Rookie Scouting Profile: Marvin Mims

FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Marvin Mims Marvin Mims Jr. (WR) Oklahoma Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 5-11 183 4.38 03/19/2002 Round 3-4 2.01 TY Hilton College Production A highly-decorated star out of Lone Star High in Fresno, Texas, Marvin Mims was Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Mr. Texas Football (5A) recipient in 2019 and is the state’s all-time leader in career receiving yards in a career. Mims also set Texas records with his historic 117-2,629-32 showing as a senior. Mims has myriad Power 5 offers and committed initially to Stanford before finally staying closer to home with the Sooners. As a true freshman at OU, Mims immediately made an impact, leading the Sooners in grabs (37), yards (610), and scores (9) and earning freshman All-American honors. Mims averaged a career-best 22 yards per reception as a sophomore but his overall production dropped off due to the Caleb Williams/Spencer Rattler quarterback shenanigans. In 2022, Mims was named to the All-Big-12 First-Team after racking up 55 receptions for 1,083 yards and six touchdowns. The Dynasty Football World Championships Orphans are now on sale! Click HERE to enter the Orphans lobby and get teams up to 50% OFF!  Strengths • Outstanding measurables at the Combine, including a 40 (4.38), vert (39.5), and broad jump (129) that all tested in the 90th percentile or higher. Mims also posted an impressive 131.7 Burst Score (91st percentile). • Versatile route runner with the ability to line up on the perimeter, in the slot (30.1% slot rate in 2022), or as a plus kick returner. • Mims consistently was featured as OU’s No. 1 playmaker and excelled as a vertical threat who routinely came down with contested catches. • Stood out with his ability to create yards after the catch with a knack for producing first towns. Mims has the kind of instincts and alpha mentality to develop into an NFL team’s WR1. • Dangerous deep threat who tied for 16th in FBS in 2022 with 17.0 ADOT and was 28th with 2.75 yards per route run. Concerns • Mims is a bit undersized with his weight (11th percentile), hands (31st), and wingspan (29th) all falling well below norms that scouts like to see in NFL perimeter wideouts. • While adept at making plays downfield, needs to develop a better feel for how to manipulate coverage and find weaknesses in zone coverage and on shorter routes. • Unproven in many pro route concepts. • Could struggle to fend off bigger, stronger press corners. • Hands were mostly good but credited with four drops in 2022. Fantasy Outlook You don’t have to look long if you’re looking for Marvin Mims praise from the fantasy analytics community. Mims’ ability to generate big plays is expected to carry over into the pros and that has certainly not gone unnoticed. NEW Marvin Mims #ReceptionPerception Prospect Profile is up on the site. – 72.2% success rate vs. man coverage puts him in range with top prospects – Can absolutely fly + track the ball Check out his comp and where he can improve in intermediate areas:https://t.co/PG2kHHKqDj pic.twitter.com/mRoa0BNO3U — Matt Harmon (@MattHarmon_BYB) April 6, 2023 The comparisons for Mims are also indicative of success, ranging from Darnell Mooney to Christian Kirk. I see a lot of similarities to TY Hilton, who was consistently able to make huge downfield plays and get open despite concerns about his frame. Despite being a likely Day 2 pick, Mims’ ADP has crept up into the first round of rookie-only drafts. That puts him right up there as a top-5 wideout in this deep incoming group. I feel like there is enough upside to warrant that kind of attention in drafts, particularly if Mims is drafted by a team that can scheme him into the proper role right away. Mims is also in the conversation to be drafted as a WR4 in redraft leagues and has top-40 value in start-ups. FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Jalin Hyatt Jalin Hyatt (WR) Tennessee Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 6-0 176 4.40 09/25/2001 Day 2 1.10 Will Fuller   This FullTime Fantasy profile is written by Adam Krautwurst. Show Adam some love and be sure to follow him on Twitter.  College Production The all-time receiving yards and touchdown receptions scorer at Dutch Fork (CA) High and four-time state champ, Hyatt spurned Virginia Tech and ultimately landed at Tennessee. After accumulating modest numbers in 17 games of action in 2020 and 2021, Hyatt broke out in his junior campaign. Hyatt had a remarkable 2022 season despite being relatively unknown. As a unanimous All-American in 2022, he managed to accumulate 1,267 yards and score 15 touchdowns through only 67 receptions, which translates to an average of 18.9 yards per catch. His coming-out party was a 6-catch, 207-yard, 5-TD performance against Alabama. Due to his outstanding season, he was honored with the Fred Biletnikoff Award, recognizing him as the top receiver in the nation. The Dynasty Football World Championships Orphans are now on sale! Click HERE to enter the Orphans lobby and get teams up to 50% OFF!  