College Production

Corbin wasn’t overly productive at Florida State but was a consistent and reliable back after transferring from Texas A&M after an injury-plagued 2019 season. In 2020 he carried the ball 81 times for 401 yards and five TDs while adding 19 receptions for 115 yards through the air. He improved on those numbers in 2021 rushing for 887 yards on 143 carries and scoring seven TDs while chipping in with 25 receptions for 144 yards and a TD in the passing game.

Strengths

Good vision.
Good size.
Physical runner who falls forward.
Versatile can contribute as a pass-catcher and returner.

Weaknesses

Lacks burst and explosion.
Takes time to accelerate initially and again after cutting.
Lacks speed to break big plays or turn the corner.
Dealt with injuries at FSU.

Fantasy Outlook

It’s unlikely Corbin is a starter in this league. The best chance he has is he goes to a team with an oft-injured running back, gets his shot, and makes the most of it. He is a gamer so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities. Nevertheless, I expect him to be little more than a fantasy afterthought barring any weeks a running back in front of him should get injured.

No matter where he lands, he won’t be a starter. So, the best-case scenario is behind a guy like Christian McCaffrey or James Conner who are high-risk injury candidates. But I don’t have the foresight to predict injuries.

On The Clock

Corbin is worth a look but if he goes undrafted, which is looking likely, he can safely be ignored in all but the largest dynasty formats. He’s well off the redraft radar.
