HOCKEY IS BACK! And the great news is that for the rest of the season we’ve got no less than 3 games per day in the NHL which means plenty of good hockey slates. Now is the time to jump in if you haven’t already and start playing every day.
STACKS
Florida Panthers … The Panthers and Islanders game should be one of the higher scoring ones on the slate and both feature some nice stack options. The Panthers play fast, shoot a ton and the Islanders have been giving up over 40 shots per game during the month of January and about 4 goals per game. Both Panthers lines are in play, but I really want exposure to Vincent Trocheck, so my Panthers stack starts there and I’d pair him with Jonathan Huberdeau and Keith Yandle
NY Islanders … Back to the law firm. The Tavares-Bailey-Lee will be back healthy together and at home they’re always a premium play where they can draw favorable matchups.

Winnipeg Jets … The Jets are 17-3-1 at home and a little gut feel tonight says that the Lightning come out flat off of hosting the all-star game and all the festivities that surrounded it with their star players being the center of attention. Winnipeg’s top line features a new value play in Jack Roslovic who is a former first round pick and is min price skating with Wheeler and Laine. He scored his first goal right before the break and I’ll be a sucker and take his value with Wheeler and Laine who I really like tonight as a sneaky tournament play.
Other Stacks
Colorado Avalanche … MacKinnon-Rantanen-Landeskog-E.Johnson
Carolina Hurricanes … Staal-Aho-Lindholm-Faulk
Nashville Predators … Johansen-Forsberg-Arvidsson-Josi … A team who really needed the break to get healthy. Verify everyone is starting and together on the top line.
Update: Looks like Forsberg will sit out one more game.
POSITIONAL FAVORITES
CENTERS
Sidney Crosby … Sid is back to accumulating stats mode with points in 9 straight before the break and plenty of multi-point games. His price has jumped back up where it should be and he has a less than favorable match-up but is really someone who is match-up proof right now.
Vincent Trocheck … Love both Florida Centers (him and Barkov) tonight in what should be a high scoring affair. Trocheck can be played as a one off since he see’s top PP unit time as well but I really would try to lock him in with Jonathan Huberdeau

John Tavares & Mathew Barzal … Barzal still offers the discount but equal upside to Tavares. I prefer Tavares in a stack tonight though as I really like the whole Isles top line at home.
Jack Eichel … Jack was on fire right before the break and displayed his talents down in Tampa at the all-star game. No reason to think he wont start hot the second half as well.
WINGS
Jonathan Huberdeau / Evgenii Dadanov … Huberdeau will be skating with Trocheck, while Dadanov remains underpriced. Both are great plays tonight in what should be a high scoring game.
Josh Bailey / Anders Lee … See above. Bailey and Lee for similar reasons as Huberdeau and Dadanov.
Teuvo Teravainen … My sneaky one off value winger tonight. The Sens are giving up a ton of shots and Teravainen is looking to carry over a 3 point game from before the break into tonight. He’s had a steady volume of shots of late and I trust him to continue to contribute.
Gabriel Landeskog / Mikko Rantanen … I expect Colorado to continue their hot streak into the second half. This line is one of the best in hockey over the past 6 weeks and I would pay up for them tonight.
Dominik Simon … Skating with Crosby has it’s fantasty benefits. Simon remains too cheap when you consider he’s got Sid skating with him and also see’s power play time. Simon and Sheary are going to be popular pairings with Crosby tonight.
Others: Viktor Arvidsson, Mikael Granlund, Micheal Ferland, Patrik Laine
DEFENSEMAN
Brent Burns … Normally I don’t pay up for him this year on the road, but tonight is a spot where I don’t hate it against Pittsburgh.
Erik Johnson … My top defenseman play tonight.
Nick Leddy … D-Men versus Florida. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
Keith Yandle … Yandle is on the top PP unit against a team giving up 4 goals per game over the last month. Tons of correlation upside with Trocheck and the Panthers tonight.
Sami Vatanen … D-Men have torched Buffalo of late and Vatanen had 8 shots against them back in December. His upside to shoot and block a ton of shots makes him a play in all formats, especially DK tonight.
Others: Alex Pietrangelo, Dustin Byfuglien, Drew Doughty, Jacob Slavin
GOALIES
Sergei Bobrovsky … Waaaaaaaaaay too cheap on FanDuel today. Home favorite against a team who doesn’t have a super low shot attempt rate. Bobrovsky is someone who can play at the 9k salary level normally when he is at home, so I’d look to get a decent amount of him on FanDuel tonight.
Jonathan Bernier … Believe it or not, one of the most consistent goalies of late. Even in back to back losses where he gave up three goals he still made 30+ saves. Vancouver is playing faster which should keep that trend going, although I expect a better defensive effort tonight.
Matt Murray (Confirmed) … Expected to be back in net tonight for Pittsburgh and although San Jose doesn’t shoot much, I like him to get the win tonight.
LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT: Tavares-Bailey-Lee (NY Islanders)
FAVORITE STUD WINGER: Patrik Laine (Winnipeg)
FAVORITE VALUE WINGER: Teuvo Teravainen (Carolina)
TOP DEFENSE-MAN: Erik Johnson (Colorado)