Strengths • Boasts elite speed, capable of quickly closing the gap on cornerbacks and outpacing even the fastest defensive backs. • In 2022, Hyatt showcased his ability to dominate even the most talented secondaries in college football, making him nearly impossible to stop without double coverage. • His long arms (32.5 inches) enable him to play bigger than his size, and his impressive catch radius allows him to make catches that might otherwise be out of reach. • Hyatt excels at tracking the ball downfield and consistently makes receptions on long throws. • He is an exceptional catch-and-run threat, running hard and gaining substantial yardage after the catch. • Possesses elite quickness off the line of scrimmage and enough strength to escape the jam at the next level. • A precise route runner, Hyatt can create separation when used on quick outs and stop patterns in college. He also exhibits good stop-start ability and lateral agility. • Despite only being 176 lbs, he’s an excellent blocker. • Additionally, he led the country in QB rating when targeted in 2022. Concerns • Limited tape and only one standout season (2022) where he achieved elite numbers. • Has had a limited route tree and may require a significant amount of time to adapt to a professional offense. • Has predominantly played in the slot and, as a result, has not frequently faced press coverage challenges. • Needs to improve his ability to read and adjust to zone coverage. • There may be some difficulty in translating his skillset to the professional level, where simply winning with speed on deep routes will not be enough. • Simply unpolished. Fantasy Outlook I LOVE Jalin Hyatt! Hyatt is an exciting and raw young prospect for dynasty fantasy football leagues. He has incredible speed, demonstrated by his impressive college track records and on-field performances. He has also dominated the best teams in the SEC. However, his tape is limited, and he has only had one season where he achieved elite numbers. Currently, Hyatt’s dynasty fantasy football ADP is low, making him an intriguing target for those looking to invest in a high-upside player. If he lands with a team that can properly utilize his speed and builds a scheme around him, his potential ceiling is sky-high. Hyatt’s landing spot will probably determine whether or not he becomes a great receiver. As for possible NFL landing spots, the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and Tennessee Titans could be excellent fits for his skillset. If he lands in Green Bay, he would have the opportunity to develop with Jordan Love and would make a crazy speed combo with WR Christian Watson. Meanwhile, the Bills could use him as a deep threat to stretch the field for their stud quarterback, Josh Allen. Hyatt could stay in the slot while Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis continue to work on the outside. Lastly, with the Titans, he could serve as an electrifying option opposite WR Treylon Burks, providing a dynamic vertical threat to the offense. When it comes to player comparisons, Hyatt’s skillset is reminiscent of Will Fuller, a player who also made a name for himself with his speed and deep-threat abilities. If he can stay healthy and continue to develop his route tree, Hyatt has the potential to make a significant impact on the NFL and fantasy football alike. Landing in the right spot is crucial for Hyatt to succeed right away. In dynasty leagues, he’s definitely worth considering as a high-risk, high-reward pick. Rookie Scouting Profile: Sean Tucker

FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Sean Tucker (RB) Sean Tucker (RB) Syracuse Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 5-9 207 4.44 10/25/2001 Round 3-4 2.04 Miles Sanders *Pro Day This FullTime Fantasy profile is written by Adam Krautwurst. Show Adam some love and be sure to follow him on Twitter.  College Production Sean Tucker, a former Calvert Hall College High School student, was rated as a 3-star recruit. After completing high school, Tucker enrolled at Syracuse University. During his freshman year in 2020, Tucker played in 9 games for the Syracuse football team. He rushed for 626 yards on 137 attempts, achieving an average of 4.6 yards per carry. He also scored 4 touchdowns. In addition, he made 8 receptions for 113 yards. In his sophomore year in 2021, Tucker played in 12 games and had an impressive performance. He rushed for 1,496 yards on 246 attempts, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He scored 12 touchdowns. Additionally, he caught 20 passes for 255 yards. In his junior year in 2022, Tucker played in 12 games for Syracuse. He rushed for 1,061 yards on 204 attempts, achieving an excellent average of 5.2 yards per carry. He scored 11 touchdowns. As a receiver, he made 36 receptions for 254 yards. The Dynasty Football World Championships Orphans are now on sale! Click HERE to enter the Orphans lobby and get teams up to 50% OFF!  