-Ra St. Brown is too good to sit. Even if there were viable replacements. St. Brown’s receiving prop has only dipped three yards, down to 73.5. Fanduel line: 7/71 (14.1 pts.) Jameson Williams also remains a decent option but the matchup isn’t great. San Francisco plays disciplined defense and has surrendered just 12 touchdowns to enemy wideouts all season. Fanduel line: 4/52 (9.2 pts.) If available, Tim Patrick would make a savvy waiver add as insurance to St. Brown or Williams. Allen Robinson and Tom Kennedy are next in line but are well off the fantasy radar except as DFS dart throws. Tight end Sam LaPorta has been hot lately and has a fantasy score prop line of 11 PPR points. That puts him in TE1 range. Fantasy managers looking for other options could consider Brock Wright, who has flashed some red-zone chemistry with Goff. TL;DR – We’re skeptical that the Lions will rest starters enough to justify taking your studs out of championship lineups.  Thanks for reading our Monday Night Preview! Our best guess is a committee led by Mike Boone, but hard to trust anything in this backfield. Raheem Blackshear, Velus Jones, and Emani Bailey will also get touches. CeeDee Lamb (WR) Dallas Cowboys – Placed on IR. David Njoku (TE) Cleveland Browns Jalen Hurts (QB) Philadelphia Eagles – Did not clear concussion protocol. Kenny Pickett will start. Nick Folk (PK) Tennessee Titans Cedric Tillman (WR) Cleveland Browns Dyami Brown (WR) Washington Commanders Questionable  Issac Guerendo (RB) San Francisco 49ers – The Niners play on Monday, so Saturday’s practice will be telling. Chirs Olave (WR) New Orleans Saints – Apparently the Saints are considering activating Olave. However, the move doesn’t make much sense in a lost season. Anthony Richardson (QB) Indianapolis Colts – Has not practiced all week. However, there is optimism that he will start. Tyreek Hill (WR) Miami Dolphins   Jaylen Waddle (WR) Miami Dolphins   Jalen Tolbert (WR) Dallas Cowboys  Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers Tony Pollard (RB) Tennessee Titans  Tyler Boyd (WR) Tennessee Titans  EXPECTED TO PLAY A.J. Brown (WR) Philadelphia Eagles  Tee Higgins (WR) Cleveland Browns  Malik Nabers (WR) New York Giants  Drake London (WR) Atlanta Falcons J.K. Dobbins (RB) Los Angeles Chargers  James Conner (RB) Arizona Cardinals – Will play but is not 100% healthy. Davante Adams (WR) New York Jets – Chasing 1,000 yards. Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 17

