Erik Ezukanma (WR) Texas Tech
| Height | Weight | 40-Time | DOB | NFL Draft | Dynasty ADP | NFL Comp |

College Production
Ezukanma has led Texas Tech in receiving the last three seasons despite breaking his arm prior to the 2021 season and missing time, and only starting half the team’s games in 2018. In 2020 he was named first-team All-Big 12. The first Red Raider to accomplish that feat since Michael Crabtree, and was second-team last season. He’s an impressive athlete and prospect as a team captain and their best wideout.
Strengths
• Big body target with length and strength.
• Showed leadership.
• Can go up and get it.
• Circus-catch ability.
• Busts through press coverage.
• Tough to bring down once he has the ball.
• Long strider with good playing speed.
• High football I.Q.
Weaknesses
• Lacks straight-line deep speed.
• Occasional focus drops.
• Not overly explosive.
• Too upright at times.
• Inconsistent route runner.
Fantasy Outlook
There’s plenty to like about Ezukanma’s game but he’s likely to be buried on a team’s depth chart. Unless he lands on a team like Green Bay, Chicago, Houston, or Atlanta, it will take the former Red Raider time to develop and compete for snaps. He’s merely a late-round dynasty hold until we see him start to make plays in camp.
Post-Draft Recap
Ezukanma has landed in Miami where he fits well but has likely had his upside capped. After trading away DeVante Parker this offseason, he will fill a much-needed role in this offense and has a real shot to earn a starting outside job thanks to his size. He and Preston Williams will likely battle it out in camp for Parker’s old job. With Williams’ injury history his ability to both make the team and stay healthy if he does is in question.
The downside is that Miami already has Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to swallow up a ton of targets. Still, they are significantly different athletes than Ezukanma and it will be interesting to see if he can carve himself out a nice little niche down in South Beach.