Strengths • Tucker has a strong ability to finish runs and can get through traffic by getting small. • As a receiver, Tucker has soft hands and a good feel for catching and transitioning upfield on screen plays. • Tucker excels in open space, showing quickness and vision similar to a return specialist. His stop-start ability allows him to create initial separation from defenders. • With a quick initial burst and good lateral quickness, Tucker can sidestep defenders and bounce runs outside. He has above-average vision as an inside and outside runner, displaying good patience and footwork. • Tucker possesses quick feet and straight-line speed. • Despite having a 3rd down back skill set, Tucker is a solidly built runner who is surprisingly effective between the tackles. Concerns • Often tries to be fancy by bouncing instead of running downhill. • Lacks strength and contact balance which makes it difficult for him to fight forward through tackles. • Has very limited experience in pass protection. • Slightly undersized, tough to improve on that though. Fantasy Outlook In dynasty formats, Sean Tucker’s potential as a long-term asset is very appealing. His current dynasty ADP is in the mid to late second round, which makes him a solid pick for dynasty teams looking to add a talented young running back to their roster. He has the potential to become a workhorse back for a team in the future, and his skills as a receiver make him even more valuable in PPR leagues. Some player comparisons for Sean Tucker include Miles Sanders, Alvin Kamara, and Kenyan Drake. All three of these players are explosive runners who also have the ability to contribute in the passing game. If Tucker can continue to develop his skills, he has the potential to become a similar type of player in the NFL. When it comes to potential landing spots in the NFL, Tucker’s skill set could be a good fit for teams that value running backs who can contribute to the passing attack. Depending on his NFL landing spot, he could become a featured back for a team looking to add a dynamic playmaker to their offense.  Some possible landing spots include the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, and the Miami Dolphins. All three of these teams could benefit from a dynamic young running back like Tucker, and they all have offensive schemes that could take advantage of his skills. Overall, Sean Tucker has the potential to be a high-upside running back in both Bestball and Dynasty formats. His speed, agility, and versatility make him an attractive option for fantasy owners, and his projected draft position and NFL landing spot will be key factors in determining his value in Dynasty leagues. FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Kendre Miller (RB) Kendre Miller (RB) TCU Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 5-11 215 4.58 06/11/2002 Round 4 2.07 Javonte Williams College Production Miller was named the Texas 2A District 10 MVP at Mount Enterprise High School and stayed home to play for TCU after mulling offers from Southern Miss, UTSA, and Wyoming. Miller logged 54 rushes in his freshman (2020) campaign, running for 388 yards and a pair of TDs. Upped his stats in 2021, ranking second on the Horned Frogs (to Zach Evans) with 623 rushing yards, eight scores, and snagging a dozen balls for 117. In TCU’s 52-31 win over Texas Tech, Miller rushed 12 times for 185 yards and three touchdowns. All three scores came from 30-plus yards making Miller the only FBS running back to accomplish that feat. In final, breakout season at TCU, Miller led the team with 1,399 rushing yards and 17 scores and was named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award. The Dynasty Football World Championships Orphans are now on sale! Click HERE to enter the Orphans lobby and get teams up to 50% OFF!  