INTRODUCTION
This is another small 4 game slate after a heavy afternoon of contests and the strategy for me remains the same as we have used on other small 4 game evening slates lately — like last Saturday night when there were a few stud SP’s on the mound and we went away from one, heavy on the other and found a sneaky SP against chalky bats.
The game theory comes in a lot more on these type of slates so keep that kind of construction in mind when building your lineup
Update …. Lots of tinkering for a second lineup for me on DK and I went with Ole 6’5 Yarbrough from the Rays who should come in tonight after the 1st inning which means one less Altuve AB vs him.
WEATHER
Angels @ Red Sox … They should get this game in but there are rain concerns to watch out for
PITCHING
Lance McCullers … Lance is my top guy again tonight because you’ll see below that I am going after Nola as part of my game theory strategy. Its Nola and Lance up top and Lance vs the Rays will be chalky for sure but I don’t hate locking him in if you need an easy SP1 up to. Bauers is a scare, but Lance will get the strikeouts to offset a pesky Rays team
Junior G … Picking on the Reds.
LONGSHOTS
Jaime Barria … Gotta get a weird guy on SP2 for DK tonight and I cannot go Roark, fuck that. So Barria against the Red Sox is ballsy but it’s worked plenty times before.
Brian Johnson … If you cannot endorse the Barria play, go the other side here.
FADES
Aaron Nola … see below
Tan…. lol, no I can’t do this.
STACKS
Nationals … This has been a really bad offense this month as they continue to get shut out way more than they should, however they got a rare middle of the week day off on Wednesday and coming off that disaster series in Tampa and the Phils whipping up on them last weekend I expect the Nats to come out swinging tonight against Nola who is normally dominant at home. That should drive the Nats ownership down but Harper, Soto and even old man Daniel Murphy stand out to me tonight.
Brewers … Too many lefties in a tiny park vs a bad pitcher vs LHP to ignore them. Thames owns Cincy and Yelich along with Villar and Cincy Killer Braun from the right side.
FADES
Red Sox … They play Yanks tomorrow, fade.
