Fantasy Outlook
Robinson has the potential to be a dangerous weapon in the NFL. He has the traits to be a hybrid player the likes of Deebo Samuel. Although, he does lack the strength of Deebo he has the skillset with the ball in his hands to make up for it. Creative coaching could have a massive impact on his production on the next level. If used properly he could be a fantasy star. On the other hand, if he gets stuck in a boring offense that lacks creativity he could get lost in the shuffle as nothing more than a slot guy with an occasional highlight play.
Even if he fails to have an immediate impact on an offense he should contribute on special teams returning the ball. However, the hope is he will land somewhere where they find a way to get the ball in his hands in space and make it play. It will likely take a few years before he is able to reach his full potential though as he still needs to develop if he wants to be a true slot receiver.
The ideal landing spot for Robinson would be Miami. We saw what Mike McDaniel did with Deebo in San Fran. He’s a creative offensive mind who will find ways to utilize a player like Robinson’s unique skill set. Combine that with an accurate quarterback who prefers to make plays in the short passing attack and this would be an outstanding match for his fantasy outlook.
Post-Draft Recap
The explosive Robinson was drafted with the 11th pick in Round 2 by the Giants, quite a bit higher than anticipated. While this pairing doesn’t seem like a necessarily impactful one, our own Billy Muzio loves the fit and views Robinson as one of his must-have rookie wideouts to target in 2022 fantasy drafts. It remains to be seen how and where Robinson will fit in with the Giants but there’s enough value in targeting him late to make him an awfully appealing late-round value in redraft and best-ball formats.