Strengths • Ideal NFL size and frame. • Creates yards with quick cuts, good vision, and enough power to run through arm tackles. • Contact balance and agility also appear to be above average. Miller consistently seems to churn out extra yards and turn potential losses into gains. • Ranked 12th in FBS with 70 missed tackles forced and ninth with 627 breakaway yards. • Has drawn interest and met with multiple NFL teams pre-draft, including the Cardinals, Bills, Giants, and Chargers. Concerns • Upright running style leaves Miller susceptible to more hits. • Just adequate speed (43rd percentile). Miller isn’t going to run away from faster NFL defensive backs. • Very poor in pass protection. Miller’s 31.9 pass-blocking grade per PFF ranked 186th out of 199 qualifying FBS running backs in 2022. • Was adequate catching dump-off passes but is unproven as a route runner and inexperienced with NFL passing and route concepts. Fantasy Outlook Miller is a tough prospect to nail down. He has the frame, vision, and contact balance to be a plus NFL runner. However, there are limitations in the passing game that are a concern. That doesn’t preclude teams from considering Miller a potential three-down contributor, it just means that his lack of experience at TCU could cause other teams to think he’s merely an early-down committee back. If Miller lasts into the fourth round, his dynasty stock would take a hit. But, if he is a Day Two selection and lands in a competent offense, Miller will be a solid second-round selection in rookie drafts. That landing spot will be key in determining Miller’s redraft and start-up value. For now, view him as a promising RB4 to target with a late-round fantasy selection. Rookie Scouting Profile: De’Von Achane

FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: De’Von Achane (RB) De’Von Achane (RB) Texas A&M Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 5-8 188 4.32 10/13/2001 Day 2 1.09 Tarik Cohen   This FullTime Fantasy profile is written by Adam Krautwurst. Show Adam some love and be sure to follow him on Twitter.    College Production During his time at Texas A&M, De’Von Achane was a highly productive player despite being underutilized in his first two seasons. In his junior year, he was given the starting role and made the most of his opportunities, finishing the season with 1,102 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, and an average of 5.6 yards per carry. He also caught 36 balls for 196 yards and 3 TDs. Achane had several standout performances during the 2020 season, including a career-high 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Aggies’ 34-13 victory over Tennessee. He also had a season-high three receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown in a win over LSU. In the Orange Bowl against North Carolina, Achane had a memorable performance, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries, earning him the game’s MVP honors. Overall, Devon Achane’s college production demonstrates his ability to make an impact on the field despite being undersized, and his impressive speed and versatility make him an intriguing prospect for the 2023 NFL draft. Strengths • Despite being underutilized during his time at Texas A&M, Achane has made a significant impact on the field whenever he got the rock. Last season, he started and carried the ball 196 times for 1,102 yards, scoring eight touchdowns and averaging 5.6 yards per carry. • As a runner, Achane is explosive with great decision-making, able to quickly identify gaps in the defense and burst through them without hesitation. • He has exceptional footwork and contact balance, allowing him to navigate through traffic with ease. • Sprinter-level speed remains consistent through cuts, and he can outmaneuver most defenders to make big gains. • As a receiver, Achane is equally impressive, able to line up in various positions and exploit the defense with his smooth route running and soft, reliable hands. • All-SEC first-teamer with an extensive record of success as an NCAA track sprinter. Concerns • Achane’s biggest concern is his (lack of) size. • At 5-foot-8 and 188 pounds, he is considered undersized for an NFL running back, which raises concerns about his ability to handle a full workload as a lead back. • Additionally, his play strength is below average, making him more susceptible to being stopped in his tracks when taken head-on as a runner. • He lacks the power to move piles or fight for extra yards, which could limit his effectiveness as a short-yardage and goal-line back at the professional level. • Liability in pass protection. Fantasy Outlook While Achane’s size and play strength limitations may cause some teams to view him as a complementary player who needs to be paired with a bigger back, he possesses every other trait that could make him a valuable addition to any pro offense. If he falls out of the second round of the draft, it would be a significant injustice, as he has the potential to provide an instant upgrade to any team that takes him. Jody’s insight: I feel like Achane is being over-drafted at the tail-end of Round 1 in rookie-only drafts. However, that is before we know his landing spot. If Achane winds up with a creative play-caller willing to scheme Achane into his offense as more than just a third-down back, Achane has a ton of PPR potential. I would just prefer to take him in the middle or latter part of the second round. Other Rookie Profiles Bijan Robinson Jaxon Smith-Njigba Jordan Addison Quentin Johnston Jahmyr Gibbs C.J. Show Adam some love and be sure to follow him on Twitter.  