Waiver Wire: Week 12

Week 12 will be known as Byemageddon Part 1. With six teams off this week and the playoff push here, the Waiver Wire: Week 12 will be one of the most crucial of the 2024 season. Fortunately, I’ve got you covered with the best low-rostered players to add ahead of this week’s action.

Along with knowing who to pick up, FullTime Fantasy‘s Matchup Analyzer Tool will help you get the most out of your lineup.

Here are the low-rostered players you should consider adding before Week 12.

Week 12 BYES: AtlantaBuffaloCincinnatiJacksonvilleNew OrleansNew York Jets

circa

Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers – Watson is rostered in more leagues than I normally include, but as a huge fan, I’m duty-obligated to include him. Just be prepared to bid a lot and for maddeningly erratic performances. However, one positive is Watson’s usage has been solid of late. He has out-snapped Dontayvion Wicks in five straight games. Last week’s blowup game showed the upside but be prepared for duds. It is what it is. He’s a talented wideout in a good offense, making the upside worth an aggressive bid where he’s still available.

Adam Thielen (WR) Carolina Panthers – Theilen is expected to return to the lineup in Week 12. And there is a good chance he immediately commands a solid share of targets from Bryce Young. The veteran was dropped in many leagues and may have slipped under the radar with the Panthers having a Week 11 bye. He is a dependable source of targets who will deliver some WR3 weeks down the stretch.

Will Dissly (TE) Los Angeles Chargers – Don’t overpay after Dissly’s breakout TE5 performance last week. However, he is approaching weekly TE1 status. Dissly has seen six targets in back-to-back games and has dominated snaps since LA’s Week 5 bye. While he’s going to fetch a premium after Sunday night, Dissly should be viewed as a priority add due to the attrition at tight end. Just keep it to a reasonable 5-10% FAAB bid.

Ray-Ray McCloud (WR) Atlanta Falcons – The Falcons are off this week, which will help Darnell Mooney get healthy. But, if Mooney misses time, McCloud looks like an appealing option as a top-2 option.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR) New Orleans Saints – Bare in mind New Orleans is off this week. But MVS has consecutive big games and is playing plenty of snaps. I was cautious about adding him after Week 10 but now feel like he’s entering priority add territory if you can fade the wasted roster spot this week.

DeMario Douglas (WR) New England Patriots – Douglas has another solid outing on Sunday, reeling in 5-of-7 targets for 59 yards. He has now topped 50 receiving yards in back-to-back games. New England’s offense has looked credible with Drake Maye. Therefore, Douglas offers WR4/flex value on a week-to-week basis. Also, consider Kayshon Boutte and Kendrick Bourne.

Trey Benson (RB) Arizona Cardinals – Benson’s two best fantasy performances of the year came ahead of Arizona’s Week 11 bye. What was encouraging about those outings is that they occurred with a healthy James Conner. Granted, they were blowout Cardinals’s win, but Benson is trending up at the right time. Consider him a priority add if you roster Conner.

Roschon Johnson (RB) Chicago Bears – Coming off his worst game, Johnson tied his season-high with 10 carries in Week 11. More importantly, he cashed in his fifth rushing score. Johnson will retain Chicago’s goal-line role and will see a handful of targets as the RB2. He’s a must-add handcuff for D’andre Swift managers and a quality depth target for other managers battling the injury bug.

Ameer Abdullah (RB) Las Vegas Raiders – Zamir White (quad) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) exited Week 11. That freed up Abdullah to punch in a second-half TD. Abdullah will see a heavy load of touches on Sunday if both backs cannot practice this week.

Elijah Moore (WR) Cleveland Browns – Jameis Winston tends to flick the ball around a ton, which works out well for Cleveland’s pass catchers. However, the problem is deducting who will lead the way each week. Moore is averaging 9.7 targets and over 60 yards per game since Winston took over. There will be good and bad weeks but Moore warrants WR4/flex value moving forward.

Devaughn Vele (WR) Denver Broncos – Vaughn has recorded multiple receptions in six of his seven games. Additionally, he’s entrenched as a top-3 wideout in a Denver offense that has been surprisingly effective. And per FullTime’s strength of schedule tool, Vaughn and the Broncos have a favorable schedule down the stretch. Teammate Lil’Jordan Humphrey is also worth a minimal bid in deeper leagues.

Jonathon Brooks (RB) Carolina Panthers – I listed Brooks low because there is little chance he is available in competitive leagues. Also, Chuba Hubbard is playing well and the Panthers are going nowhere. Even though Brooks is set to make his NFL debut, he may not have much of a role. That said, definitely worth a stash if he’s on the wire.