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 17 Welcome to Championship Week, where Week 17 could crown you king or leave you in the dust. Let’s dive into the lineup decisions that could define your season! Our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 17 will help you make informed decisions to win that title. Subsequently, our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 16 will help you navigate that turbulence to pick a winning lineup this week. Additionally, FullTime Fantasy has some of the top tools of the trade and accurate rankings. Quarterbacks  Start ‘Em Jared Goff, Detroit Lions vs San Francisco 49ers Goff proved he’s a weather warrior with 336 yards and three scores in chilly Chicago last week. Heading into another outdoor game, but this time with kinder conditions, Goff has posted an average of 29.5 fantasy points in his last three games. His arm has been on fire with 11 total touchdown passes in that span. Despite the 49ers presenting a challenge on paper, Goff’s consistency makes him a no-brainer start in championship week. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Bucs vs Carolina Panthers After a disappointing outing against these same Panthers in Week 13, Mayfield has turned it around, amassing at least 25 fantasy points in his last three games. Hosting the Carolina Panthers at home this week, where they’ve been generous to opposing QBs, expect Mayfield to keep the heat on and deliver another strong performance. Check out where Baker Mayfield ranks in our Week 17 QB Rankings Sit ‘Em Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals vs LA Rams Murray managed a decent fantasy output against the Panthers, but his reliance on rushing for points has been inconsistent. The Rams have transformed into a defensive fortress since their last meeting with the Cardinals, making this a matchup to avoid for Murray. Running Backs Start ‘Em Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Irving is eating up defenses with his versatility, both running and catching. He’s scored at least 13 fantasy points in five of his last six games, and with the Panthers giving up the most rushing yards and touchdowns to running backs, he’s a must-start with championship-winning potential. Tyrone Tracy, NY Giants vs Indianapolis Colts Assuming Tracy shakes off his ankle injury, he’s a solid RB2 start. He’s been a dual-threat contributor with Drew Lock at QB, and the Colts have been leaky against the run, setting Tracy up for another productive game. Devin Singletary would also be a fine replacement if Tracy is held out. Sit ‘Em Brian Robinson, Washington Commanders vs Atlanta Falcons Robinson was sidelined by game script last week, and the Falcons defense has been surprisingly stingy against running backs, making him a risky play this week. Additionally, recent turnover struggles make Robinson a riskier proposition than we’d like to see on Championship Week. Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles Dowdle’s performance has waned, and facing an Eagles defense that’s been one of the stingiest against the run, coupled with competition from Ezekiel Elliott at the goalline, suggests leaving him on the bench. Wide Receivers Start ‘Em Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings With Christian Watson out, Jayden Reed could see an uptick in targets against a Vikings secondary that’s been generous to wide receivers. He’s a start this week with potential upside. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos vs Cincinnati Bengals Sutton’s last couple of games were lackluster, but he’s due for a rebound. The Bengals have been vulnerable to receivers, setting up Sutton for a potentially big week. Sit ‘Em Amari Cooper, Buffalo Bills vs NY Jets Cooper’s involvement has drastically dropped in recent games, and the New York Jets defense has been a fortress against receivers, making him a high-risk start for your championship lineup. Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns vs Miami Dolphins With Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center, Jeudy’s production has tanked. The Dolphins’ defense against receivers is formidable, making Jeudy a sit in most scenarios. Tight Ends Start ‘Em Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Chargers Despite last week’s TD coming in garbage time, Henry has been a reliable option for fantasy managers, particularly in the red zone. His consistent floor makes him a start. Payne Durham, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Cade Otton has been ruled out. Durham will nab the start in his place and gets a superlative matchup. Facing the Panthers, who’ve been the second-most generous to tight ends, he’s a strong start in championship lineups. Also, he can be readily added off of waiver wires everywhere. Sit ‘Em Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons vs Washington Commanders Pitts has been a fantasy letdown, with his recent performances not justifying a start. Even against a middle-of-the-pack defense like Washington, the risk outweighs the potential reward. Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions vs San Francisco 49ers Despite recent success, the 49ers have been tough on tight ends, particularly at home. With the championship on the line, it might be wise to look elsewhere, even if it means making a tough call on LaPorta.   ENTER OUR WEEK 17 DRAFT CONTEST! Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 17

It is Christmas morning, and the NFL has several gifts this season for football fans. Among them is the final Thursday Night game between the Seahawks and Bears. Fulltime Fantasy‘s Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 17 takes an abbreviated look at the game from a fantasy football and betting perspective.

The Seahawks had an opportunity to take control of the NFC West last week but lost a heartbreaker at home to the Minnesota Vikings. Now, Seattle has a tough task traveling east on short rest to frigid Chicago to take on the Bears. However, Chicago has lost nine straight games, which bodes well for the Seahawks’ odds of catching up with the Rams.

Meanwhile, the Bears are wrapping up a lost season that will result in a new regime next year. However, the players assuredly want to end things positively and get No. 1 pick Caleb Williams his fifth home win.

To do that, Chicago will have to pull the upset. Seattle is favored by 3.5 points and the total is a modest 44 points.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
Seattle Seahawks 14 4 30 13 15
Chicago Bears 31 27 25 31 26

Chicago has mustered a miserable offense for most of the season. The Bears have only scored more than two touchdowns once during their nine-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Chicago ranks 23rd against the pass and 26th versus the run. Additionally, only the Jaguars allow more yards per play than the Bears.

The Bears’ struggles have been on both sides of the ball, and their -59 points differential is the second-worst in the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks face a must-win situation. They are currently out of the NFC playoff picture and cannot afford to lose another game, particularly to a bottom-dwelling opponent like the Bears.

The Seahawks are the second-most pass-heavy offense in football. And that strength matches up well against a Chicago defense that has started to slip. Chicago has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks over the last five weeks. Additionally, the Bears’ inability to consistently sustain drives on offense should give Geno Smith and company ample opportunities to score points.