College Production During his college career, Will Levis played for both Penn State and Kentucky. Here are some of his statistics and notable performances. In 2019, as a redshirt freshman at Penn State, Levis appeared in three games as a backup quarterback. He completed 6 of 11 passes for 57 yards and one interception and also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. In 2020, Levis saw increased playing time as Penn State’s backup quarterback behind Sean Clifford. Levis appeared in six games and started one, completing 33 of 56 passes for 421 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also rushed for 260 yards and three touchdowns on 65 carries, including a 34-carry, 137-yard performance against Michigan. Following the 2020 season, Levis transferred to Kentucky. In 2021, he won the starting quarterback job and played in all 13 games for the Wildcats. He completed 151 of 295 passes for 2,026 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 450 yards and six touchdowns on 135 carries, including a 125-yard rushing performance against LSU. Strengths • Possesses prototypical quarterback size at 6’4″ and 230 pounds. • Reportedly fared very well, posting a 93 score in the S2 cognitive test. • Boasts one of the strongest arms in the upcoming draft class. • Quick-release is considered elite by many analysts. • Accurate on intermediate and long passes, with impressive anticipation and placement on outs and deeper throws. • Academic standout with a 4.0 GPA. • Can consistently fit the ball into tight windows over the middle, throwing accurate slants or threading passes between defenders before the receiver is open. • Experienced in both shotgun and under-center formations. • A dynamic athlete who poses a threat to run at any moment, thanks to his size and power to truck smaller defenders. Concerns • Still needs work on his mechanics. • Struggles to recognize blitzes and changes in coverages quickly. • Needs to work on his touch and timing on throws, knowing when to let it rip or ease up. • Has been known to bail out of the pocket too soon instead of waiting for a play to develop. • Can struggle with going through his progressions, leading to interceptions. • Inconsistent footwork leads to inaccuracies. • Tends to use a three-quarters release, which may be problematic at the next level. Fantasy Outlook When it comes to Will Levis’ fantasy outlook, he is expected to be chosen early in the draft due to his great potential. However, he may need some time to develop before becoming a reliable starting quarterback. If he does start in Week 1, there could be some comparisons to Mitch Trubisky given his physical attributes, but he may also face some struggles. That said, while he continues to develop his passing game, his rushing ability could still make him a valuable pick in fantasy leagues. Update: After learning that Levis boasted a 93 score on the S2 cognitive test, I’m inclined to update Levis’ NFL viability. That’s a very good score and one that will boost Levis’ standing to NFL personnel. Other Rookie Profiles Bijan Robinson Jaxon Smith-Njigba Jordan Addison Quentin Johnston Jahmyr Gibbs C.J. Rookie Scouting Profile: Zach Evans

FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Zach Evans (RB) Zach Evans (RB) Ole Miss Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 5-11 208 4.55* 05/30/2001 Day 2-3 2.05 Damien Harris *Pro Day College Production Zachary Evans was a key cog in the fabled North Shore (Houston, TX) program that won back-to-back Texas 6A state championships. Evans became the first five-star recruit to commit to TCU, choosing to stay home in the Lone Star State over North Carolina, Mississippi, and Georgia Tech. In his true freshman campaign (2020), Evans ran for 415 yards (7.7 YPC) and four scores, with a further 8/76 through the air in nine games. A foot injury limited Evans to six games in 2021 but he still led the Horned Frogs with 648 yards on the ground (7.0 YPC). Feeling underused at TCU, Evans transferred to Ole Miss prior to the 2022 season. In his one season for the Rebels, Evans ran for 936 yards and 10 scores while reeling in an additional dozen balls for 119 receiving yards. Strengths • Burst, balance, and power to be a plus inside and goal-line option. Also has enough speed and vision to be more than a one-trick pony. • Tackle-breaker with the strength to run through defenders and create a lot of extra yards after contact. • Very good initial burst and lateral agility. • Although not the fastest timed 40, Evans’ speed is more evident on tape, as is his ability to out-run defenders to get to the first-down marker or goal line. • Ran for 53 first downs and posted a nifty 45.9% breakaway run rate in 2022. Concerns • Lack of ball security. Had a 14.3% drop rate in 2022 and ranked 175th out of 194 running backs in PFF’s fumble grade. • Ranked 191st out of 199 qualifying FBS running backs in PFF’s pass-blocking grade. That, combined with his poor showing as a receiver is going to keep Evans off the field on passing downs. • Doesn’t show the greatest vision or decision-making when choosing inside running lanes. • Despite lofty pedigree, was never able to take over as the unquestioned feature back at either TCU or Ole Miss. Fantasy Outlook When the game flow is favorable, there is a lot to like about Zach Evans. He has the build and power to be a solid pile-mover and short-yardage option. However, he was mostly a negative as a receiver and his poor blocking is likely to keep him off the field in obvious passing situations. That’s quite a concern in a league that seems to keep embracing high-octane passing offenses every season. Overall. I see Evans being used in a part-time role and that makes him a risky second-round investment in rookie drafts. Rookie Scouting Profile: Michael Mayer

FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Michael Mayer (TE) Michael Mayer (TE) Notre Dame Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 6-4 249 4.70 07/06/2001 1-2 1.11 Zach Ertz College Production A highly-decorated two-sport star (football, basketball) out of Covington High School in Independence, Mayer was named Kentucky’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019 following an impressive senior campaign with 902 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as a tight end and 90 tackles with four INTs as a linebacker. Was named to the First-Team All-State squad and played in the 2020 All-American Bowl. Enrolled at Notre Dame after an early commitment over Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and numerous other top FBS programs. Mayer made headlines immediately for the Irish, earning All-Freshman and Third-Team All-ACC honors after leading the club with 42 grabs. Broke out in 2021 with a team-leading 71 receptions for 840 yards and seven scores and was a John Mackey Award semifinalist. In 2022, set Fighting Irish TE record with nine touchdown catches en route to First-Team AP All-American accolades and being named a finalist for the Mackey Award. Strengths • Prototype Y tight end, with ideal size (6-4, 249), who can also line up in-line and hold his own in both pass- and run-blocking situations. • Good instincts to manipulate defenders and exploit weaknesses in coverage, especially in the red zone. • Led FBS in contested catch targets (26) and catches (14). Mayer shields off defenders well and has a knack for winning 50/50 throws at a high rate. • Has extensive experience out of the slot and even lined up outside on 14.2% of his snaps in 2022. • Versatility, frame, and toughness are indicative of a plus possession and red-zone asset. Concerns • 115.9 Speed Score (44th percentile) and 11.70 Burst Score (33rd) are below average for a potential downfield “move” tight end in the NFL. • Limited route tree and needs to work on footwork especially coming into and out of breaks at full speed. • Catch radius limited by 31 5/8″ arms (16th percentile) and wing span of just 76 1/4″ (10th). Mayer’s 9 1/2-inch hands are also on the small side. • Doesn’t create a lot of extra yards after the catch or break as many arm tackles as you like to see. • While blocking technique was fine in college, will need some refinement with hands and feet to ward off bigger, stronger NFL pass rushers. Fantasy Outlook Mayer checks all the boxes to develop into a very good NFL and fantasy tight end. Many scouts consider him the top tight end of this deep and talented 2023 rookie class and draw comps from Zach Ertz to Mark Andrews. That is elite company, which will undoubtedly put Mayer in the conversation for first-round consideration in rookie drafts. However, the learning curve for rookie tight ends is noteworthy, so Mayer profiles as just a modest TE2 in redraft. Strengths • Knack for getting up to top speed in a hurry, including coming out of breaks. • Acceleration, vision, and long speed are indicative of a player who is going to break a lot of big plays and churn out a ton of yards after the catch in the pros. • Plays far bigger than size indicates. Downs routinely came up with contested catches, including a stellar 72.2% (13-of-18) contested catch rate in 