Seattle Offense

Geno Smith is second in the NFC with 3,955 passing yards. However, touchdowns have been harder to come by. Smith has only…

Injury Report: Week 17

Jalen Hurts

Injury Report: Week 17 Happy Holidays and congratulations on advancing to the final week. (Insert Europe’s The Final Countdown) Unfortunately, many fantasy managers who overcame months of adversity still have ‘a few fractuosities to endure’. Our Injury Report: Week 17 will keep you up-to-date on all the fantasy-relevant news. By the way, the first person who can identify that quote gets a free Maui Madness entry. Hit me up @JodySmithNFL. Also, bookmarking our NFL Injury Report is a great way to stay updated on the latest injuries. Finally, FullTime Fantasy Members will get the latest NFL injury news and advice live each Sunday and Thursday in the FullTime Fantasy Discord. Click below to join us today!   Jalen Hurts (QB) Philadelphia Eagles – Hurts was forced to exit last week’s loss early with a concussion. The average NFL player misses 1-2 weeks with a head injury, so Hurts is 50/50 at best to suit up in the finals. James Conner (RB) Arizona Cardinals – Moderately good news on James Conner’s knee. It sounds like there is at least a modest chance he will play in Week 17. However, Arizona plays on Saturday, which shortens Conner’s recovery time. Trey Benson and Michael Carter are priority waiver targets.   “We’ll see how it goes throughout the week. I know he wants to play.” Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon with the latest on RB James Conner. The good news, Conner’s knee injury doesn’t sound serious. @PHNX_Cardinals pic.twitter.com/hksEGIBRjj — Bo Brack (@BoBrack) December 23, 2024 Alvin Kamara (RB) New Orleans Saints – Kamara missed Monday’s loss with a groin injury. The Saints have nothing to play for, so chances are that Kamara will not suit up again. However, he is only 50 rushing yards away from surpassing 1,000 yards for the first time, so that may be an objective important to him and the team to achieve this week or next. We are assuming Kamara will not play this week and have downgraded his Week 17 projections. CeeDee Lamb (WR) Dallas Cowboys – It appears Lamb aggravated that troublesome AC joint on a long catch versus the Bucs. His snaps were limited after the play. It’s a pain-tolerance issue, so Lamb could play through it this week. However, with the Cowboys’ season over, there is also a chance that the team rests their star wideout. We’ll have updates later in the week. Drake London (WR) Atlanta Falcons – Dealing with a hamstring injury that isn’t considered serious. However, all hamstring injuries are culpable of reoccurrence without proper rest. For now, London is more likely to play this week but his practice participation will need to be watched closely. George Pickens (WR) Pittsburgh Steelers – The bad news is that the hamstring injury that occurred in practice has now cost Pickens three games. However, the good news is that Pickens is expected to return this week in a crucial game against the Chiefs. Kenneth Walker III (RB) Seattle Seahawks – Walker (ankle) was unable to practice on Monday. Seattle faces Chicago on Thursday, which gives Walker very little time to heal. We expect him to miss this game, putting Zach Charbonnet in a position to compete for RB1/2 numbers. J.K. Dobbins (RB) Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers opened Dobbins’s 21-day window. If Dobbins is activated from IR, he’ll be an RB2 in New England. Cade Otton (TE) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Missed Week 16 with a knee injury. Tyrone Tracy (RB) New York Giants – Tracy re-aggravated an ankle injury and did not practice Tuesday. Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers – Green Bay’s oft-injured wideout exited Monday Night Football with a quad/hamstring injury. The Packers had the game well in hand at the time, so it’s possible that Watson’s absence was merely precautionary. His Week 17 practice status will be telling. Aaron Rodgers (QB) New York Jets – Dealing with an injured knee and potential high-ankle sprain. Tank Dell (WR) Houston Texans – A friendly-fire hit resulted in Dell suffering a dislocated knee and tearing multiple ligaments. Unfortunately, this is a devastating injury that not only ends Dell’s 2024 season but could result in him missing all of next year too. Issac Guerendo (RB) San Francisco 49ers – Missed last week due to a hamstring injury. San Francisco has nothing to play for, but reports indicate the rookie is trending in the right direction. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR) New Orleans Saints – MVS sat out Monday’s loss with a chest injury and illness. Even if he’s recovered in time for Week 17 action, having Spencer Rattler under center effectively neutralizes all New Orleans pass-catchers. Concussion Protocol Justice Hill (RB) Baltimore Ravens – Ruled OUT. Alec Pierce (WR) Indianapolis Colts –   ENTER OUR WEEK 17 DRAFT CONTEST! Chuba Hubbard Carolina Panthers