2022. Uses body and leverage well to create space and outmuscle bigger defenders. • Tied for 10th with 86.5 receiving grade from PFF. • Experience as a plus punt returner. • NFL bloodlines. Father Gary was an NFL running back and his uncle is former Rams cornerback Dre Bly. Areas for Improvement • Struggled to get off the line of scrimmage in press coverage from stronger, press corners. • Lack of size is likely to force Downs into a slot role in the NFL. • Route running was a bit unpolished but should improve with NFL coaching. • Negative presence in downfield and run blocking, but not from lack of effort. • Lowly Speed Score of 80.2 ranks in just the 12th percentile. Weight is in the 2nd percentile. Fantasy Outlook Josh Downs was a target hog at North Carolina and fits the profile of a productive slot receiver in the NFL. He was able to get consistently open downfield and is adept at creating space and shielding off defenders. Downs could develop into a trusty first-down option and build a solid rapport with his quarterback. There’s also enough speed to be a solid deep threat in one-on-one situations. Some scouts like Downs as a top-5 wideout in this deep class and there is an outside shot that he slips into the bottom of Round One. Downs is a solid PPR get in the bottom half of the first round of rookie-only drafts. He also warrants WR4 attention in redraft and dynasty start-ups. Rookie Scouting Profile: Anthony Richardson

FullTime Fantasy Rookie Scouting Profile: Anthony Richardson (QB) Anthony Richardson (QB) Florida Height Weight 40-Time DOB NFL Draft Dynasty ADP NFL Comp 6-4 244 4.43 05/22/2001 Round 1 2.03 Cam Newton College Production A four-star recruit out of Gainsville, Richardson originally committed to Florida over Georgia, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and others before de-committing. Ultimately, Richardson chose to stay home and signed with the Gators and played sparingly in 2020. The following season, he drew one start and played in seven other contests while splitting time but flashed elite rushing ability. In 2022 junior campaign, Richardson took over as Florida’s starter and threw for 2,549 yards (53.8%), 17 touchdown passes, and nine picks while running 103 times for an additional 654 yards and nine touchdowns. Strengths • Blew away the scouting crowd in Indianapolis by posting stunning measurables, including a 99th percentile 40 (4.43) and Burst Score (135.4). Per Player Profiler, Richardson is the most athletic quarterback ever tested. • Superlative runner with the size and power of a fullback but speed and rushing skills of Lamar Jackson or Cam Newton. Richardson profiles as an outstanding short-yardage option and also had four TD scrambles of 60-plus yards. • Powerful throwing arm who can get the ball 70-plus yards downfield and has the authority to place the ball anywhere, especially on the run. • Has the height and frame to stand in the pocket and hold his own while commanding fear as a game-breaker once he takes off running. • Only 9.2% of pressures turned into sacks and ranked 6th in FBS with time to throw. 12.4 yards per scramble is the highest ever tracked by PFF. • Above average awareness and footwork. When in a rhythm, Richardson showed good accuracy inside 20 yards. Areas for Improvement • Erratic accuracy is a huge concern and something that rarely improves against NFL defenses. Many league personnel believe that Richardson will need at least one NFL red-shirt season, which could limit number of GMs willing to invest a Day One pick. • Inconsistent mechanics led to far too many throws off the back foot and misses of wide-open receivers. Touch and timing also leave a lot to be desired. • Did not break down defenses as well as coveted by scouts. Also struggled to go through progressions and look defenders off of intended targets. • Only had one injury-shortened season as a starter at Florida. Fantasy Outlook Richardson is the boom-or-bust pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. If he lands in the right system with a coach who will build his offense around Richardson’s elite skill set, Richardson has the potential to post elite fantasy numbers right away in a similar fashion to Justin Fields. However, there are plenty of detractors of his ability to ever become a legitimate NFL passer. While Josh Allen showed vast improvement in accuracy as a pro, for every Allen there are far more inaccurate draftees who never do. In today’s era of spread and RPO offenses, Richardson is going to command attention as a potential game-changing athlete in the first round. Landing spot will be crucial, but Richardson is every bit of a risk/reward fantasy prospect. Expect the former Gator to be a top-6 pick in Superflex leagues and go as a QB2 in redraft.