Circa Survivor Report: Week 16 CIRCA SURVIVOR WEEK 16: TWO UPSETS TRIM THE FIELD Over Weeks 13-15, a total of only four entrants were knocked out of Circa’s $14 million Survivor contest. In Week 16 alone, five contestants will find coal in their Christmas stockings. Fulltime Fantasy‘s exclusive dive into the field recaps the chaos of a wild week of NFL action.  The slate, which included Thursday and Saturday action, saw favorites go 12-4 Straight-up (SU), resulting in chaos that has trimmed the field ahead of the holiday week. Four entrants were confident that an Arizona Cardinals club playing for an NFC playoff berth would beat a Carolina squad that had only won three of its first 14 games.   Chuba Hubbard calls game 🎬 pic.twitter.com/QUrrCkrQxv — NFL (@NFL) December 22, 2024   However, their hopes for a chance to advance for the life-changing prize were crushed when Chuba Hubbard danced into the endzone from 21 yards out in overtime to give the Panthers a 36-30 upset victory.   FINAL: The @DallasCowboys win a thriller at the end! #TBvsDAL pic.twitter.com/yPRWdgR7oa — NFL (@NFL) December 23, 2024   On Sunday night, one contestant was left crying in his eggnog when Dallas upset Tampa Bay as 5-point home underdogs under the bright lights of Sunday night football.   DaRon locks it up 🔒 📺: #TBvsDAL on NBC 📲: Stream on NFL+ https://t.co/LvklCbYJ1e pic.twitter.com/GPFQfno0PL — Dallas Cowboys (@dallascowboys) December 23, 2024   Trailing by just two points, with 1:40 remaining in the game, Baker Mayfield looked to drive the Buccaneers for the game-winning score. Buffalo, who closed as 14-point home favorites, erased a 14-point deficit to escape with a 24-21 win that came down to the final play of the game.   A blowout Green Bay win causes 21 entries to stay alive in the Circa Survivor Pool. We’ve got the Christmas Circa Survivor week right around the corner! Stay tuned.#CircaSurvivor #CircaSports #SurvivorSweat pic.twitter.com/e9Rs69xeR8 — Survivor Sweat (@SurvivorSweat) December 24, 2024   In Week 16, favorites emerged victorious at a 68.8% clip, while also posting a very lucrative 11-5 Against The Spread (ATS) mark.   After seeing five entrants eliminated, only 45 of the starting 14,266 entries remain alive! While the NFL is only down to two weeks of NFL action, the quest for the biggest Survivor prize in history ($14,266,000) still requires three more winning selections. This is due to the fact that the Christmas Day double-header and the Thursday night game are their own week. If entrants advance they will then be required to pick a winner from either Saturday, Sunday, or Monday night.   Entrants (who still have them available) will lean heavily on: Buffalo (-10) vs NY Jets, Philadelphia (-9) vs Dallas, Indianapolis (-8) at NY Giants, and Tampa Bay (-8) vs Carolina.  From a betting perspective, favorites hold a sizable 169-71 SU (70.4%) and 125-109-6 ATS (53.4%) edge. Home teams hold a slim 123-112 SU (52.3%) advantage (five international games) while road teams hold the coveted 120-109-6 ATS (52.4%) edge. The Circa Survivor contest is a grueling contest that forces entrants to pick one winner every week, with no spread with one pivotal caveat. Entrants CAN NOT use the same team more than once during the season.  Circa Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas is the proud home of FullTime Fantasy‘s renowned Fantasy Football World Championship!   ENTER OUR WEEK 17 DRAFT CONTEST! Happy Festivus! And welcome to Championship Week! This is what all that work was for. Congratulations on overcoming all the adversity 2024 threw at us. With only one week left, our Waiver Wire: Week 17 will help you fortify that final roster.

This is not the time to change your routine or get cute with lineups. Keep doing what you’ve been doing. However, it is smart to be proactive in adding depth, especially if it blocks your opponent from reinforcing their roster.

Along with knowing who to pick up, FullTime Fantasy‘s Matchup Analyzer Tool will help you get the most out of your lineup.

NOTE: There are TWO games on Christmas🎄 and THREE Saturday games this week.

Alexander Mattison (RB) Las Vegas Raiders – In his return to the lineup, Mattison totaled 56 yards and a score. What was encouraging was the 16 touches that Mattison absorbed. The Raiders are just playing out the string but Mattison’s high-volume role makes him the top add to target where he is available. Also, teammate Ameer Abdullah remains a viable flex option in PPR formats.

Trey Benson (RB) Arizona Cardinals – James Conner suffered a knee injury in the second half of Week 16’s loss. With Arizona mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, there is…
